Tesco Tea Tree Shampoo
Advantages: Suits all hair types
Disadvantages: Can't be used as an effective headlouse treatment
This shampoo currently costs only 99p for a 750ml bottle. You can also buy a matching 750ml conditioner , also for only 99p.
I have to say I'm very impressed by this shampoo. In our household we all have our special favourite shampoos, except my husband due to a regrettable lack of hair these days.(I regret it anyway, he doesn't seem to mind). However the Tesco Tea Tea shampoo is a perfectly good standby, and will not harm any type of hair, and is perfectly suitable for children, as it is pleasant ,and mild. The label states that it is suitable for everyday use, indeed if you like to wash your hair everyday this may be a good choice, although I don't usually do this, recently due to a problem with hair dye, I decided to wash my hair daily, I found the Tea Tree shampoo lovely and refreshing without irritating or drying my scalp.
Tea tree oil is well known as having antiseptic and head louse deterrent properties. However I can't totally recommend the shampoo for this purpose. My grandaughter's class has a bit of a problem with head lice, my daughters attempts to control these outbreaks with Tea Tree shampoo, a tooth comb and the conditioner have not worked, the products designed specifically for head louse removal will do the trick. Even so, the use of the shampoo, conditioner, and an occasional sweep through with a tooth comb may act as a deterrant, though Tesco themselves do not make this claim.
The shampoo comes in a slightly opaque plastic bottle which can be recycled where facilities are available. It is a nice mint green colour, flowing easily, but not too runny. The smell is just right, in my opinion, minty enough to feel cool, clean and refreshing, but not harsh. It lathers readily, and rinses off without a problem.Healthy hair looks clean and shiny after use.
The label tells us that the product has not been tested on animals. Once opened it should be used within 24 months .A Tesco helpline number Freephone 0800 50 55 55 is given. Refunds can be given if you are not satsfied with the product.
Ingredients seem to be more or less the usual mix :Aqua,Sodium Laureth Sulphate,Sodium Chloride, Parfum,DisodiumEDTA,PEG/PPG-14/4 Dimethicone,Citric Acid,Melaleuca Alternifola,Sodium Hydroxide, Linalool,Limonene,Trithylene Glycol.Benzophenone 4 ,Benzyl Alcohol,PropyleneGlycol,Magnesium Chloride,Magnesium Nitrate,Methylchloroisothiazolinone,Methylsothiazo linone,BHT,Hexylene Glycol CL42051 CL 47005. wOW! The chemists must know what they are about.
I have a friend who used to stack shelves in Tescos and she told me that this shelf always needed a lot of filling, so it must be a very popular product.
I've decided on 5 stars because for the price I think its great, and I'd pay more, but shh, don't tell Tescos.
Summary: Great, refreshing minty shampoo
