“ Brand: Tesco / in 1 Shampoo / Type: Hair Shampoo / Subcategory: 2 in 1 Shampoo „
This is not designed for me, being an adult and all! However, I was going through a period where my hair was tangling like mad when I washed it and got sick of pulling it out by the roots when I brushed it afterwards. A kids detangling shampoo seemed to be the sensible solution. I picked this bottle up for around £1.60 I think - it's been a while!
It smells like calpol. I don't mean this to sound bad - I love the smell of calpol! - but it's that vaguely pink sweet smell that doesn't smell so much of any real fruit as it does fruit flavouring in the sort of sweets that come with 500 e-numbers. I like it, I suspect a lot of little girls would like it, but I'm not sure little boys would so much.
It's quite thick, and works up a good lather pretty quick - good if you're trying to get hair-washing over and done with in a hurry. It's also meant to be a shampoo and conditioner in one, but I can't say my hair felt significantly more conditioned after using.
It did however stop my hair tangling after washing - a great relief to me! It also doesn't sting if you get it in your eyes - an advantage if you're using it on tinies!
My little girl loves Cherry Crush shampoo from Tesco's. I was buying the Banana Dip shampoo from the same range for some time prior to buying this one, and they are both equally nice. The design of the bottles have now changed from the old orange coloured bottle with the flip top lids. They are now a plainer looking, white bottle with a picture of a little girl on the front having her hair washed! I actually prefer the newer looking bottles as the older design made me mistake them for the L'Oreal for Kids brand, as they were very similar in shape and design.
The new bottles still have a flip top lid and are still the same size as they were before. I pay 82p for this 300ml sized bottle from Tesco and as Sarah is the only one in our house who uses this shampoo, a bottle of this size obviously lasts us for ages.
The reason I like this shampoo so much is because it is a two in one formulation, i.e. shampoo and conditioner in one, which make hair-washing time so much easier. There's no need to have to use a separate conditioner. I have to use some form of conditioning treatment on my daughter's hair because if I didn't, there would be tears. She has rather thick and curly hair (unlike her mum) and trying to comb it through after hair washing can be a bit of an nightmare. This shampoo really does make a huge difference in that respect.
The shampoo itself is medium thickness in consistency and is a pale pink in colour. I was expecting it to be dark red, but it's not. The smell is simply wonderful. It has a rich, intense aroma and a lovely smell of fresh cherries. It lathers up really well and rinses of easily.
My daughter's hair is not only easier to comb though after using this shampoo but it also smells great, fresh and clean for days after we've used it. She calls it her 'cherry hair'. Another good point is that if we ever run out of bubble bath, this makes a great substitute. It doesn't dry the skin when used this way, even though obviously it's intended for hair washing primarily. It has a no tears formulation too, which is another great plus and we're hooked.

As I said in my review for the Banana variety of this shampoo as someone who goes swimming regularly I buy whatever is cheap just to wash my hair and remove the chlorine before going home. This shampoo comes in a different packaging from the one pictured above, it comes in a white bottle with a sticker on the front of a young girl with bubbles in her hair. The shampoo is only 82p in Tesco and you get 300ml for that price.
The bottle recommends this for curly/wavy hair. The first thing you notice about this shampoo is the smell. It smells like the cherry drip sweets you can get. This shampoo is for kids but I bought it because of the price and the lovely smell. It has a pale pink colour, it is also a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner and has a tear free formula.
This lathers up really well and rinses away cleanly. After using this my hair felt really soft and there were no tangles. This would be great for young children due to the smell and colour.
It is great value for the price that you pay and it suited my hair really well. I got better results from this than brands that have cost ten times as much!
I would give this 5 out of 5 I love this and the Banana Dip variety. You can't go wrong for the price. I have also discovered it makes a good bubble bath!
While in the shampoo section of the supermarket one day, my 5yr old daughter decided that she did not want to use my shampoo anymore - she wanted her own!! She finally decided on the Tesco Cherry Crush 2 in 1 Shampoo, as it was red (one of her favourite colours) and it smelt like cherry. And at only 39p for a 250ml bottle, I thought it was a real bargain.
This shampoo is a brilliant shampoo for kids, my daughter loves it and it smells lovely - it is not too over powering, unlike some other shampoo's I have tried before. And a small blob really does go a long way and my daughter has long, thick, curly hair. She has her hair washed around twice a week, so a bottle lasts around 6 months. It also leaves her hair feeling really clean and soft.
This really is a great shampoo for your children, great price, lovely smell. No need to spend more on the leading brands - as this does just as good a job.
