      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A fantastic leave in conditioner.

I am a huge fan of the TIGI Bed Head range of hair products, but being so expensive, there is rarely many which I will go out and purchase. The Ego Boost Split End Mender & Leave in Conditioner however sounded perfect for me. I have long straight hair, which I blow dry and straighten on a daily basis, meaning it does get damaged quite easily. I do end up getting split ends fairly quickly after my hair has been cut, and they can be a nightmare as they are so difficult to manage, and this is why I opted for this specific product.

I brought mine from my local hair salon, and it was retailed at £11.00, however you can pick this up for much cheaper if you shop around, and I would recommend checking out stores online for some good prices.

As you can see, it comes in a unique shaped pink bottle with a green lid. Something I really love about the packaging of the Bed Head products is that they really stand out, so I am happy to display them around my bedroom or bathroom for others to see, and they are just quite quirky which appeals to me.

One of my favourite things about this product is its scent. If you are familiar with this line of products, you will know that they always smell delicious. One problem I have when buying hair products is when they have that salon smell to them, and it really puts me off using them, so this fruity, girly scent was a big thumbs up from me!

To use this, you simply have to push down on the pump an get a small amount on the tips of your fingers. This does tend to shoot out fast, so do beware, because if you use too much you can end up with drastic results! It is recommended that you apply it straight to the bottom of your hair where split ends appear, and where your hair tends to be the most damaged. Apply when your hair is damp, and just before you attack it with straightening irons and curling tongs, as this helps to protect it! You do not need to use water or rinse this out, because it is a leave in conditioner and gets to work on its own.

Bed Head claim that this product will "boost your ego" by mending and protecting dry, damaged hair from environmental elements, chemical treatments and styling. So how well did the product work for me? I did find that this product worked well on my hair, as my ends had more shine to them and didn't look as dry or damaged as usual. This meant that my overall hair did look much healthier, and it felt smoother too. The product did strengthen my hair and I must say I was impressed with the results. The conditioning element did help to last throughout the day, and now I find myself using this product on a daily basis!

Something to watch out for is if you put too much of this product on to your hair. You really do only need a tiny amount, so build up rather than just clumping loads on at one time. If you do end up putting too much on, your hair does become quite hard and stiff and it isn't a fantastic look!

However, as you only need a small amount, this does mean that the product does last quite a long time, which is what you want from a higher end hair product. I have now had mine for a good few months, and I am only about half way down which is fabulous, as I feel that I really am getting good value for money.

Overall, I am very pleased with this leave in conditioner, as it really helped to give my hair that extra shine, and work on my split ends. I would recommend purchasing this, and don't let the price put you off, because I feel that it is worth every penny! Thank you for reading.

        Smells, work and is PERFECT!

If you have read my previous review on the Tigi Foxy Curls Contour cream you know i have Very Long thick, frizzy unruly hair that i more often than i should and really want to straighten to within an inch of its life, becasue my hair is so thick i am prone to split ends which even though i do have cut regulary can still look 'flyaway' as there always seems to If you have read my previous review on the Tigi Foxy Curls Contour cream you know i have Very Long thick, frizzy unruly hair that i more often than i should and really want to be a new split end rearing its ugly head somewhere on my frizzy head! I don't like using products like hairspray and moose on my hair as they usually contain more chemicals and after using them LOTS when i was younger swore to not use hairspray or moose or anything that made my hair 'crispy'.
This product promises to 'add strength and elasticity, seal hair for a healthy look and feel and enhance shine' (as quoted from the Tigi websit). So on the days i am not using the fozy curls and leaving my hair to dry naturally and i amusing this and straightening. I don't use a heat protection anymore as i found this actually does a better job as it seals the hair and SEEMS to protect mine from feeling frazzled. It comes in a lovely pink V shaped bottle with a green pump, i love the Tigi bottle they are so funky and look quite cool in my bathroom along with my many many other products! It pumps at a nice rate and not too much ! I always go for a second pump as my hair is so thick!

        Price and product size -

I paid £8.50 for this on amazon and chose the free super saver delivery It comes in a 200ml bottle and you only need a little bit at a time so should last a long time. You can buy this on many website including amazon, ebay and many many more, again i do a shopping comparison on google.

