Advantages: Reasonably priced, No white/grey marks, Smells Nice, Works!

Disadvantages: Results aren't long lasting.

I really tagged on to the craze of using dry shampoo right from the start and always have a can lying around just in case. If you aren't aware of dry shampoo, it is essentially a shampoo in a can which you spray directly on to the hair as you would hairspray, and it refreshes the hair in between washes and prevents it looking greasy. I found this useful as I am often quite busy, therefore if I have woken up and don't have time for a shower I tend to use these. I try to wash my hair once a day or else it starts to get greasy quite easily, so this is a fantastic product for those with greasy or oily hair. Until recently, I was pretty sure that the only brand available in dry shampoos was Batiste, which is quite famous for their high quality range of products. Unfortunately, they are priced quite highly, so I was over the moon when I came across these from Superdrug.

Superdrug has launched their own branded version of dry shampoo and they are available in a few different shades. I opted for 'Head in the Clouds' for no particular reason, but it looked quite nice and seemed perfect for me. This is available in two different sizes. The first is quite a small size which would be perfect for travelling and trips and this is 50ml and retails at around the £1.00 mark, and the larger 150ml size is around the £1.80 mark. Currently, all of them are on offer for 99p including the larger ones so it is good to wait around for the offers when you buy these. Even still, they are quite cheap at their retail price so I was happy to buy the larger one of these.

It is important that you realise that this dry shampoo is not for thoroughly cleaning your hair, and specifically states that it just refreshes the hair in between washes. It is perfect if you miss a shower or find your hair starting to go greasy, but it will never be to the standard of washing it yourself with shampoo, however it just makes it less flat and greasy and gives some life to it.

To use this is extremely easy, and all you need to do is remove the cap and spray directly on to all areas of the hair, and I try to focus mainly on my roots as this is where your hair gets the greasiest. Try to make sure you get all of the hair and just pat it through if necessary. It comes out just like a normal spray just as hairspray would, and you do not need loads to get a good coverage. Be sure that you pat with your hands and brush through the hair effectively to avoid getting any white or grey marks stuck in the hair.

The first thing I noticed when using this product is that it has a lovely scent to it. I was not sure what to expect of it, but it is quite a fruity, floral scent which is perfect for the upcoming summer and does leave your hair smelling nice and clean. Perhaps not a scent for everyone as it is quite girly, but I found it perfect for me.

I have to say that the results of this were brilliant, and my hair instantly looked much healthier and alive. It does refresh your hair for a good few hours if you are having a bit of a hair disaster and it looked a lot less greasier than originally. Obviously it doesn't work miracles, but it is effective at making your hair look fresher, and I think these would be great and especially handy for short trips such as camping or festival breaks where showers are hard to get. The results do fade quite quickly, and I did have to top mine up after a few hours, but overall I am quite happy with the results even if you get through a can of this quite quickly.

Overall, this is an extremely recommended dry shampoo from Superdrug, and I will definitely repurchase this in the future. It is of the same quality of Batiste products, so why pay more? Only buy this to refresh hair as opposed to washing it completely, but it is great for making your hair look healthier and fresher and reduce the greasiness. Thanks for reading.

Summary: Brilliant quality dry shampoo from Superdrug.
