Advantages: lovely smell

Disadvantages: made my hair dry, worst shampoo I've ever used!

My hair is disaster, curly and thick it is a nightmare for every hairdresser. I just have to wash it every day and accordingly blow dry it every single morning.
Normally I invest quite a lot in hair care but at the moment I really need to save money for my upcoming trip to Asia. The Superdrug 2-for-1 offer came like a god send to me; shampoo and conditioner for 98 pence!

The label is very promising, the Coconut & Sweet Almond shampoo is supposed to 'help restore moisture and shine' and is especially suitable for 'dry and damaged hair'. Sounds good but unfortunately that's as far away from the reality as possible. My hair felt even drier after using the shampoo!

Look & Smell

The bottle looks quite good with the black & white design and the image of a coconut and almonds on the front. The shampoo looks silvery shiny.

The smell is great, the first thing I noticed was this lovely coconut smell. You cannot really smell the almost but they make the overall smell sweeter. I actually smells like something I'd love to eat!

The smell actually stays with you for a while and your hairs smell of coconut for at least 2 hours. I just love coconut - it reminds me of beaches, palmtrees and sun.

Using it

I could rename this chapter to downsides, from working it in your hair to the end result it's a big disaster. Firstly I needed lots of it to create any foam. Than I could instantly feel that my hair was sticking together and didn't feel clean at all as it normally does with other shampoos.

Combing it took me more than twice as long as usual and after a few days I realised how dry my hair was getting sine I started using the shampoo.
As recommended I also used the conditioner but that didn't make any difference.

All in all a huge disappointment; easily the worst shampoo I ever used and definitely the first I've ever thrown away!

Price & Value

The normal price is 98 pence but I got both the shampoo and the conditioner with a 2 for 1 offer, 49p is not bad for a 300ml bottle of shampoo! Unfortunately it's not even worth these few pence, it made my hair drier than it was before and I've thrown it away after using it for a week.

My conclusion is that I'll happily pay more and have healthy and good looking hair than saving a few pence.
