I have been dying my hair for as long as I can remember and find i am doing it more often now due to the silver highlights which keep appearing on a regular basis! I am naturally a mousey brown colour and dye it a golden blonde colour which looks nice and bright for about two weeks after dying it but it then starts to fade and look a bit dull.
A friend recommended this shampoo to me who also has blonde hair. She actually gave me this 200ml tube as she had bought 4 from Home Bargains for £1 each. I had never used this before and hadn't really heard much about it so thought I would try it.
The tube is a pretty yellow colour and is a soft plyable plastic making it very easy to squeeze the shampoo out. It lid is a clear plastic which flips off easily and secures back on tightly. It is designed with the lid on the bottom which it sits on so the shampoo is always at the right end to use. The tube tells you that it revives sun-kissed highlights and is for all tones of blonde with natural, highlighted or colour-treated hair.
The shampoo itself is a creamy yellowy colour and had a lovely smell of camomile as it contains a camomile natural extract. This smell does last on your hair after washing for a few hours.
I wash my hair every other day and have been using this shampoo for a couple of months, although not every time I wash my hair, as I also use a shampoo and conditioner together when I have only allowed myself 10 minutes to have a shower and get ready for work.
I must say that you don't need very much of this Sunsilk shampoo as it is very thick and creamy. I squeeze about a 10p size onto my hand and find that this is sufficient to rub up into quite a frothy lather which washes my hair easily. I can feel the shampoo soaking into my hair and it feels like a quality product. It washes out easily and I then apply a conditioner if I have time.
From when I started to use this shampoo my hair looks brighter and has a shine to it, and it has been commented on by friends and family. I do still dye my hair regularly but I find that by also using this shampoo I don't get that dull look which I had before. I understand that they do a conditioner in this and would buy it if I could get it at the right price.
I recommend this shampoo to brighten up dull looking hair, it works for me.
This is a review of Sunsilk's Lively Blonde shampoo from their colour collection range. I have blond hair (dyed) and it can look a bit dull sometimes so I hoped that this would live up to its lively title.
The packaging is great on this shampoo. The body of the bottle is a slightly v shaped tube made of really bendy plastic so it means you can squeeze out every last drop. The lid is screw top and flip top and the bottle is designed to 'sit on its head' so there is always shampoo ready to leave the bottle when you squeeze it, even when it's nearly empty. The bottle is coloured bright yellow and very eye catching.
This shampoo is designed for blonde hair but I don't think it'd hurt to use it if you were not blonde. The shampoo contains a natural extract of camomile which is a well known plant that can naturally help hair to lighten. You can use this shampoo if you hair is natural, highlighted or colour treated so it is pretty versatile.
I have got a lot of hair so I use quite a bit of shampoo to make sure all my hair is in a lather. I start off with a 50p sized blob in my hand and then usually go back for more. This shampoo lathers up nicely and quickly shampoos hair until it is squeaky clean. On this occasion I did not use the corresponding conditioner from the range but substituted another brand. I found my hair was quickly clean and the effects lasted around two days which is normal for me.
I actually bought this shampoo because it was cheap, I just chucked a couple of bottles in the trolley whilst doing the supermarket 'big shop' to keep in as I hate running out of shampoo. I was the only one to use this shampoo as my husband has brown hair so would be scared to use this! It lasted me around three weeks which is pretty good for every other day use.
Price and availability
A 200ml tube of this shampoo is priced £1 at the moment at ASDA which I think is excellent value for money.
I would buy this shampoo again in the future and would be interested to try the conditioner. I don't think overall it actually did make my hair any brighter but it did what I expect of a shampoo and made my hair nice and clean. For the price paid I think this shampoo is quite good and I am happy to recommend it to fellow blondies.
I tried this shampoo because it claimed to make my blonde hair look brighter and 'lively' I had previously been using herbal essences shampoo for added volume.
