I have quite long thick hair that goes kinky and a bit wavy especially after having up in a bun etc and I hate brushing it out and losing loads of hair so thought I would try this. ordered online and has good packaging. the brush is amazing at getting my hair brushed and detangled without pain and losing a lot of hair! don't know how it works but I really does, a definite investment piece! my younger sister always back combs her hair and never brushes it and I tried it on her and it was great, no moans and had it straight in seconds! great product, bit pricey but worth it I love how it also fits in your bag so you can take it anywhere with you. Quite pricey but your hair definatly deserves it. I think it is a great product especially for long hair that is prone to getting knotty. BUY!
I have bought one of these little brushes to try out after noticing my usual brush was pulling out a lot of hair. This brush fits snugly in the hand and is incredibly gentle and doesn't pull on my scalp and make it sore. It moves quickly through long wet hair and leaves it tangle free without having to use conditioner so its great if you are in a bit of a hurry in the morning! On dry hair it works equally as well and I would rate this as a "must have" product every girl should have in her handbag.I take mine with me when I go swimming and get my hairdresser to use it after she washes my hair.It is a brilliant little invention and I only wish it had been available when my children were small and cried every time they had to have tangles combed out of their curly locks.
I have afro curly hair and I have found this hairbrush to be very gentle with my hair. I can barely feel it when I brush my hair with this brush. For my hair its best brushed with lots of conditioner or even damp/wet and the brush slides straight through I wish I had this brush when I was a child! As the brush has short bristles it doesn't feel like it brushes a huge amount of hair so its best to section the hair into 4 or 6 and brush it section by section. The only thing I don't like is cleaning the brush it does take a while but I have found that if you use a nail brush or an unused toothbrush it will do the job! This is a great gift to anyone you know that has a child who doesn't like having their hair done they will thank you!
This is actually the best invention since sliced bread. This product claims to glide through your hair no matter how wet or how knotty your hair is, and it does not disappoint. You are guaranteed no pain or struggles. You don't even need conditioner in your hair for this to work 100% effectively. This is the perfect product for people who are head sore or can be prone to hair loss. I would even recommend parents to use it for children who hate having their hair brushed. I am desperate to grow my hair and am particularly prone to hair loss. Since I've started using this product I've noticed my hair is starting to feel fuller and developing less split ends. The price is also pretty incredible for such a miracle worker. There are some downsides though. Although ergonomically this fits perfectly in your hand, I would prefer a proper handle like a real hairbrush. Also, I find this gets very greasy very quickly, so you end up having to wash it quite often, certainly more frequently than any other brushes. The bristles get bent vey easily, so I am not sure how long it will be effective before you have to replace it, but for the price this shouldn't be a problem. Overall I would definitely recommend this product.
I remember when Tangle Teezers were on Dragons Den years ago and admittedly I thought 'Surely a little hairbrush like that cannot be that great', so after my initial thought process when I did see these hit the shelves I didn't bother to buy one. However someone I worked with bought one and she completely converted me and then when I read all of the reviews online I just had to have one. You can get two types of Tangle Teezer you can get one which is just the brush or you can pay a little bit extra and get a brush which has a cover. I went for the one with the cover as I know what states my handbag can get into, the last thing I was is bits of rubbish in my hairbrush! So firstly lets talk about the design of the brush, I absolutely love it! The brush is curved so it fits nicely into your hands making it easy to brush through your hair. I have used compact brushes in the past which have been quite small and fiddly which made it difficult to brush my hair. The tangle teezer is about the size of my hand so is the right size to hold but it is not big to the point where it becomes a hassle to carry it around in my bag. The bristles of the brush are really bendy which helps to smooth away knots without all the tugging and pulling you get from a normal hair brush. The bristles are designed in a way that lets them work together to work through any knots in your hair without any unnecessary force. No more pain! I really like this brush. I have used it on wet and dry hair and it makes brushing so much easier with less 'Aaahh'-ing. My hair is quite thin so does tend to get knotty especially in the wind and when I use this brush the knots just seem to disappear without me even really noticing and my hair is left soft and smooth. This is not the cheapest hair brush on the market and it is certainly not the cheapest compact brush considering you can pick up those mini pop out brushes for about a £1. The prices for this one range between £10 and £13 online and in various stores. I have had my brush for around 8 months and it is still as good as new with all the bristles in tacked. So in the long run I think these are probably better value for money. This is certainly the best compact hair brush I have used and may be one of the best brushes I have used full stop. A big thumbs up for the Tangle Teezer!
I'm not sure if I've been missing something but I caved and bought a Tangle Teezer after the rave reviews on many sites. I just can't get on with it at all! I find the shape of the item really difficult to hold , it frequently falls out of my small hands and is uncomfortable. I haven't noticed any difference in the ease of removing my tangles from my long, thick hair. in fact my regular brush/comb do this better. The condition of my hair is the same (I have used this product for many months as I didn't want to waste money). I also find it really difficult to get loose hairs out of the bristles, the bristles are too small to be able to quickly grab the hair out from and it's just a pain. Obviously there are a lot of people who love this product but it just didn't work out for me.