For the past four months or so I have been using Tesco Kids 2in1 shampoo on the kids hair. Before I discovered the Tesco 2in1 shampoo I was regularly purchasing either the Avon shampoo and conditioner for kids or the L'Oreal one for them. The Tesco 2in1 shampoo is a lot cheaper than most of the other kids shampoos in the supermarkets and only costs 39p for a 250ml bottle which is great value for money considering most of the other shampoos cost between 99p-£1.99 a bottle. Even although this 2in1 shampoo is a cheap supermarket brand I personally thing it is just as good as the higher priced sampoos which are designed for childrens hair types.
As you can see from the picture at the top of this review the bottle of shampoo is supplied in a red plastic squeezable bottle which is a rather chunky shape and design and resembles a tear drop shape. On the top of the bottle there is alos a red plastic flip style lid which you just flip upwards to open the shampoo and flip downwards to close it and prevent it from leaking everywhere. I think that the bottle somewhat resembles the L'Oreal Kids shampoo packaging because it has a similar shape and design to it. On the front of the Tesco 2in1 shampoo bottle there is a small picture of a yellow duck printed onto the lable which gives the bottle a fun looking design which I think makes it appeal to younger kids.
There is only one thing which I dislike about the bottle and that it the fact that it isn't see through. When I am purchasing beauty products I tend to purchase ones which have see through bottles because I can easily see how much of the product I am using and how much is remaining inside the bottle. As I've said in lots of other reviews I have written I am usually quite disappointed with some shampoos and body lotions etc which I have bought because some of them are too thin and runny in consistency, but I actually like the consistency of this one because it isn't too think or too thin. It has a nice medium consistency. The shampoo inside the bottle resembles a clear gel like liquid which has a very light subtle shade of pink through it. The medium consistency of the shampoo means that it is easily applied to the kids hair and it washes off easily. If it had been a lot thicker in cinsistency then I think that it would have took longer to wash off their hair.
When I was using the shampoo on the kids hair I found that a small blob the size of a twenty pence piece was a sufficient amount to use on the kids hair on order to full wash it. As soon as the shampoo was applied to their hair it produced a nice creamy thick lather quite quickly. Obvioulsy if you are using this shampoo on boys who have short hair styles then you will only have to use a very small amount. I found that a twenty pence piece sized amount was enough to use on thick wavy shoulder length hair. The more you massage the shampoo into the hair the more bubbles and lather it produces.
When I was rinsing the shampoo of the hair I found that it rinsed off rather quickly and didn't leave any residue or bubbles on the hair and scalp. After all of the shampoo is rinsed out of the hair it feels really soft and squeaky clean. Even if you happen to get a little amount of the shampoo into the eyes it diesnt sting or nip them very much, all you need to do is give the eyes a little rinse out with some water and everythings fine. Once the hair was towel dried I could easily comb the hair through with a brush and didn't any knots or tangles which is a good thing. I though t that I would have possibly had to use a conditioner or a detangling spray in the kids hair to combat the tangles but I was surprised that I didn't need to use any of them.
I absolutely love the smell of the shampoo because it is fresh and fruity and almost good enough to eat. On the bottle it states that the shampoo has a Cherry Crush fragrance which it does. I really love anything which tastes or smells of cherries so this shampoo is a favourite of mines simply because of the smell oh and the results. The cherry smell is really fresh and not too strong or overpowering, I think that it actually smells like Cherry Hubba Bubba chewing gum; mainly because it has more of an artificial cherry aroma compared to fresh cherries. The cherry aroma from the shampoo lingered in the bathroom for a short time after I had washed the kids hair, the fragrance also lingered on their hair for a long time after I had washed it with the shampoo. I would say that the fragrance from the shampoo lingered in their hair for well over 12 hours. It definitely left their hair smelling fresh and clean.
I have been using the Tesco 2in1 Cherry Crush shampoo on the kids hair for about 4 months now and It keeps their hair looking in tip top condition. Their hair always looks clean and shiny and of course it smells fantastic all the time. Since I have been using this shampoo in the kids hair they haven't suffered from any reactions to it such as dry flaky scalp or itching. So it is really gentle on their hair and scalp. A 250ml bottle of Tesco 2in1 Cherry Crush Shampoo costs 39p and a bottle of this usually lasts me about 2 months before I need to replace it. Which is really good considering I have three kids in the house who each get their hair washed almost every night.
You can only purchase this shampoo from Tesco's because it is a Tesco branded product. The shampoo isn't tested on animals. For more information on Tesco's or any of their products then you can visit their website which is www.tesco.com.
The Tesco Kids 2 in 1 Shampoo is also available in two other fragrances which are ~