Effect- I didn't really notice any change in my hair after using this shampoo. My hair did look clean but it was just the same as it would have been after using a normal shampoo. I think all the different shampoos for different coloured hair are a bit of a gimmick and designed to make you think you are buying a specialist hair product so you pay more. I also didn't think my hair felt particularly soft after using it.
The actual shampoo- The shampoo has a blonde colour to it and I would say you need slightly more than average for it to lather up in your hair, it has a pleasant but non descript smell and is easily applied and washed out of your hair.
Bottle- It comes in a 200ml bottle which is an average side, one good thing about this bottle is it stands on its head so if you are coming to the end of the bottle it is still easy to get out. The bottle is yellow colour and the colour represents what hair colour it is supposed to be for. The conditioner bottle looks similar and I sometimes get them mixed up which is a bit of a pain.
Price- Because sunsilk doesn't really do what it says it is going to do I think it is quite expensive, I think it costs about £2.50 for a 200ml litre bottle and there are other shampoos for less that are probably just as good or even better.
Overall I wouldn't really recommend this shampoo, I think its a bit of a rip-off and doesn't make your hair look any different.
Sunsilk Lively Blonde shampoo designed for people with blonde hair. I am naturally blonde and as with all natural blondes our hair can look a bit dull. I saw this shampoo on offer a few months ago and decided to give it a go. I did not get on very well with it and I probably wouldn't buy it again. It did seem to make my hair brighter but I couldn't get a brush through my hair after using it. I even bought the matching conditioner but that didn't help either.
When I used the shampoo it didn't seem to matter how much I used, it just wouldn't make a lather. I kept using the shampoo for a couple of weeks to give it a fair try but the condition of my hair never improved. To be fair to the product maybe it just didn't agree with my hair type but I would be reluctant to recommend it to a friend based on my experience.
I actually love this product! From time to time I like to change my hair shampoo's to see if I can tell the difference. Recently I found this product on offer in my local supermarket and decided to buy it.
I tested this product out and found that the tube it comes in doesnt let out too much shampoo which means that a lot of the shampoo isnt wasted like most. Only a little amount is needed really which makes this product so great as I want my shampoo to last me as long as possible!
After using it i started to notice the effects when I blow dried my hair. It seemed to mee that this boosted the effects of the lightness of my hair more and made it appear a lot more radiant than its usual dullness.
The great thing also about this product is that it is also cheap so it wont cost you lots to spend on a great hair do!
I have dyed my hair blonde for about 2 and a half years now, and i love the colour when i first come out of the hairdressers, but after a few weeks it looks dull and i want it brighetning up again! It is too expensive to go to the hairdressers every few weeks, so i decided to try one of these shampoos which are specially formulated for blonde hair.
I decided to try the sunsilk lively blonde shampoo, i found this product in asda in a promotion of 4 for £3 on a range of beauty products. I only bought one bottle at the time, and some other shampoos and shower gels, but i have since gone back and bought 4 bottles of sunsilk shampoo and conditioner for £3.
A bottle of this sunsilk shampoo, lasts me about 3 weeks. I think this shampoo is a bargain in asda as it works out 75p a bottle for something thats lasts so long! I wash my hair every single night and use a generous amount too.
I was attracted to this shampoo because of its bright yellow bottle which is quite simple and sophisticated, not much advertising on it.
To use this shampoo, you just flip open the lid and squeeze the shampoo out of the tube, into the palm of your hand. You then massage it into wet hair and rinse thoroughly. This shampoo builds up a nice lather, and you only need a small amount.
The colour of the shampoo is a pale yellow, and if you look at it, it is actually full of glitter. It is very shimmery and sparkly, and i was a bit worried my hair would be full of glitter once id used it. But this was not the case, once i had dried my hair, it looked so shiny and healthy! My hair did not feel or look greasy,it was soft and felt so easy to handle.
After using this shampoo for a few weeks after going to the hairdressers, i have not yet noticed my hair going dull, which means this product must be making a bit of a difference! Even if it doesnt brighten it up too much, its still a nice shampoo to use and i might try some of the other sunsilk shampoos after ive used these 4 bottles up!