I previously brought this product a couple of months ago from a hair salon, costing me at the time around £10. Id not spent this much on a brush before but thought I would give it a go. I was totally amazed with the product, my hair is naturally quite knotty, so was very shocked when it just glided through my hair. There was no tugging or pulling, like you get with normal brushes. The prongs of the brush come in two sizes, in rows of big and small. This is what separates it from the other brushes around. The ergonomic handle makes the brush very easy to hold and use. Comes in a lot of different colours and styles. This product is a life saver! Would also recommend to people with young children who hate having their hair brushed especially if its knotty like mine. My 7 year old sister will not use anything else!! The only thing I would say is that I would not recommend using the tangle teezer whilst using hair styling appliances (straighteners/curlers) as its only plastic so easy to melt. But overall a very very good product! Money saving tip!- I have just seen these in poundland, almost replica product
The tangle teaser is amazing, I saw a lot about these products over the internet and also advertised in local store , I picked mine up from my local boots and chose the leopard print. I especially think this product works well for hair that is dry, damaged and prone to breakage. Hair when wet/damp is more likely to breakage as hair turns more elastic when wet, this means you should treat it with great care. I used to not brush hair at all as I would get too much breakage, but with this product I can! As it's so small you can fit it in your handbag and use during the day if needed although I find it works better on wet hair! They also come in all sorts of fashionable colours and prints! I overall rate the tangle teaser very highly for brushing wet hair which is its main purpose, although I'm sure would be suitable for dry use on thinner hair.
After buying and loving a full-size Tangle Teezer hairbrush (previously reviewed), I decided to purchase a compact version to take to work, on holiday and out and about generally. The compact stylers are available in pink, gold and leopard print; I chose the pink one. The Tangle Teezer is a relatively modern hairbrush designed with a unique "teeth configuration". In plain English, this means that it helps to get rid of tangles, as well as helping to maintain shiny hair. The product is designed for all hair types, although those with shorter hair might find it a little tricky to use - this is less of an issue with the compact styler, which is smaller than the standard brush. My original Tangle Teezer is a one-piece item that I use every single day, several times a day. It's my go-to hairbrush for brushing my hair after washing and before bed, and I use it other times as needed. Since I grew my hair longer, I tend to leave it to dry naturally in the morning, as I no longer need to straighten it. The hairbrush is ideal for this purpose as running it through my hair a couple of times smooths out any tangles that have resulted from wrapping my hair in a towel to dry, helping it to dry smoothly. The brush glides through my hair and is better than any brush or comb I have ever used in terms of removing tangles - I experience almost no pulling or tangles at all when using this product. It is claimed that the brush is ideal for use on children's hair, and while I don't have children myself I can well believe this claim - I remember I used to hate having my hair brushed as a child, because of the painful tangles, and I am sure I would have loved this brush. Over time, I have noticed that my hair is more shiny and is generally in better condition since using this brush. I am sure this is partly down to the fact that I have stopped straightening and blow-drying it every day, but I am positive this brush has played a part, since it is obvious I have fewer tangles when using this, and it is much more gentle on my hair. My compact Tangle Teezer does exactly what my original one does, but it is much more portable. It takes a bit more time and effort to brush my hair with this one, as it is smaller; also, it is slightly trickier to hold (but only if I'm being picky). The smaller size makes it perfect for a mid-size handbag, and it's also the brush I use if I'm going on holiday. This brush has a detachable plastic 'lid' that protects the bristles of the brush so that they don't bend while the brush is in your bag. The lid is very secure and doesn't come off by itself, but it is easily removable when needed. The brush isn't really designed for styling purposes, so though it is fine for giving your hair a quick brush, it can't really help you with an elaborate style. However, the occasions on which I would want to do this are considerably limited anyway! This version of the Tangle Teezer is actually more expensive than the original - it costs £12.50. However, as with the original, I love the product so much that I don't begrudge the price. The Tangle Teezer is available in a number of styles and designs, including the original design, this compact size and a flowerpot style which has a handy pot to keep hair bobbles in. I definitely recommend the product - it is an essential item in my haircare repertoire and I only wish I'd got one years ago!
I brought this Tangle teezer from my local boots in Birmingham. I needed a product that was going to help my damaged hair when brushing, as I was losing so much hair. My hair was badly damaged, because I have had it coloured and bleach regularly for many years. I often found that when I wash my hair, my hair would be very luggy and completely unmanageable, and I found it extremely difficult to get a brush or even a comb through my hair. I was recommended this product from a friend, who's also had the same case with her own hair due to having coloured it, and she told me since she had been using it her hair had been in a much better condition. After buying this from boots, I washed my hair and straight away I couldn't believe it, I could finally untangle my hair without causing further damage. Straight away I tell the results were going to be worth it. My unruly hair was now completely untangled, and smooth. I have now been using this product for a couple of months and already the results in my hair is amazing, the condition has improved, I have more elasticity and strength in my hair. It is also growing much more due to the bristles stimulating my scalp.