        Ingredients, smell and texture

        Ingredients are:-
Water (aqua), Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Polyquaternium 10, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, PVP, Amodimethicone, Trideceth 12, Centrimonium Chloride, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Hydrolyzed Keratin, PEG/PPG 20/15 Dimethicone, PEG 8 Methicone, Cyclomethicone, Phenyltrimethicone, Stearylkonium Chloride, Citric Acid, Parfum (Fragrance), Amyl Cinnamal, Hydroxycitronellal, Hydroxyisohexyl, 3 Cyclohexene, Carboxaldehyde, Butylphenyl Methylpropional,

Developed and formulated from the kindest ingredients, TIGI products contain natural mineral essences and plant extracts and are always manufactured using fully biodegradable ingredients drawn from natural resources. (Quoted from the salon-collection website)
The scent is lovely it reminds me of strawberries and grapes and is very sweet you can smell this throughout the day. The texture isn't too thick its quite light and doesn't feel sticky. You may want to wash the residue off your hands i made the mistake of not doing this then applied my face cream noting unpleasant but didnt think it would do my skin any good!

        Application

After shampooing and conditioning my hair as normal I towel dried my hair lightly and then used 1 pump, rubbed it in to my hands and worked through the ends of my hair lightly massaging in, you do only need a small amount as it does go a long way, but at the same time it is not heavy and doesn't not make your hair greasy or weigh it down, I then used a 2nd pump and did the same as my hair is very thick (I would probably recommend only 1 pump for thiner hair) and then when i only had a small amount remaining i very very gently worked a tiny tiny amount in to my roots all around my head, it does say to the bottle to only work in to the ends but i have always done it this way and my ahir has never been greasy or weighed down, i found it just helped to give my hair extra shine and feel softer i would only say do this if you have thick hair that can be prone to dryness like mine! I then blow dried and straightened my hair and the results are perfect my hair feels soft my split ends always feel smoothed and its not fly away like if i just straighten without it. My hair feels healthy and definatley stronger and its great as a helping hand in between trims, which i strongly recommend you still have as its doesn't actually FIX split end its just helps to seal them and prevent further ones accuring! I also use this product on lazy days around the house or if i have washed my hair and i am not going anywhere i use it after washing the same way and just let my hair dry naturally, it even helps slightly reduce my frizz!! My hair is much stronger and much healthier and always smells nice!! Love it!!

        Thanks for reading

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A great product for instantly reducing the appearance of dry hair and split ends.

My hair is neither straight, curly or wavy. It is some horrible combination of them all which means that if I was to leave my hair to dry naturally, I would look something like a cross between Marge Simpson and a Yeti. Hence each morning, I subject my hair to a vigorous routine of blow drying and straightening my hair to within an inch of its life. This in turn leaves my hair very dry, especially on the end. I didn't want to constantly be having my hair cut in an attempt to get rid of them and they kept catching up with me.

And this is why I bought Ego Boost, a part of the Bedhead collection by Tigi. (I also bought it because it matches the colour scheme of my bathroom perfectly but it was mainly because of my hair!!) Ego Boost boasts of being a split end mender and performs this job in the form of a leave in conditioner.

Ego boost promised to mend all the damage that I had been causing to my hair by styling, using chemical treatments on it and general damage from the environment. Not only that but it also promised to protect my hair from any further damage that I may cause. It does so by adding strength and elasticity to my poor damaged hair and then sealing it to give it a healthy appearance that shines and feels silky smooth. It sounded like my fairy godmother had come to my hair's rescue!

To stop your hair becoming, you need to add moisture. Hair needs to be moisturised just like your skin and a leave in conditioner is the perfect way to do this as it allows the moisture to remain in the hair and be completely absorbed without being washed away. The product only needs to be used on the ends so I still use my normal conditioner as well. You are directed to apply the product sparingly and massage it into the ends of damp hair. This can be a challenge if you have heavily layered hair as you'll need to hunt for all the ends.