Sunsilk lively blonde has a lovely camomile smell to it, which is not too strong. It says on the front it has added a camomile natural extract.
I would deffinatley recommend this shampoo, it leaves your hair soft and clean, and in my opinion does what it says on the bottle brightening up blonde hair!
Shampoo. Yes, the million dollar question; "Which one should I buy today?" I have been rotating between Treseme blonde, Sunsilk blonde and one other shampoo that has completely slipped my mind. (curse you, mummy brain!) I always understood two things about shampoo;
1. Always wash your hair every other day ( washing daily will discourage your body to produce it's own natural oils and your scalp will become dry and reliant on constant shampoo-ing)
And 2. Never use the same shampoo for long periods of time (your hair becomes used to a product after a period of time and thus becomes immune to it's effects)
I follow these rules to the day - so please remember that when you read this review and note that I do not suggest or reccommend you use this product for extended periods of time. (Change every 3 months)
Sunsilk blonde might look pretty, with it's friendly-looking yellow squeezy bottle and silky lettering on the front - but beware! Sunsilk shampoo is a lethal weapon! That flat strip you see at the top, which makes the bottle resemble something from an artist's acrylic paint set...is sharp! I have BLED from this evil, evil strip. The edges are particularly pointy too so don't use this as a microphone in the shower - getting too excited and jabbing yourself in the eyes is no laughing matter! They should put a warning sticker on the side - I mean, seriously! It's dangerous okay - so take care when using it!
Ahem, anyways...getting the shampoo out is similar to the process of squeezing paint out of a tube - perhaps the makers were thinking that it symbolises paint and will enhance your hair into a nice shiney blonde? The lid looks the same as a paint lid, except that you flip it open. It's stands on its head which makes getting the solution out very easy - no you wont be auditioning for a tomato ketchup advert with this clever vessel! No, Sir!
WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?
Honestly? It feels like goo. Thick, runny goo, Or egg whites, or runny snot...and looks like caramel -but a miraculous thing happens when you lather it onto the scalp...it turns fluffy and spongey - keep larthering and it'll go all bubbly and mushy - like hair mousse. Ooh it's lovely to wash your hair with.
Oh the smell! It's light and clean and refreshing! I used this product while I was pregnant and could sniff out the chemicals from a factory several miles away - most shampoos made my head spin and had me vomiting within seconds! Yet Sunsilk had me serene and smiling. It has a lovely cammomile smell to it (which isn't as surprise seeing as Cammomile is an ingredient) and doesn't smell anything like chemicals.
DOES IT WORK?
Well, don't use it if you've got dark hair. I accidentally washed my hubby's hair with it (he's a brunette - wait, is there a word for men with brown hair? Brunette sounds a little girly...) anyways, the tips of his hair went ginger for a day. That was certainly interesting.
I have naturally dirty blonde hair, but I've dyed it since I was 14. So what I found was this product will bring out the gold tones in your hair. (and the red ones too, it seems) I experience a nice shine to my locks as well - only after blow drying though! As for silky? Hmm, not too sure. It certainly does nothing for frizz. (but it doesn't make promises so I'm not surprised) Once I forgot that I had washed my hair and did it twice (I know, mummy brain with a vengeance!) and my hair felt very dry afterwards. So that whole "Lather, Rinse, Repeat" thing is just a marketing ploy!
The best places to get this stuff is Asda (or Poundland) as they are almost always on offer for a quid (or 2 for £2) They NEED to be cheap too, because I can only get 4 washes out of them (I guess my hair IS long though - but you can see my picture, I'm no pocahontas)
Meh. It's fine. I do prefer the Treseme Blonde Shampoo because the pot is much larger for one thing (albeit more expensive by far) and doesn't feel like runny snot (which is always nice) but this one IS cheap and smells really pleasent. I've got no major complaints and just washed my hair with it now. :) It's worth a pound to try out. If you hate it, you'll only need to endure 3 more washes and you're out of it anyways. :)
I have always had trouble finding a good shampoo that would keep my hair looking shiney and healthy but without making it excessivley greasy and stripped of all the important nutrients.
