Advantages: smells great, gentle on hair and scalp, detangles hair
Disadvantages: none
For the past four months or so I have been using Tesco Kids 2in1 shampoo on the kids hair. Before I discovered the Tesco 2in1 shampoo I was regularly purchasing either the Avon shampoo and conditioner for kids or the L'Oreal one for them. The Tesco 2in1 shampoo is a lot cheaper than most of the other kids shampoos in the supermarkets and only costs 39p for a 250ml bottle which is great value for money considering most of the other shampoos cost between 99p-£1.99 a bottle. Even although this 2in1 shampoo is a cheap supermarket brand I personally thing it is just as good as the higher priced sampoos which are designed for childrens hair types.
As you can see from the picture at the top of this review the bottle of shampoo is supplied in a red plastic squeezable bottle which is a rather chunky shape and design and resembles a tear drop shape. On the top of the bottle there is alos a red plastic flip style lid which you just flip upwards to open the shampoo and flip downwards to close it and prevent it from leaking everywhere. I think that the bottle somewhat resembles the L'Oreal Kids shampoo packaging because it has a similar shape and design to it. On the front of the Tesco 2in1 shampoo bottle there is a small picture of a yellow duck printed onto the lable which gives the bottle a fun looking design which I think makes it appeal to younger kids.
There is only one thing which I dislike about the bottle and that it the fact that it isn't see through. When I am purchasing beauty products I tend to purchase ones which have see through bottles because I can easily see how much of the product I am using and how much is remaining inside the bottle. As I've said in lots of other reviews I have written I am usually quite disappointed with some shampoos and body lotions etc which I have bought because some of them are too thin and runny in consistency, but I actually like the consistency of this one because it isn't too think or too thin. It has a nice medium consistency. The shampoo inside the bottle resembles a clear gel like liquid which has a very light subtle shade of pink through it. The medium consistency of the shampoo means that it is easily applied to the kids hair and it washes off easily. If it had been a lot thicker in cinsistency then I think that it would have took longer to wash off their hair.
When I was using the shampoo on the kids hair I found that a small blob the size of a twenty pence piece was a sufficient amount to use on the kids hair on order to full wash it. As soon as the shampoo was applied to their hair it produced a nice creamy thick lather quite quickly. Obvioulsy if you are using this shampoo on boys who have short hair styles then you will only have to use a very small amount. I found that a twenty pence piece sized amount was enough to use on thick wavy shoulder length hair. The more you massage the shampoo into the hair the more bubbles and lather it produces.
When I was rinsing the shampoo of the hair I found that it rinsed off rather quickly and didn't leave any residue or bubbles on the hair and scalp. After all of the shampoo is rinsed out of the hair it feels really soft and squeaky clean. Even if you happen to get a little amount of the shampoo into the eyes it diesnt sting or nip them very much, all you need to do is give the eyes a little rinse out with some water and everythings fine. Once the hair was towel dried I could easily comb the hair through with a brush and didn't any knots or tangles which is a good thing. I though t that I would have possibly had to use a conditioner or a detangling spray in the kids hair to combat the tangles but I was surprised that I didn't need to use any of them.
I absolutely love the smell of the shampoo because it is fresh and fruity and almost good enough to eat. On the bottle it states that the shampoo has a Cherry Crush fragrance which it does. I really love anything which tastes or smells of cherries so this shampoo is a favourite of mines simply because of the smell oh and the results. The cherry smell is really fresh and not too strong or overpowering, I think that it actually smells like Cherry Hubba Bubba chewing gum; mainly because it has more of an artificial cherry aroma compared to fresh cherries. The cherry aroma from the shampoo lingered in the bathroom for a short time after I had washed the kids hair, the fragrance also lingered on their hair for a long time after I had washed it with the shampoo. I would say that the fragrance from the shampoo lingered in their hair for well over 12 hours. It definitely left their hair smelling fresh and clean.
I have been using the Tesco 2in1 Cherry Crush shampoo on the kids hair for about 4 months now and It keeps their hair looking in tip top condition. Their hair always looks clean and shiny and of course it smells fantastic all the time. Since I have been using this shampoo in the kids hair they haven't suffered from any reactions to it such as dry flaky scalp or itching. So it is really gentle on their hair and scalp. A 250ml bottle of Tesco 2in1 Cherry Crush Shampoo costs 39p and a bottle of this usually lasts me about 2 months before I need to replace it. Which is really good considering I have three kids in the house who each get their hair washed almost every night.
You can only purchase this shampoo from Tesco's because it is a Tesco branded product. The shampoo isn't tested on animals. For more information on Tesco's or any of their products then you can visit their website which is www.tesco.com.
The Tesco Kids 2 in 1 Shampoo is also available in two other fragrances which are ~
Melon and Pear
Banana
