The Bodyshop White Headband
by northernlovely
Sometimes, when I'm working from home, having a clean-a-thon or ill, I like to tie my hair up and stick a big wide hairband in it, to keep it all out of the way. And when I was packing my bag for hospital (when I was pregnant), I made sure to include a headband, as having good hair (or even the chance to have good hair) would surely be ... way down the list having just had a baby!
So, I decided on the The Body Shop White Headband which I picked up in store for £2.50. I went for white, as my dressing gown is pale green (hey, who says you can't make at least a little effort to co-ordinate in hospital!?). I also thought that it might be a bit more of a forgiving colour if I was looking a bit pale (the other option was black).
You can also buy the The Body Shop White Headband on their website however it's hardly worth it as a postage and packaging charge applies which is actually more than the item. It might be a good thing to add on to another order however.
The The Body Shop White Headband is a wide, cotton white headband with a stitched seam on the inside and to join it into a hoop. It feels nice, and of a good quality. It sits in the hair comfortably without slipping off, and looks well against tied up hair (either a ponytail or a bun) or to keep back hair that is down and loose. It keeps back the stragglers you can get around your hairline and it leaves your face free and clear to wash it. Should you be using this at home for beauty reasons it's a good way of keeping your hair back for face masks and plucking your eyebrows or so on. Basically, this is a really versatile headband whether for lazy use or pampering.
When I was in hospital the band was great to keep my hair off my sweaty brow and help me feel a bit more neat and tidy (as much as you can do in labour). After I'd had my little bundle of joy I was ordered to have a shower in antibacterial solution (mmm!) which made my hair as shiny and soft as a bale of straw on a hot Summer's day... my Mum dragged a hairbrush through it and we popped the hair band on it and I managed again to feel a bit presentable, despite feeling rather exhausted (there were cameras about after all!)
After I got home, we popped the The Body Shop White Headband in the washing machine at 30 degrees with a white wash and it came out good as new and dried well, too. It's since been used and washed and generally it's as good as the day I bought it 2 years ago, so for £2.50 it's been a brilliant buy (it's also been on holiday abroad twice with me!)
So, overall, I highly recommend The Body Shop White Headband, it's a very versatile and useful and for the price it is a bargain as it's so well made and washable too. It helps me feel human on can't-be-bothered hair days (and when you have a child they're more common than they were before!) Read the complete review |

The Bodyshop White Headband

==PRICE==
This headband is purchased from Body Shop store at around £4.00. The price in my opinion is a little expensive, but this is the price for this type of item at most stores.
==DESIGN==
The headband is made from cotton material and is nice and thick, which is great for holding back my ... long thick hair. The material is also nice and soft to touch, and quite comfortable to wear, as in the past I have used headbands that tended to feel tight and rough on my head, however this one definitely felt soft and comfortable on the head.
==ITS USE AND EXPERIENCE==
This headband is mainly used to keep the hair back and out of the way when applying make up or facial masks. This is personally great for me, as I have long hair that can really annoy me and get in my way when I am trying to spread foundation around my face, without it going on my hair as well.
The headband is fully elasticated, which I found was very useful when fitting the headband onto my head and over my hair, it pulled my hair back with ease and did not cause any discomfort, it was able keep all my strands of hair away from my face which illustrates it good design. The elastic material made it fit perfectly without it feeling too tight or suffocating to the head and when it was taken off it also left my head free from any marks or imprints.
==CLEANING==
I usually wash mine in the washing machine, as it is fully machine washable which is great as all I have to do is pop it in with the rest of my washing cycle. I was happy to find that even after many machine washes it still had the soft feel and the elastic aspect was also still present.
== VERDICT ==
Overall this is great headband that has been designed really well, it does it job effectively but using the elastic aspect to keep the hair fully away from the face and at the same time comfortable to wear. Read the complete review |