I was recommended Sunsilk Lively Blonde Shampoo by a friend and have never looked back.
The product is really simple to use, like most shampoos you simple massage a small amount into the scalp and along the ends. After leaving it for a few seconds you rinse it off and preferably use Sunsilk Lively Blonde conditioner to leave your hair feeling soft and gentle.
The product has a very nice smell, my boyfriend always comments on how nice my hair smells and how shiney it looks. It is also a very nice texture and massages into the hair really nicely, getting rid of tangles really easily.
It is very sensitive on skin, I have very sensitive skin and am allergic to many products but I can use this product everyday without any problem.
It is also a very cheap product, I usually buy it from my local supermarket for ninety eight pence.
Every woman has a unique hair type that requires different products and care to guarantee it looks healthy. Sunsilk appreciates this and therefore has a variety of products to accommodate everyone's needs.
Shampoo is an essential product to maintain your personal hygiene. The product is used for the removal of oils, dirt, environmental pollutants and other impurity particles that steadily build up in hair. Shampoos aim is to remove the unwanted build-up without stripping out so much as to make hair unmanageable.
Sunsilk's lively blonde shampoo is aimed at anyone with blonde hair, whether its honey blonde, platinum or ash blonde is irrelevant it works great with any shade.
Sunsilk lively blonde shampoo to brightens and makes hair silky soft, it doesn't just stop there the formulation in this clever product is enriched with cammolie natural extract with lightening properties, which turns dull hair into radiant, bright silky looking hair
The shampoo can be used daily or whenever you want; although I'm sure after you have tried the shampoo for yourself you will probably stick to the first option as the product is a very high quality shampoo at a very low price. It is thought that "You get what you pay for" however in this case the rule doesn't apply, the shampoo is like any expensive shampoo I have used, it leaves my hair feeling so silky, shiny and really good despite the fact I have dyed my hair several times and often use hair straighteners.
The shampoo is packaged in a yellow tube. The squeezey tube has a variety of shades of yellow on the front which I think is rather creative as it suggests that the product is for all shades of blonde.
Once you have finished with most of the tube and you struggle to get some of the product out at the bottom- let's say you cannot be bothered to make a trip to the shop or have forgotten, then cut the end of the tube with a pair of scissors as a lot of shampoo seems to stay at the end because the tube is very "squeezy"; the shampoo doesn't come in a hard bottle like most shampoos.
Some shampoos don't lather very well, and so you have to seemingly apply more. The Sunsilk Lively blonde however lathers up really well so you can use a small amount across the whole of your hair instead of having to add more water and product to create a good lather. On application, I found that it gives a good amount of lather - not too little so that you are really
Before using this product my hair was brittle, dry and dull but now I use this product the majority of the time when I was my hair (I tend to change products often to prevent build up) I have noticed a drastic change to my dull hair. In fact I can't really call it "dull" anymore, it's far from dull. It's the most radiant I've ever seen it, despite using more expensive products in the past. I can't remember the last time I had a serious knot in my hair even though I have long hair. After my hair is washed my hair is completely knot free.
Overall, this product is exceptional; I can't fault it at all. The packaging is creative and really stands out compared to most products in the shop, it cleanses and brightens hair and most importantly makes blonde hair look sun-kissed and gorgeous!
Naturally I have very light brown hair and then I have blonde highlights added. I tend to try and go blonder for the summer as it just makes me look and feel better - less peaky and pale. I initially picked this shampoo up as it was on offer in the supermarket and I am a bit of a bargain whore.
The Lively blonde Shampoo from Sunsilk is targeted at all types of blonde hair whether it is natural, high-lighted or colour treated. The back of the bottle informs you that it contains chamomile extract which has lightening properties. This is supposed to reveal blonde tones and remove dull residues. It is also supposed to do all this without stripping or adding to the current colour of your hair.
