Advantages: Not tested on animals, good price, smells like holidays, leaves hair soft and tangle-free-ish

Disadvantages: Not so good at getting hair shiny as pricier brands

Packaging: The packaging is mostly white plastic, which can be recycled in some areas. The bottle looks quite smart when stood alongside its sister Tesco Coconut Shampoo. As well as the list of ingredients, the label also contains the magical line: Products and ingredients not tested on animals by or for Tesco.


Product: This is a rich creamy white conditioner which goes straight onto wet hair (no fiddling about towelling it a bit first), and rinses out easily. There is not suggested minimum time for leaving it in your hair, but presumably the longer you can leave it, the better it will be. The fragrance is of coconut (as you would expect), and lasts for a long time afterwards, giving wafts of holidays and Malibu! Although the coconut smells nice, it does smell more like fake-coconut than real coconut.


Effect: I have only used this alongside Tesco's Coconut Shampoo, and it does leave my hair feeling soft and easy to get my brush through it. Although it isn't as good as Pantene / Charles Worthington for making my hair mirror-shiny, it does its job and is an effective conditioner. Because it isn't tested on animals, I also am happy to use it - which I wouldn't be with products from L'Oreal and so forth.

Summary: Not the best at making my hair mirror-shiny, but it does its job and is cruelty free.