The product comes in a striking hot pink bottle shaped like an upside funnel. It's lid is bright lime green and the formula is released by using a pumping action. It costs around £10 for 200ml of the product and can be bought from hair salons and also online.

As you only apply the product to the ends of your hair, the bottle will last for months so it evens out the price a little bit. You must not rinse out the product, hence the name of leave in conditioner. You must be careful not to overuse the product as when your hair dries, your ends may become stiff. You only need a small amount in order for this to work.

The advantages of this product is that it is made using a light formula and it doesn't weigh your hair down which is something I was concerned about as I spend a lot of time and products trying to stop my hair going flat. I don't know if this product so much mends the split ends as stops them from showing and getting worse but it does make your hair look noticeably healthier and there appears to be less damage. Because the product smoothes your hair, it also makes it shinier and smoother. As with most of the Bedhead collection, it smells deliciously sweet and the aroma lingers long after application.

All in all, this is a handy product that does calm the appearance of split ends and makes your hair appear more healthy. It is no substitute for a trim every six weeks but it will tide you over in the meantime so you won't need to look like a frizzy monster in between hair cuts anymore.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A great product to boost your ego!

If you have read other Bedhead reviews, you may have noticed that I have had something to say about most products. I absolutely love TIGI, and Bedhead in particular and I feel really strongly about promoting a positive message so people look past the often quite expensive price tag.

This product isn't excessively overpriced, you can purchase it for around £10 from most hair salons and online for possibly slightly cheaper - it is worth shopping around.

You wont miss the bottle on a shelf! Its bright pink with a green dispenser in a shape that is somewhat similar to a cone. As far as its function is concerned, the main purpose is to mend split it and improve the overall condition of damaged or coloured hair. It is also noted as a leave in conditioner which is pretty much explains itself.

The constituency of the product is runny and quite oily, so you would be suprised at what such a light product could do! For me, a regular GHD user, it has improved by split ends immensely and I only ever use a tiny bit (1 squirt) on wet hair. I use it as part of my every day routine before I blow dry my hair. It really nourishes your hair and would be ideal if you were going abroad somewhere hot to keep your hair nice and hydrated. I believe it can be used on dry hair also to smooth fly aways and give a general silky soft appearance.

I think it might be easy to apply too much as at first it is difficult to know if it is working or not. This may result in a greasy appearance which should be avoided!

I would give this product 5 stars and recommend it to anyone who regularly uses heated products like straighteners or curlers and anyone who has colour damaged hair!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A great easy to use leave in conditioner

As you would have seen from my other reviews I am a huge Bed Head fan I bought this as a change from normal conditioner and after reading several great reviews. It comes in a bright pink container which has a bright green pump dispenser. The bottle contains 200ml of product, I paid £10 for mine on ebay.

The product promises to smooth and condition dry, damaged hair, seal cuticals, add elasticity and give hair a heathy appearance. I used this after the dumb blonde shampoo, you only need a very small amount of this product I only used one pump. I have shoulder length hair, I always tend to use these products sparingly and add more later if necessary as my hair can become greasy if overloaded. The product has a lovely fruity smell, it reminds me of fruit salad. It has a very light consistency.

After using this I was amazed at the difference especially at the ends of my hair, I am partial to split ends as I have a tendency to overstyle my hair. This product glues the ends together and is great as a quick fix in between haircuts. My hair felt silky and it was very managable. I was very impressed with the results from this conditioner and I now use it regularly when I am in a rush and don't have the time to spend in the bath/shower.

I would recommend this for all hair types, it is lightweight and easy to use.

          Disadvantages

A Great product for treating your hair

This is another gorgeous looking product from the Tigi Bed Head range and it's also another product that i love. First of all it's pink so it looks great in my bathroom cabinet (I love glamorous looking products), it also suits its purpose really well.

It is a Leave-In Conditioner that is designed to protect dry and damged hair caused by heat styling and other environmental factors, it is also designed to mend split ends. My hair actually normally leans more towards the greasy type, but always drys out a lot more in the summer time especially if i've been to a hot country. So i usually don't mind spending a little bit more on a product that will nurse my hair back to tip top condition. So i spent a little bit more than i usually would on this Tigi product as it is a brand i love.