This normally costs £1.95 for a 200ml bottle - however I have often seen this on offer as a 3 for 2 special.
This is suitable for daily use and you just apply in the regular way that you would shampoo. It comes in a bright, yellow squeezy tube. The design of the bottle is quite useful actually - as you can squeeze out just the amount that you want and it will also stand up on its lid in the bathroom. This means that when you near the bottom of the shampoo you can get to the last bits as it is constantly dripping downwards.
On application, I found that it gives a good amount of lather - not too little so that you are really scrubbing at your hair to create soapy bubbles and not too much that you can't actually see for soap suds and bubbles. Immediately after rinsing my hair I noticed that it was very tangle free. This was before I had even added any conditioner. Normally after using some shampoos my hair is quite knotty and tangled and I end up using quite a lot of conditioner - however this wasn't the case with this at all.
The shampoo also has a very pleasant chamomile smell to it - which lingers on your hair for a few hours after washing.
All in all, the actual hair washing experience was quite pleasant!
Since regularly using this shampoo I have noticed that my hair is in a much better condition. Previously it was quite dry from constant highlighting and straightening - but the overall condition seems to have improved.
Even though my hair is only shoulder length it is very, very thick and gets tangled quite easily throughout a normal day. However I have noticed that it seems sleeker, looks tidier and can go a lot longer without having to be brushed.
It did take me a couple of days to notice any change in actual hair colour. I didn't notice myself at first - but a couple of people asked me if I 'd coloured my hair again - so it must have been working very well!
I think this is a great shampoo for me - it leaves my colour looking a lot lighter, my hair is less tangled and dull and it looks really shiny.
Also at such a reasonable price this is a great shampoo for natural and bottle blondes alike!
I'd been bored of using the same shampoo everytime I washed my hair, so I thought I'd go for something different when I bought this product. I think it was on offer when I bought it, but it looked really nice and good for me as I am naturally blonde! I now really love this, I buy it most of the time but I do try other things aswell.
The appearance of the Lively Blonde shampoo is good - the average shaped bottle, it has a yellowish colour which could show that it is for blondes, with a clear bottle lid at the bottom. The writing is set out nicely, maybe could be a little bit bigger but that hardly matters.
This is really easy to use, the first thing I noticed was the easy squeeze, a nice amount comes out with a small squeeze. You just massage it into your hair, from roots to tip and then wash off like most other shampoos. What I liked about it was the fact that you don't have to use loads for it to give effect. I have quite long hair, and I only have to use a small amount.
I really did like the Sunsilk Lively Blonde shampoo, I actually bought the conditioner too which is just as lovely. I could really see and tell the difference having used the shampoo, it really brought out the blondeness of my hair colour. It was lovely and smooth and it lasted too.
I would definitely use this again, and I have done! I was really impressed at the results it gave my hair, and the difference it caused. Before, my hair was quite dry with not much life in it but now it is lovely and smooth. I straighten my hair most days, and you can really see the shine and I can feel it too. I definitely recommend this.
So I have dyed Blonde hair and I find that in the winter, when Im not in the sun, my blonde hair can become darker and duller and doesnt have the glossy, vibrant blondeness it once had. I really wanted it back but wasnt quite sure how to go about it.
So I was out shopping and I needed some new shampoo. I usually buy VO5, tangle free shampoo but thought I would have a change and see what the market had to offer me. I saw the blonde range and decided I would try one of these. Looking through the different makes and brands, I found that a lot of these products were deerer then what I was used to paying and as a student I cant afford to throw away money. Then I saw Sunsilk with its Bright Yellow bottle gleaming out at me on the shelf. I saw it was only £1.79 and thought that for that inexpensive price, I might as well give it ago. It says on the tube that it brings out your natural high lights and brings out the intensity of your sun kissed hair. This was exactly what I needed!
