Advantages: The smell is lovely - can't describe it but it's sweet and woody

Disadvantages: None

I have natural brown hair but it's very mousy and so I have it dyed into a darker warmer brown. So it was important for me to find a good shampoo that will not wash my colour out but at the same time make my hair nice and shiny without being greasy. I have tried so many different shampoos its untrue but I have to say that Sunsilk Brunette is by far the best I have ever used. I have tried their conditioner and I will make a comment and say it wasn't for me - it didn't condition my hair as deeply as I'd like. It does say on the bottle to use both the shampoo and conditioner together to achieve maximum results but I really didn't rate their conditioner and to be honest I think that's all a marketing ploy anyway.

The smell of this shampoo is lovely - I can't really describe what it smells like - it's quite sweet and woody I suppose but also very different to most shampoos. Its brown in colour and quite glistening and goes onto your hair very easily and lathers up well. I always wash my hair twice as I'm sure most women do. I find that a bottle of this usually lasts me about a month which isn't bad really. The bottle is nice and simple and sturdy which is good as well - I hate these funky modern designed bottles that don't stand up anywhere and are too bulky to keep in your shower.

As I said I have coloured hair and the bottle states that it has chestnut extracts in it and they will enrich the brunette colour of your hair - and that it works well for natural brunette hair or colour treated hair. A lot of shampoos which claim to hold your colour in make your hair greasy and lank for some reason - GHD are a good example - I didn't rate their shampoo or conditioner at all as they made my hair greasy but their straightening irons are great. Perhaps manufacturers have one brilliant product amongst all of theirs - if that's the case this shampoo is definitely Sunsilks best product in their range.

I find afterwards that my hair is shiny and the colour holds in much longer than using other shampoos. I find it seems to bring the brown tones out in my hair more as well - which I know is what it's supposed to do but I was actually shocked that this one worked - I have heard that claim so many times and failed to see it materialise!

All in all this is a great shampoo if you are a brunette - even if you are natural without coloured hair. It smells great, it's really cheap (£1.99 in most shops) and it really makes brunette hair look great. I discovered it a year ago and it's the only shampoo I will continue to use. I don't know what I'll do if they get rid of it!

Summary: Brings out tones in brunette hair amazingly - smells great - bargain price - get it!
