When it was my birthday i asked for some foxy curls curling cream but my mom actually purchased the wrong one for me but i didnt have the heart to tell her so i thought well i might aswel use it and not let it go to waste. It comes in a large dark purple bottle with a small plastic top to protect the dispensing spray top, i like using the foxy curls range as i have wavy frizzy hair so when i used this i found it to be no different and it works really well.
You can use it on towel dried or dry hair and you literally spray through hair evenly and leave and this spray will define curls but i find it works better if you spray the product on to your hands and scrunch it through hair and leave as i have found before when you use to much of this stuff it makes your hair go rock hard in places and then it just leaves your hair looking nasty.
The product does say to use with other foxy curls products for it to work best but i found it works either way so you dont have to purchase the whole range!! The foxy curl range can be a little pricey so i would try different shops before purchasing so you can get a good price on it but i can honestly say this product does define my curls.
I bought this Tigi product to help protect my hair when I curl it and also to help define those curls. In the past I have just used hairspray, but I have very thick hair so often have to use lots of it to get the desired effect. I picked this bottle up for £5 from my local chemist, it is 150ml and so far seems to be lasting a long time. The bottle is really easy to hold and when you spray it you get a fine mist that is easily distributed through your hair. The product has a nice floral fragrance that I really like, as it makes a nice alternative to the chemical hairspray scent you often get.
You can use this on wet or dry hair, depending on how much hold you want. I use it on dry hair before curling and then spray a light mist on again after curling. My hair seems to hold curls quite well, so I don't need to use anything like hairspray or mousse as well as this product. I also like to have natural (ish) looking curls, so I try not to use too much of this, as the first time I used it I ended up with rock hard hair that didn't feel very nice at all.
All in all I would say this is a nice product to use and it isn't too expensive that results in nice glossy curls without creating a sticky hard style.
When going on a night out I like to curl my hair and have a set of ceramic rollers. These beat doing it with my GHD's hands down and since using them the health of my hair has greatly improved. Applying heat to the hair does take its toll out on it and the hair can look damaged and dull.
I bought the Bed Head's Foxy Curls Hi-Def curl spray because it is specifically designed for when you want to wear your hair curly.
*Price and availability*
I paid £6.99 for the Bed Head's Foxy Curls Hi-Def curl spray and I bought it from my salon where the hair dresser recommended it.
The spray bottle has a lid with a press down button that releases a fine mist. The bottle is purple and easy to hold. There is 150ml of this product in the bottle and so far it seems to last forever.
The spray has a delicate fruity scent to it that I find really appealing.
*Using the product*
The bottle directs the user to spray a fine mist over the sections of wet hair you want to curl. I normally spray a mist over sections of hair as I blow dry it. I then get to use my rollers on clean, dry smooth hair and after I have curled my hair, I simply spray a fine mist from over the curls for a finishing touch.
The product smells delicious and I really like using it. By using the spray on wet hair and blow drying, you can see how the spray calms the hair and makes it easy for you to work with. The spray contains an anti-static agent that fights frizz leaving you with sleek hair. Once the curlers have removed, I spray a fine mist over the finished style. It does not hold it like a hairspray and seems to be rather invisible. It gives it subtle hold and shine. Whether used on its own finished hair or used on wet hair alone, the product gives the hair a really nice healthy sheen. It seems to protect it from the heat and stops my hair going frizzy.
I guess the product does contribute to some extent to the duration the curls will last, however I am not able to use this product without hairspray as my curls will not stay in without it.
The main reason I bought the spray was not to act as a hair spray, but to simply protect my hair and keep it looking healthy and shiny. In this respect, I find the curl spray really successful. It definitely stops my hair looking frizzy and smoothes it making my curly 'do' look like it is full of body.
I'm pleased with the success of this curl spray and I would recommend it. My hair is dry and dull and needs all the help it can get when trying to achieve a healthy, voluptuous style.
Having curly hair can sometimes be a real problem, not knowing what products are best to use and that actually work. I have tried no end of products over the years and only recently on my sister's recommendation have I decided to spend a bit more and use Tigi products.
Another Tigi product I own and have used for a little while now is Tigi Bed Head Foxy Curls Hi-Def spray. I paid around £7.00 for the 200ml bottle, however I am sure that you could buy this a little cheaper from online hair and beauty stores.
~ Who is it for? ~
This spray is for those with curly hair - natural or permed. It is designed to separate and define your curls, controlling frizz at the same time. Too good to be true I hear you ask?
~ What is it like? ~
The bottle is a lovely rich purple colour with a spray action pump where the liquid is dispersed from. The pump is protected by a clear plastic lid to prevent anything from clogging and minimising the spraying effect.
One of the main reasons I decided to try this spray is the fact that it can be used on both wet and dry hair to style.