So i headed home and tried it out. I have quite long hair but found that I only needed a small dollop to soap my hair up. This is good as it means I'm going to get more use's out of it then i had orginally thought. I washed it out and it came out easily and left my hair feeling quite tangle free, an added bonus.
When I was drying my hair I was constantly checking to see the results. While drying I noticed that it made my hair a little more wispy than normal but I was able to keep it under control. When my hair was dried and straighted I could really tell the difference. My hair not only looked more vibrant and intense but it had also gave it extra volume!
I think with more washes with this shampoo and teaming it up with the matching conditioner I will be able to get that sun, holiday hair I was hoping for all year round.
I know this is going to sound very bizarre as I'm reviewing this shampoo but also recommending it for brunettes! I am a brunette and have quite dark hair. I have always found with the brunette shampoos they make my hair look quite dull and dark. I only used thus shampoo as my sister had bought it who was blonde and so while in the shower I decided to sneak a bit and try it.
The bottle is in a squeezy bottle and so it makes it easy when in the shower to squeeze out the shampoo and get them last bits out, as I have found some shampoos although in plastic squeezable bottles can still be quite hard plastic! The bottle is also yellow which looks as though its had golden glitter sprinkled over it, so looks very pretty, and reminds you off summer or the sun!
When using in the shower and squeezing it out you get a very fresh scent from this and again I would describe the smell as something you would smell in the summer as it's a very clean smell. The shampoo itself is quite thick in consistency and is a lovely golden colour. When lathering up your hair it foams up very well and so I found you only need a small bit, which is good as it means it'll last a lot longer. It rinsed out nice and easy, and even now I could tell my hair felt a lot softer.
When brushing my hair after coming out the shower it is usually very tangled but after using this shampoo my hair was exceptionally soft and the brush glided effortlessly through my hair, it also seemed to dry a lot quicker while blow drying it.
Once my hair was dry not only was it softer then it was before, but it had made a huge difference to my hair. Normally it is very dark and all the same shade, however this shampoo had seemed to pick out the different shades of brown with my hair and so stopped it looking so monotone and boring.
I would highly recommend this shampoo as if it can do this for me being a very dark brunette then for blondes it must be even better!
I have blonded hair, not real of course! So I am always trying out new blonding shampoos and it costs a small fortune. I often walk past this is the supermarket and think hmmm, looks cheap I won't buy it. I was in Tesco the other night and it was two for two quid so I thought why not see what it is actually like...
The test: Washed hair, poured out the shampoo, it comes out quite thick, rather goopy and you don't need much as it lathers pretty well. It has a slight camomile smell about it, not too strong and overpowering and definitely not clinical in any way. I rubbed it in, then rinsed it out, it rinses easily and leaves the hair feeling quite soft and flyaway.
Blowdrying: After patting the hair dry (always pat never rub as it is better for the cuticles) I started to blowdry and I must say the hair felt a little sleeker than usual and seemed to have a bit of bounce to it. I was rather pleased.
The colour: Well it says it refreshes highlights and my blond ehair shone well after using it. It did seem to give it a bit of a lift. I was pleased with the result and how my hair felt.
Price: Usually costs about £1.79.
Use With: The conditioner really helps to make the hair even sleeker and shinier and will tame wild hairs
Result: Impressed, I would put it on a par with John Frieda's Sheer Blonde Range for sure.
Buy it if you're blonde!
The reason I initially bought this shampoo was because i went into my local Bodycare Shop and it was only 99p for a big botle and i was on a budget at the time when I was a student so thought I would give it a go not thinking it would be any good, However I was pleasantly surprised when I used it. The smell is nice and pleasant and it lathers really well so you can get a good scrub. I also bought the conditioner which i used afterwards. When drying my hair I found it to be softer and shinier and more bouncy and to life than normal and that was only after one wash, so it is really good and the value for money is brilliant. I think it a normal boots or tesco its around £1.99. My boyfreidn also uses the shampoo and he wears a lot of product in his hair and he says it washes all that out brilliantly and makes his hair shiny too, so its really good and definately worth buying.
