Advantages: Great smell, better than average at conditioning hair
Disadvantages: Can make a mess, needs to stay on for 5-20 minutes at a time
I've been using this conditioner for a couple of years now, on and off. I'm not sure if this is because it's a particularly brilliant conditioner, or if it's just because it's a reasonable conditioner and so I can't really bothered to look for something new. Probably the latter.
The first positive thing I will say is that this conditioner has an amazing smell, and it lingers for hours after I've washed my hair- also, the longer it's left on for, the stronger the smell.
It's easy to take out of the container and spread onto your hair, and it comes in a massive pot so lasts for ages. The downside to this is that if you want to go on holiday, especially if you're travelling by plane, with the luggage allowance, you have to transfer some of it out of the bottle, as the thing is just far too impractical to take with you. Also, the lid is a screw top, which some people may not like. However, I've never had a problem with getting the product out of the bottle.
I tend to have very dry hair, and this conditioner does go some way towards improving the shine and softness of my hair. Also, I often find that other conditioners leave my hair full of static if I use them more than a couple of times in a row, which this one has never done.
On the downside, every time I go to the hairdressersI get told that my hair is full of split ends, and the last one advised me to buy an intensive conditioner that I could leave in overnight once a week or so, to improve the condition of my hair.
Perhaps if I left this particular conditioner in for the required length of time every time I used it (the bottle says that this is between 5 and 20 minutes, depending on the depth of conditioning required), or at least a couple of times a week, then it would have the desired effect, but to be honest, this just seems like too much hassle to me. For one thing, the product is a deep brown colour and I would have to put off doing anything else until the time came for it to be rinsed back off, as it would stain all manner of things in the meantime otherwise.
I think it may just be time for me to move on to a leave-in conditioner, with minimum hassle!
I don't remember exactly how much I paid for this product, but it was certainly a lot less than one of the more recognised hair-care brands would have been, and as I said, the bottle is huge. Also, Superdrug seem to often have a 2 for 1 offer on on this product, among others in their range, so it's definitely good value for money.
Summary: a good value product, if you're willing to spare the time to use it
