Advantages: Smells fresh. Reasonable price.

Disadvantages: Drying, hard to get out of tube

I bought this shampoo some time ago, as part of a buy-one-get-one-free offer, and it's not my usual favourite brand. However, as a brunette myself I thought I would give it a go.

I am always tempted by promises of my quite dull brown hair becoming more shiny and / or glossy, simply by using a certain product, and this product does make some claims to that effect, such as 'reveal the shimmering multi-tones of your brunette hair'. Unfortunately, I haven't noticed any significant difference in the shine levels on my head, and if anything, I found this shampoo quite drying: After using it, I need much more conditioner than usual.

It's in a hefty 350ml tube with a flip-top lid, handy in the shower. However, I find that it's very difficult to actually get out of the container: I cannot for the life of me work out whether the hole in the lid is very small, or if the shampoo itself is extremely thick. Whatever, you need to really squeeze hard to get the slightest bit out.

Depending on your point of view of course, you may find this to be a good thing: forcing you to use this product economically, no accidentally spilling half a bottle at a time. Or, like me, you might just find it intensely irritating and time-wasting when all you want to do is just wash your hair.

The one star I'm going to give is because it does at least smell nice, pleasantly but subtly fragranced. Also, it's reasonably priced and widely available.

This has become one of those white elephants in the bathroom: In my younger days when I had more spare cash to splurge, I would have thrown it away by now. These days, it sits on the shelf, just getting gradually used up as an 'alternate' shampoo. One of these days, I might try cleaning the tiles with it.

Sorry Sunsilk, you just aren't for me.

Summary: Lasts forever. You will wish it didn't.

Best way to make your hair shiny is to dye it the same colour :)

I don't like sunsilk shampoos anyway but certainly won't be tempted by this one x
