Some days I go to a supermarket and think why am I here? The reason for this is I'll be there and realise I don't need anything at all! However I adore shopping and I feel really wrong coming out of a shop with nothing at all though I can't justify buying say a can of hairspray that I don't need for about a fiver! I own loads already and my favourite is Lee Stafford and I have 2 full cans on my dressing table as it is! So What I do is look for bargains or look at the value products to buy and compare my usual picks with cheaper brands and I do this just out of enjoyment! I can't tell you how many toiletries and stuff I own and all I can say is you should see my bedroom there's not alot of room for little ole me and constantly I trip over something or something bashes on my head from balancing precariously where it shouldn't due to a shortage on space! I live a dangerous existence... lol.

I saw this in Tesco priced at 37p a can and I couldn't resist buying it because for a smaller size and the Lee Staford brand I pay about £5.49 which is quite hefty though I do love it and rely on it! I just wondered as I perused the can could this possibly be any good and it has to be worth trying cos it could even be better and save me a lot of money a year! Well you never know and it's worth a trial! lol.

The Packaging....

300ml metal white tin with matching white plastic lid that pulls on/off and sits over a white push button aerosol sprayer securely. On the front I'm told it's Tesco Value Hairspray and a picture of some blond hair that's quite odd lol. On the back I'm again told it's hairspray, directions for use are given, storage instructions and warnings are given, ingredients are listed, size and contact details for Tesco are given and finally there is a bar-code on there. It does look like an economy product but is a large size really giving you value for money (providing it's good of course!). It provides enough information on there and is robust and sturdy but nowhere on the can does it tell me what hold it is so I'm not sure what to expect and there is only one Tesco Value Hairspray on offer (most hairsprays say if it is firm hold or whatever). The other problem is that at a glance it would be quite easy to get this mixed up with any other Tesco Value products you may have in your home! They all look pretty much the same in their distinctive white cans etc! So do be careful and pay attention to what your doing, after all you don't want to accidentally spray oven cleaner on your hair or something! lol.

Directions For Use....

Hold can 10-12 inches from hair and apply evenly using a light spray. Keep away from the eyes. If can fails to operate, remove button and rinse in water. Replace carefully whilst holding can away from the face then use as normal.

My Experience Using It....

Well I styled my hair as usual and this was the last thing I was going to spray on to fix my style in place before I left the house.

Using it was very easy, straightforward and fuss free and as you'd expect any hairspray to be. It sprayed out of the can as a fine, slightly wet residue but it was very evenly sprayed on my hair. Smell wise, well it's ok. It's not my favourite smell in the world and is slightly harsh and old fashioned but once used on the hair it soon loses it's fragrance anyway so it's not a huge issue and it isn't awful or anything don't get me wrong.

The problem it had for my down do hair was that it dragged my style down somewhat and took the life out of it. It wasn't too greasy or overly drying or anything and it didn't feel heavy at all but my hair looked a little on the limp side really and I wasn't happy with that result.

My hair felt quite natural though and wasn't sticky or oily and it felt clean too but I wasn't happy with limp, lifeless hair as I have said. It didn't matter though I was happy to put my hair into a pony tail and this is where this was really great! It really does fix a style without moulding it and making it severe. It tamed my frizzys down by my ears beautifully and helped me create a smooth pony tailed look in seconds and it kept my style that way all day long, even in the wind. My hair behaved itself, felt controlled though not overly so and what's more when I came to combing my hair I felt like I'd completely brushed the product out of my hair with no mess or fuss and my hair still felt clean opposed to grimy or anything.

Overall....

For some reason my hair didn't like to be straightened and left down and then sprayed with this one bit. Also this product doesn't like to be used with too many other styling products and becomes a bit weighty. Also this doesn't add shine at all on any level which again is fine with me cos I do like a shine spray anyway and I am happy to use that. What it did do for me was give control when I worked with it and got used to the product. It tamed my hair brilliantly and worked well for up do's and would I buy it again? Definitely for up do's, yes without a doubt! Not only did it hold my style all day, it did it with a natural feeling hold I liked with no effort at all. Ok so the tin isn't one you'd want to particularly display! So don't! It's as simple as that but economical this really is as you don't need to spend out much to get yourself a can and you don't need loads of it for it to work just cos of the initial price being so cheap either.

Recommended to try at the price it is to see what you think ladies!

Only available in Tesco, priced at about 37p a can.

Summary: A must try!