To use this product i just had to smooth a little into my hair, focusing on the ends, when it was still damp (i'd say 60% dry) and then leave it and finish styling the rest of my hair. Thankfully, this didn't make my hair feel gungy or sticky at all which is something i can't stand in a hair product. It did however add a gorgeous sheen to my hair, it looked very shiny and felt tremendously soft. To be honest i didn't even have to use this product for very long before my hair felt much improved and back to its old self, so it's obviously a product that works quickly. So the bottle lasted me a long time, in fact i think i used it over 2 Summers so at least i got my moneys worth.

I paid about £12 for a 200ml bottle in Boots but i've seen it a tiny bit cheaper online on websites like www.feelunique.com

It's definetely worth the extra spend if your hair is in need of a bit of TLC.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Great conditioner but not a miracle cure for split ends

I shampoo and condition my hair regularly, together with the occassional treat of a deep conditioner or hair mask, but I also use my straighteners alot - so my hair is prone to dryness, breakages and split ends. Short of a monthly trip to the hairdressers (and who can afford to go that regularly?!) I was unsure what more I could do to combat the drying effect of the heat on my hair. When I read about the TIGI ego boost - a leave in conditioner and split end mender, I was dubious that it would really work. Seriously, a split end mender....is that even possible? And a leave in conditioner - surely this would leave your hair sticky? Despite my doubts of the physical possibilities of this, I've tried several other products from the TIGI range and been pleased with the results so I purchased myself a bottle at around £10 for 200ml (prices vary online).

          **The Product**
As stated above, a leave-in conditioner and split end mender. This comes in an attractive bright pink bottle with pea green pump top for application - it certainly looks young and fresh in your bathroom. The conditioner is clear and more liquid in form than your usual conditioner. It has a pleasant fruity/berry scent that smells great when you apply but doesn't seem to last on your hair.

          **Application**
The bottle states that you can apply this to wet or dry hair, although I have only ever applied to wet hair. You apply a decent amount (I have long, thick hair so usually use two applications about the size of a 10p piece) largely to the mid-lengths and ends.

          **Effects**
My hair certainly feels smoother when I have applied this, and my fears of it leaving my hair sticky proved unfounded. Instead, my hair was soft to the touch and you could not tell any product had been applied in that sense. It seemed to seal my hair and leave it silky and definitely looking in better condition (especially after regular use). I don't really think that it has any impact on split ends that I already had - to say it mends them would be wide of the mark in my experience, although I would say that it helped to prevent my hair developing any more. As a conditioner, I would definitely recommend this product but if you are looking for the miracle cure for split ends, this would not be it. I guess the only real cure for those is that trip to the hairdressers!

The magic conditioner, repairs split ends

I have been using tigi products for around ten years now and have great faith in the products.
Tigi bed head products are mainly sold in most good hair salons and online.

On my last visit to the hairdressers they recommended the tigi bed head ego boost conditioner too me because my hair is ruined with dry split ends due to me constantly having my hair coloured. Whilst i did use conditioner every time i shampooed my hair it was helping the condition of my hair.

A bottle of tigi ego boost conditioner cost £12.00 for a 200 ml bottle. The bottle is very young and trendy in looks, its a cone shaped bottle in bright pink with a green pump action lid. I like the silver writing on the bottle , really stands out. Their are no instructions on the bottle telling me how to use the conditioner, i was quite surprised by this.

Tigi ego boost is not like normal conditioners, yes it moisturise the hair but it also fixes split ends.
To use ego boost it can be put on wet or dry hair, my best results for me is when my hair is dry. A small 10p size amount is all that is needed, it can be put on the ends of the hair or used all over. With my hair because it is badly damaged i use it all over. Ego boost is most suited for people who have damaged hair , coloured hair, natural fly away dry hair, split ends.
To me ego boost conditioner is very different in the way it works because it seriously does mend the split ends and my hair already feels and looks so much better in the two months i have been using it. It call ego boost the magic conditioner because it really has mended my split ends.