After having washed my hair using Tigi curl shampoo and conditioner, I gently towel dry my hair and then spray this curl spray all over my hair. I then use a hairdryer with a diffuser to maximise the curls. I found that this product was really easy to use and the spray was really quite good, generously covering my hair. I found I only really needed about 5 sprays to cover my hair. When drying my hair, I could really notice my curls drying in nicely formed curls, with each curl being separated from the others. When I'd finished drying my hair, I was really impressed with how my curls looked. They were definitely frizz free and looked like I had just had my hair professionally done at the hairdressers! My curls also felt really nice and soft, despite being held in shape. Sometimes with curl sprays I have used in the past my hair has felt quite hard in places, as if I had used a traditional hairspray, however this Tigi curl spray was completely different. My hair looked great, but to touch you wouldn't know I had used any products at all as it felt really natural and soft.
I noticed over a few weeks of using this curl spray that my curls maintained their softness and felt quite nourished and in really good condition.
I have also used this curl spray on my hair when it is dry to give it a boost between washes. I have found to get the most from the spray when your hair is dry, it is best to tip your head upside down and spray over your hair whilst still upside down. I have then scrunched my hair using my hands and hey presto! Personally I found that the spray worked better on wet hair, however it performed a lot better than other sprays I have used before, when used on dry hair. My curls looked revived and kept their shape when using it as a boost when my hair was dry.
Overall I would definitely recommend investing in this curl spray. I know it is more expensive than most other curl products, but I have witnessed the results and it really is fantastic!
I have naturally wavy hair, which is very thick. I find the quickest and easiest thing to do with it is straighten it, however there is the odd occasion when I like to wear it curled. The main problem for me when curling my hair, is simply that the thickness of my hair causes the curls to drop out after about an hour, which leaves me back at square one!
I tried many high street brands on my quest to find something that would hold my curls. I tried regular hairsprays as well as products specifically designed for curly hair, but nothing really worked. I also found that most of the products aimed at styling curls, were for people who have naturally curly hair and not those of us who create our curls with tongs or other appliances. I stumbled across Bed Head's Foxy Curls Hi-Def curl spray online, and thought it sounded like it might be worth a try.
This spray is designed to be sprayed into wet hair to separate curls (for those of us with natural curls) but also says that it can be sprayed into dry hair to 'touch up' curls, which is why I bought it.
Packaged in a tall purple bottle with silvery grey writing, the product certainly looks stylish and modern. I keep this on my dressing table as I think its quite nice to look at and when the light catches the bottle it looks a really pretty colour.
So, to use this, I curl my hair, either with a heated tong or by twirling my hair round with my GHD's. Once I've created each curl, I simply spray this over the top to help set it. The spray is none aerosol so can sometimes come out a little bit too heavily, so I'd suggest holding the bottle at a slight distance from your hair. I sometimes find that it 'sits' on my hair a little so I gently pat it in using my fingers.
I think one of the first things you will notice about the product - and probably my favourite thing about it - is the smell. It smells absolutely amazing. It's a very sweet and sugary smell, a bit like sherbet or perhaps even Love Heart sweets. I don't normally like my styling products to smell strong, as I'd rather smell my perfume than my hair, but this is the exception, which is just as well as the scent really does linger!
The effect this has on my hair is brilliant . My curls look smooth and any frizziness that may have been there is gone and my curls look defined. Most importantly for me however, is that my curls stay in! I must admit, as curling is so time consuming I normally only do it for nights out, and when you're out enjoying yourself the last thing you want to worry about is your hair. With this product, I know I'm not going to have to run to the toilets to re-spray my hair every five minutes, as I usually find it will keep my curls in until the next morning.
Unfortunately, I have to be honest and tell you that this product isn't all great. Firstly, whilst I don't think it's making my hair look dull it doesn't add shine either, so I usually have to give my hair a blast of shine spray on top of this - usually TIGI's Head Rush. The main downside though, is that it does make my hair feel quite hard, and crispy! It's not really a nice feeling, and I cringe if anyone touches my hair.
Due to the feeling it gives my hair, I do prefer to wash this out, as whilst you can brush it out, it tends to leave quite a bit of residue in the hair, and I don't feel my hair is properly clean until I've washed it.
The spray comes in a 200ml bottle, and despite the fact I've used this quite often, there's less than a quarter of it actually been used so far, so it does last. I bought mine from www.beautybay.co.uk where it costs just £5.99 a bottle. As TIGI is a salon brand you will only really find them in salons or online, but check places such as TK Maxx and TJ Hughes as they often get TIGI products in stock.
Overall, I am quite pleased with this and will definitely buy another bottle when it runs out. I would prefer it if it didn't make my hair feel hard and crispy, but the fact it actually keeps my curls in is the main selling point for me, as it has achieved what every other brand I've tried has failed to do!
