Advantages: The best brush I've had!

Disadvantages: Not so good if you plait your hair to make it curly

Having bought this for around £6 on offer at a health and beauty show, I was delighted to see it appear in Boots for close to £10, where it is still currently being sold.

I do unashamedly buy a lot of luxury hair care, probably too much. (OK, Definety too much) but I never spend a lot on the accessories, brushes, combs etc all are readily picked up from the 99p store or from my stash of free combs which were given out at my previous gym. So spending £6 on a brush was a bit way-out-there for me. But, it has paid off!

This brush is excellent, it's really one of the best brushes I have used, and further to that, has opened up a whole new world to me: the luxury hair accessory ranges...

The tangle teaser, very simply put is a hair brush. Its designed to brush through tangles with ease, it has no handle, you hold it in the palm of your hand, and it also appeared on the Dungeons Dragon TV series a while back and comes in several colours: pink, black and purple with glitter in. (I have the black, they are all the same, all do the same thing, colour regardless.) On first glance, you really think, "what's all the fuss about, it's just a normal hair brush but with no handle". But for some reason, it works. There are still one or two snag-type pulls, but overall they are so greatly reduced that when you switch back to a normal brush, it's just not the same!

I love how the brush is held in the palm of your hand too. It does make a difference, and recently having gone to visit my mum, I used a brush she had. It was not a tangle teaser. It was a paddle brush. It just was not the same. I ended up using the brush by holding onto the head of the brush, and ignoring the handle. It still didn't feel the same; you see the difference with the Tangle Teaser is that it's arched to fit into the palm of your hand with comfort.

I think it must be this that makes the brush seem to flow better when in use. The few tangles that do get caught are nowhere near as painful. I have tested this by being stuck in the back of a car on the motorway, windows wide open, hair everywhere as my niece had taken a liking to my hair band which unbeknown to me, I would never see again once I handed them over at the start of the journey. My hair did have a few knots in, (OK, "manic hair" fits better) but they just seemed easier to brush, less painful and faster to deal with. Very recommended!

I also have found it's very easy to carry around in a bag. You don't end up with the contents of your bag on the floor as inadvertently, the handle drags everything out when hauling it out from the bottom of your bag, there is no handle! Problem solved! It's also a lot lighter then most normal brushes, and as it has plastic bristles, is easier to clean out then a wooden or metal bristled brush, making it again, a good buy.

Small children would like this if they have unruly hair as much as adults who have had any need for a brush. It works for everyone but best for those with hair which is either thick, long or messy.

Could I better it?
Well, the only changes I would make are to design different sizes- a smaller bag sized one would be great, though without reducing the bristle size which I think is perfect. Also, a wooden design could be good as wooden brushes are said to be helpful to combing through the natural oils in your hair. I think this combined with the style of the brush would make it a really fantastic product. Although a little heavy!
The only problem I have had with the brush is when I plait my hair to make it curly. Normally I can give it a quick brush and it's ready to go with a subtle curl. With this brush all curls are gone. In its place is a lot of volume. Whilst this brush is excellent on straighter styles, it's not so good on (unnaturally) curled hair.

If I lost this, would I buy again?
You bet I would!

Summary: Buy buy buy!