The ego boost conditioner is a cloudy clear coloured liquid and is quite running. It has a lovely long lasting fruity smell and feels nice and smooth on my finger tip's. Once i have applied ego boost to my hair it looks nice, shiny, smooth and feels soft but manageable. I felt a difference after using ego boost for around a week.

I love this conditioner and is unusual compared to any other products i have ever tried. I will continue to buy the ego boost and as i have said already my hair was in terrible condition yet i now have less split ends, less tangles, more manageable hair.

          Highly recommended.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A great leave in hair conditioning treatment for dry, split ends.

The last time I was getting my hair cut at the salon, I mentioned to the hairdresser that I sometimes suffer from very dry tips of hair as well as some split ends. My hair is generally in very good condition, but toward the ends it does dry out significantly and doesn't feel as nice to the touch as the rest of my hair, nor does it look as nice. One of the products she recommended was Tigi Bed Head Ego Boost Split End Mender and Leave In Conditioner (now there's a mouthful). I've used Tigi products before, mainly the Bed Head Shine Spray which is great, so I was up for trying this product but I didn't want to pay the £15 that the salon was charging for this product, so I waited until I got home and bought some online instead! I purchased a 200ml bottle of this product from an Amazon private seller for £8 altogether and I was happier with that price.

The bottle itself, like the majority of items in the Bed Head range comes in bright neon pink packaging, with this item being conical in shape, and topped off with a neon green pump-action lid which dispenses the conditioner. The packaging is very bold, modern and eye-catching and as with all Tigi items it looks well designed and professional.

Basically, the notion behind Bed Head Ego Boost is that it smooths your hair and split ends down, protecting them as well as conditioning the ends of your hair thanks to it being a leave in conditioner.

I found Ego Boost to be very easy to use, particularly because it can be used on wet and dry hair, meaning that I didn't always have to go to the hassle of washing my hair everytime I wanted to use this product. To use it, you just apply the creamy conditioner to the ends and lower parts of your hair and massage it in for a few minutes. As this is a leave in conditioner, there's no need to rinse as the conditioner stays in your hair to continue it's good work. Then you just let your hair dry as you normally would. This conditioning split end product smells lovely, with an enjoyable fresh and fruity aroma that's really nice. The scent lasts on my hair for a good hour or so, so that's a bonus.

After my first use of this product, I first noticed that the ends of my hair felt very soft and hydrated compared to normal and the product had really improved the condition of my dry hair. I also noticed that, although I still had some split ends, they were not as many as before using the product and they were not as noticable. I continued to use this product one or two times a week and each time the condition of my hair ends improved. After a month of use I had no split ends at all. I now use this product once or twice every few weeks, depending on how my hair feels, and I think that it helps to keep it happy, looking shiny, feeling soft and less prone to damage and split ends. I've also found that you don't need much of this product to get a good result, so it's pretty good value too.

Overall, I'm very pleased with this product. It's got rid of the split ends I did have, and also continues to protect and condition the ends of my hair, which now look much better. Well recommended.

One Little Spot Does The Trick!

Having seen a lot of positive reviews of Tigi products in magazines I was eager to try some of their products. However, I just could not justify paying the rather expensive prices for their products in stores without seeing some sort of proof for myself that their products are actually worth their somewhat expensive price tags.

It was when I visited my local salon last year that I had the opportunity to use a Tigi product, this being the Ego Boost Split End Mender Conditioner. My hairdresser simply massaged a little amount of the conditioner into the ends of my hair and I was really impressed by how smooth it had left my hair, which is often tuggy and rather course.

So happy with my experience at the salon, I decided to shop around for this conditioner and managed to track down Ego Boost for £6 brand new on ebay for a full size bottle. At that price who was I to say no. Although, I am sure that this product retails for about £10-15 on the high street.

I have long red hair which is often static prone, so I just use a small 10p sized amount of this conditioner in my hair. The conditioner is dispensed from the bottle by way of a pump which can be turned to the left and right to either prevent or allow excretion.

Personally, I prefer to massage the conditioner into the ends of my hair and also run it through the lengths whilst my hair is damp. I then leave it to work its magic for about an hour before blow-drying my hair fully.

Ego boost can also be applied to dry hair as it is a leave in conditioner. I often use it in this way on days that I feel that my hair is rather fly-away!

