The Sunsilk voluptuous volume shampoo and conditioner duo are a great product with added collagen to boost the volume of your hair from the roots by plumping up the strands of hair. Unfortunately unless you are extremely patient and have a few extra minutes when washing/conditioning your hair you will struggle with squeezing the formula from the packaging quickly and easily.

Let me start from the top. I bought theses two items on BOGOF in ASDA I think I paid approximately £2 for the both of them. They looked ideal for my type of hair - flat. I also thought the product was quite innovative as I haven't come across shampoo and conditioner with added collagen for the purpose of increasing the volume in the hair strands. These Sunsilk products don't come in their traditional hard plastic oval packaging, instead they are a softer plastic material and they stand on the lid. This means that the base is a clear flip lid which closes when stood on its head. The other end of the packaging is the sealed end and forms an edge so there is only one was to store this product - on its head! The packaging for both the shampoo and the conditioner are a pearly lilac/blue/silvery colour with darker blue text written in the traditional Sunsilk title. As the packaging gets lighter the font gets darker. The word collagen is clearly emblazoned on the front of the tube underneath the description of the product.

Ingredients and additional information such as how to use the product are featured on the back of the product. The instructions are the same as most shampoos, massage in well and rinse, repeat if necessary. The same goes for the conditioner.

The shampoo is a pearly white colour and is quite thick and creamy in texture. I have found that a little bit goes a long way and I can feel the products working on strengthening my hair as I apply it. The conditioner is a white substance more silky in texture compared to the shampoo and on application it glides into the hair.

My personal experience is of these products working together - I haven't used one or the other separately and thus cannot comment on whether they are so effective as individual products. The advice with most hair products is to dry and style as usual. I have found that my hair remains feeling fuller on drying and styling, brushing is easy as the conditioner has treated the hair, made it knot free and shiny. Both the shampoo and conditioner have the same scent - slightly floral, pleasant but not over powering. The smell doesn't linger on the hair once dry.

Overall I love this product, however I am not impressed by the packaging, and this is its biggest pitfall. After just 3 applications from both the shampoo and conditioner I struggled to get the product from the packaging. I found that I couldn't easily squeeze the shampoo/condition from the tube and had to make sure I had my hands free - i.e. not washing my hair over the bath - in order to squeeze enough from the tubes. This is my only complaint but it is one that has put me off buying again. I have read previous reviews which suggest cutting open the packaging and scraping the contents out, however this is not a practical suggestion when you have more than half a tube left and flat share. I also feel that whilst the packaging is of a soft plastic material it isn't soft enough to easily squeeze with one hand and two hands are required to move the product from the top of the packaging through the tube and onto your hand (awkward eh?).

My suggestion to Sunsilk would be to revert back to the packaging of a traditional shampoo/conditioner bottle which allows the product to flow from the packaging - making use easy.

I would recommend this product to others, however I would take the issue of packaging into account on purchase.
