TIGI is a brand that I haven't used before and not something I would have ever spent my own money on. But, when a friend gave me a bottle, of TIGI Bed Head Moisture Maniac Conditioner I wasn't going to say no to it. You see, my friend has very short hair and no longer needs to use conditioner so thought giving it to me would be a better option.
TIGI Bed Head Moisture Maniac Conditioner is available in either a 250ml bottle or a 750ml bottle (I'm not sure if you can get any other sizes, but that's what I found online). The size I have is 250ml and it would roughly cost about £10 in a shop. This is way more than I have ever spent on a conditioner.
The 250ml bottle has a pull up nozzle at the top which is how you get the conditioner out. After looking at pictures of the bigger bottle, it seems as though that one has a pump dispenser instead. I have no idea why the different sized bottles would have different lids but oh well. The bottle itself is bright orange and certainly stands out against other products in my bathroom. The text and TIGI brand logo are quite big on the front of the bottle and again, that it something that really stands out.
The conditioner itself is a really nice light peach colour which goes well with the orange of the bottle. The scent however isn't very strong but there is a subtle hint of fruit in there somewhere. I would have really liked for this conditioner to have a stronger smell as I like my hair to smell nice after a shower.
My hair is in pretty bad condition so I need something that will work its way through a tangled mess when my hair is wet. The TIGI Bed Head Moisture Maniac Conditioner is very thick in consistency and before rinsing it out of my hair, I had a really good feeling about how my hair would feel afterwards. You also don't need to use a lot of this conditioner, even on long hair, as added water will stretch it out and cover a lot.
Although the conditioner is quite thick, it doesn't weigh down my hair at all. After rinsing it out, my hair felt really soft and that was without even brushing it through. Compared with other conditioners I use, this one is the best by far for detangling my hair whilst in the shower. I don't have to fight with any knots and it doesn't sound as though I'm ripping my hair out while I'm brushing it. Not only does my hair feel less knotty, it also feels in a much better condition after blow drying. My hair doesn't feel half as dry and destroyed after using this conditioner and because of that, I fell in love with it.
I only really have two problems with this product. The first is the price and the second is the fact that the nozzle gets really clogged up because of how thick the conditioner is. If it were a little cheaper I would definitely buy it regularly.
I recieved this along with the shampoo as a gift. I love Bed Head products and I have tried most things in the range.
The conditioner comes in a few different sizes I have the larger 750ml bottle, but a smaller 250ml bottle is avaiable from Amazon for around £9.
The conditioner is designed to be used with the conditioner and is suitable for people with dry and damaged hair. The conditioner contains ingredients to smooth flyaway hair, add shine and prevent dullness as well as adding moisture to dry ends.
To use the conditioner you simply apply to clean damp hair, massage in and leave for a few minutes before rinsing. The conditioner is a lot thicker than the shampoo. It has a really creamy consistency. The fragrance is the same as the shampoo pina colada. It has a heavy pineapple fragrance with just a hint of coconut. The fragrance is yummy and just like holidays. I only used a small amount of this conditioner as it coated my hair really well. I left it in for about 5 minutes to give my dry hair a treat.
The conditioner rinded off really well it didn't leave a 'film' on my hair like I have found other conditioners do.
After using this conditioner I blow dried and straightened my hair as normal.
In the past few weeks my hair has taken a battering with the changing weather and my constant use of heat styling as well as daily swimming the ends were really dry and starting to split. This conditioner restored moisture to my hair. It was soft and managable without being too heavy or weighed down. Like the shampoo the fragrance didn't last for long which was disappointing as it smells really nice. I have a lot of flyaway hair at the moment as after having my daughter I suffered the usual hair loss and now it is starting to grow back there are a lot of 'shorts' which stick up and make me look like I have rubbed a balloon over my hair! This conditioner was great for these as it added enough weight to smooth them without me needing to use a lot of serum and other styling products.
I would definately recommend this for dry hair. 5 out of 5 from me.
When it comes to my hair, I have a couple of favourite brands and as I am more than happy with the results they provide me with, I am loathe to try anything else. However, now and then new products appear which interest me and if they happen to be a decent price or on offer, then I can be swayed into trying something new.
The Tigi Bed Head range is an example of products that I like the look and sound of, however, the price has always been too expensive for me to really consider buying any. After all, I am happy with my regular brands so would not part with more money just to try something that may well turn out to be inferior.
So when I received some Tigi Bed Head Moisture Maniac Shampoo and Conditioner as a gift, I was really pleased. I would finally be able to try out a Tigi Bed Head product and see if it was indeed as good as the hype surrounding it stated.
