Advantages: It's affective, easy and comfortable to grip

Disadvantages: It's not made with left handed comfort in mind, its not cheap.

I was advised to purchase this after a visit to our local children's hairdressers. They use these there and they totally recommend them and it appeared to work well on my daughters hair when she was in the salon. They hadn't anymore in stock but i was advised that I could get one in Boot's the Chemist.

My daughter was quite taken with this brush and she wanted me to go and instantly buy one (which was a promising result :-)).

I was able to pick one up in Boots for around £10.00, I'm aware that they do come in various colours and my daughter would have preferred a pink one (naturally) however they only had black in stock when I purchased mine.

I would say it resembles a horse brush. Though a lot of thought has definitely been put into the design of this brush, I would say it was manufactured with right handed people in my mind as it seems more ideally shaped for being held in the right hand. It has an indented part where the fleshy part at the bottom of your thumb fits perfectly, and another much smaller indent towards the top of the left side for a finger to comfortably rest (this left and right description is from looking at the brush face on at the bristles).

It fits comfortable into the palm of my hand, but I don't think it would feel comfortable and great to hold for a child's hand.

The brush is made of plastic and has soft bristles without the little ball bits on the end and the bristles are in 2 different lengths the longest are about a centimeter in length and the shorter ones are half the size.

I do find this brush much better to use on my daughter. She has loose curls in her mid back length hair, her hair tangles really easy and she doesn't like really having her hair touched at all or brushed.

Her hair gets matted really easily through the night so morning brushes are a huge episode in our house. I start brushing the knots and tangles out from the bottom of her hair and work upwards.

Overall I do find this brush much easier to use on my daughters hair than all the many other types of brushes I have used on her in the last 8 years. It's definitely less harsh on the strands of hair but is effective in quickly removing the knots and tangles. It's even more effective if used with a conditioner/ detangling spray, another tip is to actually brush the hair when they are in the bath, although awkward to do I appreciate.

My opinion is that although this is an effective product £10.00 is a steep price for this plastic brush, however, if I were to lose this one I would be buying another one despite this price.

I'm not aware of being able to purchase this for any cheaper than the £10.00.

Summary: Overprice but essential and effective in my house.