This product never lets me down and leaves my hair soft, shiny and smelling lovely.

          ** Overall **

Since purchasing this product I have been really ecstatic with the way in which it has nourished and conditioned my hair. Before I had ego boost in my life my hair lacked va va voom. One little blob of this product and my drab hair is transformed into gloriously shiny, soft and polished mane.

I would definitely recommend this product to those who have hair that lacks glossiness or is course/tuggy. I'm sure that you will be happy with what you see in the mirror after just one application and I think that it is well worth its price.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

Look out for deals when buying

I was first attracted to the Tigi range by a friend who has really long natural hair who uses the range.

I was particularly attracted to the product as Tigi I believe is a name to trust, and I was after a leave in conditioner after using up the last ofmy other stuff which is good but really wanted to try something different.

So when I punched this into the search engines it came up at many different prices, the deal that attracted me was where you got Bed Hed shampoo for free with it so thought great can try both products at once.

            Packaging=
very funky neon pink and green, with it's mission statement on the front and usage instructions and a full list of ingredients and where it is distributed from. Easy to use pump action which can be locked so it doesn't pump when pressed, useful if you are taking it away on holiday or have it in an overnight bag, no more spills or leaks!

            Product=
This is more of a creme actually rather than a spray type product I was expecting, therefore it is slightly tacky to the touch on the hands. The colour is a pearl like colour.
The smell is juicy and sweet but by no means overpowering and I'm sure it will be found as being pleasant to most people who use the product.
Now then, I have tried the product on both wet and dry hair. Hated using it on dry, felt horrible and sort of dried to a crisp on my hair making it feel a bit stiff however this is no problem as long as you brush through after application. Had wash hands after as it kind of just rested on them and would have left them tacky, it does not sink into the skin like some products.
On wet hair it is much better to apply, I would only recommend using on the bottom ends and lengths as this is where the hair will benefit most from using the product. I rub it in then stick my hair up in a towel and let it do it's stuff.
I mostly let the hair dry naturally after using and blast the roots a bit right at then end as my hair goes lank if not blow dried as I don't really tend to use many products and it is very fine.

            Product claims=
Split end mender? What does it do, glue the hairs back together? Well in a fashion. Split ends cannot be mended and should be cut off as soon as possible. So this claim can't surely be true. This is a mask which I think seals the shaft of the hair and therefore reduces the appearance of split ends, this is a more accurate description. I feel it does sink into the hair, my hair is drying at the moment and all traces of product have now disappeared and strengthens it, it makes the ends more polished without having the appearance of using any product. It claims to mend and protect dry, damaged hair from environmental elements, chemical treatments and styling and therefore sounds like good as heat protection product also.

            Where to buy=
May be available in local salons, but not in mine so chose to go the eBay route. Many offers with this item as mentioned before I got a free 200ml shampoo with mine and it was about £9 so it's not a bad price.

            Summary=
Worth a try, using a couple of times a week and will continue to use until I run out then may try something else as I prefer spray on rather than creamy products. Finishes, seas and provides strength to the hair well and comes recommended. Use when hair is wet for more preferable results.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

Consider this if you have long or very fine hair

I went hunting for a leave-in conditioner after moving to the UK from Australia, and after much searching (apparently leave-in conditioners aren't as popular here as they are in Aus!) I found this one.

The bottle looks funky, and has a pump dispenser top - always a plus with me, I like pump tops. The pump dispenses a reasonable sized portion of conditioner, too - not too much. The product itself has a fairly thin consistency, and I found the best way to apply was to rub my palms together then run my hands through the last half of the length of my hair to distribute a thin layer just at the ends of the hair. Like all the leave-in conditioners I've tried, applying it all the way from the roots tends to leave hair greasy and yuck. Less is more with leave-ins.

It did help to prevent split ends & keep hair from getting tangly at the ends, and a little bit smoothed over the top of my hair also helped prevent that wind-blown flyaway look. I wouldn't say it's going to repair split ends - once the hair is split, it's split - but it will make it look smoother & sleeker.

