Advantages: Smells nice, cleans hair well, lasts ages

Disadvantages: may be more than you want to spend

This is the shampoo that I decided to take away with me on my month long holiday through Europe, and I must say that it hasn't let me down yet. The Body Shop Bilberry Colour Protect Shampoo is, rather obviously, made by the Body Shop, which is a company that I know and trust, and have used their products for several years so I know that I'm unlikely to be disappointed by them.

This shampoo is no exception. I chose the bilberry shampoo, not because I have coloured hair (as I don't), but because when I had a smell of it in the shop I was enticed by it (not surprisingly. it has a berry scent), and thought I would quite like smelling it when I had a shower every morning. I like taking smelly shampoos on holiday with me, as then everytime I smell them afterwards, I am instantly reminded of where I was when I used it while away (for example, the honey shampoo from the body shop will alway remind me of the scottish island Lewis).

The shampoo comes in a 250ml bottle, so at 5.50 pounds it sounds quite steep, but I've been using it for 4 weeks now, and its still over half full, so it's still good value for money as far as I'm concerned. This shampoo gets my hair very clean for a small amount of it, so it is worth spending the money, as with a lot of cheaper shampoos you have to use a hefty quantity to get it to do the job. However, my hair does feel less soft after using this shampoo than after my normal one (Johnson's baby) but then I could easily rectify that problem, if I were to use a conditioner. The body shop actually do do a bilberry conditioner, so if you want matching hair products, it's easy to do so. Unfortunately, I can't comment on how colour protecting it is, because, as I mentioned earlier, my hair is still it's natural shade.

All in all, I would recommend this shampoo, as it works well, is from a good company, and is good value for money as it lasts so long. However, I would say use it with a light condtioner, as it doesn't exactly leave hair feeling silky.

Summary: A berry scented shampoo from the Body Shop