I have to say I love Tangle Teezer! I bought it in Boots about 3 years ago, mine is bright pink and costed me around £10 that time. I bought it tempted by my friend who said there is something to comb long hair like mine and apparently it doesn't root your hair out! I decided to try and this product is my hit:) It helps me to detangle my hair after washing and doesn't feel like if it was more damaged (although Tangle's teeth are spiky and looks a bit sharp). Whole Teezer is made with plastic, also teeth, and its long lasting as mine is almost 3 years old and is still in great condition. Easy to wash, hygienic and very gentle to your hair. I found it great after washing my hair, I use it when my hair is still wet, so all excess of the hair is removed and than I apply any cosmetics like conditioner, hair mousse, oils etc. I have to add that it's also easy to hold and not slippery so it makes it easier to use. I can't imagine going back again to normal brushes and combs! This is a must have for girls with a long and mid long hair. If you want to say good bye to pulling and tearing...get a Tangle Teezer!:)))
As one of my stocking fillers for Christmas last year, I was given a Tangle Teezer Studio Compact. My husband, who must have seen the amount of times that I will at random brush my hair throughout the day, opted for this brush in black and I was both surprised and please when I opened it. As those who own one will know, the Tangle Teezer is by design quite an interesting looking black case and it did take a couple of guesses for me to realise its purpose. Having a quick look on the company internet, the history of the Tangle Teezer is as follows; The Tangle Teezer was invented to overcome a salon problem whereby newly dyed and fragile hair was hacked with a comb. The inventor, "Sean P" realised the need for a new tool which detangled hair without fighting or locking in tangles. In answer to this he created specifically spaced and designed teeth that would run through the hair without pulling. Thus the Tangle Teezer was born. My Tangle Teezer is black in colour, and is by definition the 'Rock Star' option. It looks in shape like an off centre parallelogram with curved corners and a shiny black finish and I quite like the look of it being quite modern in design and not too girly. On the top of my brush the Tangle Teezer text is imprinted into the plastic of the case which gave me a hint as to what it was for. My Tangle Teezer measures as follows:- Length - Just under 90mm Width - 65mm Depth - 40mm This size means that it is compact enough to fit in my everyday handbag and sits quite happily at the base of my bag in between uses. Opening this tangle Teezer is simply a case of pulling off the lid which opens with a click. The lid is connected to the base with a black lever which slots neatly into the brush to protect the bristles when not in use. Inside, the brush is black in colour and features a number of bristles in a soft plastic which alternate in length between long and short. Pressing the bristles against my hand they feel soft, however they do feel slightly scratchy when run over my scalp although they don't seem to snag in my hair. This Tangle Teezer can be used simply by holding on to the base of the brush and running the bristles through your hair. I do think that the shiny plastic finish has the potential to be slippery, and that I do have to cling onto the base of the brush in order to prevent it from pinging out of my hand during brushing. However, the lack of a handle is what makes this brush compact and therefore I can't complain too much. Now I have quite fine hair and this causes much consternation particularly as I come from a family of people with very thick tresses. That being said, I had high hopes for this hair brush having read online that it suits fine hair. I have recently had my hair cut and therefore it sits just below my ears, as a result I do not have a big problem with tangles however do have the occasional knot in my hair when I come in from a windy walk. This brush seems to run easily through my hair from mid length through to the ends and seems to glide through tangles without catching or snagging in my hair and without leaving my hair looking flyaway as a result of static. However, when using this brush at the roots of my hair I do find that it can be a little scratchy on my scalp and it was this fact that made me doubt the claims that it was for fine hair. Another small gripe that I have with this brush in particular is the colour. Although it does come in a variety of shades I own the black option and this has a tendency to go missing in my handbag. The black colour meaning that it sinks into the depths of my bag requiring more than a little rummaging to get it out again. Had I of been buying this brush for myself therefore I might have opted for a slightly brighter colour way. On a positive note, I like the fact that this brush has a lid which is easy to click on and off. The presence of a lid means that the bristles are protected in between uses and prevents crumbs and small particles in my bag sticking to the bristles. Likewise it also prevents hair strands from being lost from the bristles into my handbag. However, the lid is not in any way connected to the body of brush when removed and could potentially go wandering should you be rushing your hair in a hurry. Although I did not buy this brush myself, a look online reveals that it can currently be purchased from such online retailers as Feel Unique for £12.25 and from other retailers such as Beauty Bay for £10.79. In my opinion this is a fair bit to pay for a compact hair brush that spends most of its life sat in my handbag and therefore I am grateful that it was a gift. I am not sure if I would spend this kind of money on buying one of these for myself however feel that it is a good gift, particularly for those blessed with thick hair which requires regular grooming. Overall, this is quite a good product and it therefore scores an average three star rating from me. I feel that the price is slightly too much for what is in essence just a compact brush and that there are alternative brushes out there which do a better job. I hope this review has been of some help and thanks for reading! x