As I've now cut my hair - from waist length to super-short - I now prefer to use an ordinary rinse-out conditioner alone. And with my current shampoo & conditioner (see my reviews for what I think of Burts Bees Super Shiny), I rarely use it as a smoother. But I did think it was a good product, particularly for use on long hair.

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

Overall a good split end mender and nice and soft and sleek

Tigi Bed Head Ego Boost Split End Mender & Leave in Conditioner

I get my hair highlighted every 6-8 weeks by my friend who is a hairdresser for free so I save my self a small fortune. She also stocks Tigi products and I have bought a few especially the shine heat protector to use with Straightners. She has also occasionally given me products to try or for presents. The Tigi Bed Head Ego Boost split ends mender and leave in conditioners was one that she gave me to try for free. It is good to have friends in useful jobs as can save you a fortune.

                **What is it/spin**

Tigi do many different types of hair products that are recommended by many hair stylists and magazines. They tend to be sold in professional hair salons only and they are aimed at the female consumers who like to use hair Straightners and heated equipment and get the hair coloured frequently which can damage their hair. They do lots of products for styling and like I said repairing.

Tigi Ego Boost Split End Mender is a leave in conditioner aimed to help repair split ends which can be caused by overusing heated products or colouring hair too frequently which can dry them out. It is meant to seal the hair and help smooth and protect the hair.

                **The packaging**

I have a 200ml bottle and it is a lovely fluorescent pink in colour and has a bright green top which you press down to squirt the liquid from rather like a liquid soap top. The bottle is rounded at the bottom then narrows into a triangular shape. With it being a push down squirty top that you twist I don't feel this is too good to put in a bag as you are more at risk of it squirting all over the inside of your bag.

                **Using it**
It is advertised as a split end mender and leave in conditioner and can be used on wet or dry hair. It is probably best used after just washing it really. When washing my hair I do use shampoos and conditioners for coloured hair with me highlighting regularly. My hair is very long and thick and seems to grow fast. It can be quite difficult to comb through when wet cause of its thickness and the colour treatments I use. Therefore this is a good product for me to try to help make it smoother to comb through and protect the ends of my hair.

When you squirt out the liquid it is clear and quite runny but has a nice smell to it. I have only tried this on wet hair as I find it a bit too runny and gel like to try on dry hair. I find with this a little goes a long way and I spread it through the ends of my hair first. I also smooth through a little through the rest of the hair as it then makes my hair easier to comb through. This is due to it being long and colour treated it seems to be a bit dry and prone to tats when washed.

It does feel smooth once on and the liquid feeling easily goes form the fingers once applied. It then combs through easy before I then leave it to dry naturally or blow dry. The only downside with this is I feel it over moistures my hair if I am not careful with the amount that I apply as then when I blow dry and straighten my hair feels a little overly polished. I guess it is because I don't like to use too many products on my hair and prefer it to be more soft and natural.

                **Recommend**

Well I did not pay for this as my friend gave it to me and I have the 200ml version which will set you back about £9.00 or so from your local salon or sometimes sold online also. Therefore I think it is a tad expensive.

However I think it isn't a product you would use after every wash but maybe once or twice a week and as you don't need that much in applying it then it will last you a couple of months so is then worthy of the price.

If you use a lot of heated equipment on your hair or colours then this is a good repairer as it does work well on the split ends and makes it smoother and softer and give a good polished sleek effect. Although I am not overly keen on the feeling get when you touch the hair as it can feel a little too polished and moistured but that is something I need to work better on blending it in and reducing the amount I squirt through.

I would rate it between 3-4 stars because of this but that is just me being funny on textures and price.

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

Helps you get hairdresser-soft hair at home

Okay, I have to admit, the main reason I bought this was because they used it on me in the hairdresser and it smelled so nice!

I am not convinced about the marketing. I've heard from quite a few reliable sources that it's impossible to "mend" split ends - they're split, after all - what are you going to do, glue them back together? However you can reduce the appearance of split ends by, well, gluing them together (sort of), and that's what this claims to do.

