~Banana Conditioner~
The Body Shop (TBS) offer a huge range of beauty products which are not tested on animals. TBS use a lot of Fairtrade ingredients in their products.
Last year, TBS re-released their popular banana shampoo and conditioner range. This conditioner is suitable for all hair types and it is recommended that you use this alongside the shampoo. The conditioner is enriched with real banana puree and TBS claim that it will leave hair soft and tangle-free. Fairtrade honey also features in the ingredients list.
~Packaging~
This conditioner is presented in a clear plastic bottle which features a flip top cap. The thick yellow conditioner is visible through the bottle. The bottle features a green label with the essential product information. The bottle is made from recycled plastic and this product has a 12month shelf life.
~Price~
Banana Conditioner is available from www.bodyshop.co.uk and instore. Expect to pay around £4.50 for a 250ml bottle.
~My Thoughts~
I don't often buy Body Shop products as I find them to be overpriced. I bought this conditioner alongside the matching shampoo as I needed to spend a certain amount on the website to obtain a significant discount. I paid around £2.00 per bottle which isn't a bad price for a conditioner.
I chose this particular conditioner as I love the smell of banana. The conditioner isn't a bright yellow but more of a caramel/banana colour. The bottle is easy to squeeze (unlike Lush bottles) making it a breeze to use in the shower. I have long, thick and dry hair which needs thoroughly conditioned to keep it manageable.
This conditioner is perfect for using with the shampoo but I would imagine the scent won't appeal to all. I personally love it and always look forward to using both products together. The conditioner is thick and very rich. It doesn't spread as well as thinner conditioners but a good sized blob or two is sufficient to fully coat my hair in an even layer of conditioner. The conditioner has a gorgeous scent which is very addictive. To me, it resembles foamy banana sweets and is quite a novelty - it does get a bit sickly after a while though.
I find leaving this on for a minute or so is sufficient for daily or every second day use. The conditioner rinses well and doesn't leave my hair feeling heavy or with a residue on the surface. Whilst rinsing the conditioner, I can already appreciate the de-tangling effects of this product. I had run my fingers through my hair without encountering tuggy clumps of hair. Whilst still wet, I can run a comb or brush through my hair with no issues at all.
When I use both products together, my hair is left feeling clean, soft and tangle free. I am able to style my hair with ease or simply pop it up in a hair band if I am being lazy. I am impressed by how shiny my hair is after using both products and find this conditioner helps to keep my coloured hair looking more vibrant. My hair remains soft and hydrated for 2-3days in between washes.
~Conclusion~
I am very pleased with how well this conditioner performs. It won't appeal to all but it works well and to me, smells really nice and beautifully sweet. The banana scent lingers gently on my hair for few hours but I would appreciate a longer lasting scent overall.