I don't have many split ends, so I can't say what it does for that, but I have quite naturally dry hair and I really need a leave-in conditioner. This is one of the best I've found. It nourishes your hair and leaves it feeling really soft. I'm always jealous of the way my hair feels after the hairdresser's and want to recreate it myself. I still haven't managed to get it quite so soft but this gets me a lot closer!

At first I wasn't sure whether to use it instead of or as well as normal (wash-out) conditioner, but I asked my hairdresser and he recommended I used it as well because my hair is so dry. And it really does give an extra conditioning boost.

A couple of disadvantages about it are that it doesn't really tell you how much to use, and that it's also quite hard to store because of its shape - it won't fit in a drawer. Also, you used to have to buy it at the hairdresser, although I think you can get it online now. You can get it for about £8 from Amazon but I think it's more in store.

                    Advantages

                    Disadvantages

                    A split end mender.

My hair is my pride and joy, blonde luscious locks which take a lot of looking after to keep them in perfect condition. I have my hair highlighted infrequently to give it a lighter look and I use my Everyday I use my GHD hair straighteners with a straightening balm or lotion to ensure it is poker straight and all of the styling and creams I use takes it toll on my hair, often leaving it dry with a straw like feel and I hate the thought of split ends, as soon as I spot one I am usually rushing off to my hair salon to have my hair trimmed, the only problem being is that I like my hair the length it currently is and I hate having to have it cut.

Then I came across Tigi Bed Head Ego Boost which can be used on both wet and dry hair and has been designed to help combat split ends. Sold in a bright fluorescent pink bottle with a bright fluorescent green pump action top, this product stands out by a country mile upon any shelf in which you see it placed. The bottle I purchased contained 200ml and I paid £6.95 for it but I have seen it priced up to as much as £15 on-line. The selling point of this product is within the name for me "Ego Boost, Split End Mender" which is exactly what I need, an ego boost and my split ends mending. So I didn't hesitate when buying it.

I am a fan of pre-wash treatments for the hair and leave in conditioners because I believe they add a little extra something to your hair. A previous review of mine was about a pre-wash treatment which used avocado oil to help nourish, re-moisturise and condition my hair but it wasn't designed to help deal with split ends specifically, although it did improve the situation. I bought Ego Boost in the hope it would solve my problems once and for all. The idea behind Ego Boost is that once you have used it it should seal, smooth and protect your hair, therefore getting rid of split ends by fixing them.

To use this treatment it really could not have been easier. After washing your hair in your usual manner, which in my case involves using a good shampoo which will properly clean my hair from root to tip and clean my scalp at the same time. Then after removing any excess water from my hair by squeezing it out, apply the product to your hair liberally to ensure that you have covered the ends of your hair only and massage it into the ends for good few minutes. Then whatever you do, do not wash this product off your hair, it is a leave in conditioning treatment which will carry on working on your hair as it dries. After using any product of this nature, I prefer to let my hair dry naturally without the aid of a hair-dryer.

Once my hair had dried, I did comb my hair through to look for some split ends and was suitably impressed to find that there was less than there had been to start with, so although I was expecting this to be a miracle cure and work from the first application, I was more than impressed to see the results and having now used it once a week for the last 8 weeks, my split ends have actually all gone. Now I admit my hair wasn't away with split ends, I would never let that happen, but I knew that there was evidence of some and it made me feel very self confident incase anyone else spotted them. So now I am more than happy to wear my hair straight without having to hide it in a plait under a hat out of sight from anyone who might want to look.

The smell of this conditioning treatment is by far one of the nicest smelling treatments I have ever smelt, it instantly reminded me of that fresh out of the hairdressers smell which is really clean and fruity smelling and although this isnt an overpowering smell it does last and linger for a good few hours and a colleague of mine asked me which shampoo I had been using because she was really taken in by the smell. However, not being one to admit a slight fault in my appearance I told a white lie and named the shampoo I use instead of the treatment. There is a full list of ingredients on the back of the bottle, although none of them I could understand.

I am really impressed with this product, it does everything I was hoping it did and left my hair feeling soft, moisturised, incredibly soft and it has solved the problems with my split ends, so it is something I do recommend as a treatment but it is not a quick fix and will take more than one application before you may notice any difference.