I found the shampoo to be really nice, but it is almost always the conditioner which is the major factor for me when trying a new shampoo and conditioner. I have long hair and always use a conditioner. Finding one which I really like however, has not always been easy, but there are two conditioners by John Frieda and Pantene which I love. I like a conditioner to leave my hair smooth and tangle free, as well as moisturising the ends of my hair which can become dry and leaving a soft shine or glossy look.
End your fight with snarls and tangles. Stop your struggle with dull, drab hair. These words made this conditioner sound promising, along with its attractive funky packaging and expensive price tag, it does shout out 'quality' to the consumer. I must admit I was not expecting to be disappointed, but wasn't convinced it would be replacing my usual products. I would have to be absolutely blown away by this conditioner, to justify paying £14.95 for a 750ml bottle. Yes this is a large size, but my usual brands are cheaper.
The conditioner felt smooth and creamy in my hands as I applied it to my hair after rinsing out the shampoo. It has quite a thick consistency too, which is something I like in a conditioner. A pale peach colour and a really nice fragrance which was both slightly fruity and floral I thought, this conditioner felt luxurious as I massaged it into my hair, paying extra attention to the ends.
My fingers slipped easily through the lengths of my hair without snagging and as I rinsed the conditioner out, my hair felt smooth and tangle-free. The conditioner was also really easy to rinse out which is another bonus, as I can recall many occasions where I have felt there was residue left in my hair after rinsing out a conditioner.
Green Tea, Sea Kelp and Chamomile are part of the built in moisture complex of this conditioner. This is to revive dull and lifeless hair to soft and silky hair with increased shine.
I wouldn't say my hair is dull and lifeless but the ends can become dry at times, so as long as my conditioner improves the ends of my hair and it feels soft without tangling, then I am satisfied. I also don't like my hair to feel heavy as I have experienced when using some conditioners and thankfully this Moisture Maniac did not leave my hair feeling weighted down at all.
After drying my hair, I could still smell the conditioner, which also lasted throughout the day. My hair felt soft and the ends suitably moisturised. There was no greasiness at the roots - again this is something I have experienced in the past with certain conditioners - and my hair both looked and felt silky smooth.
Overall, I was really pleased with the results this product gave me and I would say it is a really nice product to use, with its creamy, luxurious formula. However, I also achieve these results using my usual conditioners which are cheaper to buy, so the price tag is what puts me off buying this. If I saw it on offer, however, I wouldn't hesitate to buy some.
If you don't mind the price, then I highly recommend Tigi Bed Head Moisture Maniac.
You can buy the Tigi range from many salons, stores and online. It can also be purchased from Amazon.
As I have previously reveiwed the 'moisture maniac' shampoo I feel that it is only fair to reveiw the conditioner as well.
I am a self confessed TIGI addict but I had never noticed the 'moisture maniac' range before. This may be due to its very un-tigi like packaging. Anyway, while I was in a brach of TJ Hughes I spotted this on display.
The packaging of the bottle, as stated, is very plain for a TIGI product. It is a clear bottle with a peach liquid inside. The front of the bottles bears the TIGI bed head logo. I purchased the salon sized bottle so the dispenser is a pump action one rather than a push/pull top. I think that, in a way, this is better as it allows me to control how much product is actually used.
The conditioner itself is very thick and creamy. It also smells quite strongly of peach. Although the smell is strong it is not overpowering or unpleasant. In fact it is quite nice. It should also be noted that a small amount (about a 50 pence piece size) goes a long way.
As instructed by TIGI I applied the conditioner after using the TIGI moisture maniac shampoo. I left it on for the 3-5 minutes (actually, I probably left it on longer) and then rinsed it out.
This product appears to rinse out well, and it leaves no residue. Whilst running my fingers through my hair I did notice that their were no snags or tangles. My hair, although wet, felt extremely healthy and it smelt divine!
After towel drying my hair I blow dried my hair and the difference was amazing. My normally extra wavy (ahem frizzy) hair was very shiny and it seemed more manageable. Although I straightened my hair (I have too, otherwise cousin IT would have a rival!!) I found that I didn't need to use my normal styling products afterwards. My hair was beautifully sleak and shiny. I also noticed that they lovely peach smell was lingering in my hair.
Normally, I need to wash my hair everyday but I have found that, since using this shampoo, I can go two days without washing it. This is good as it will make the product last longer, although since a little goes a long way I am fully expecting my 750ml bottle to last at least a year, if not more!
I feel I should also note (the same as in my shampoo reveiw) the kind of hair that I have. I used to have really damaged hair due to overprocessing/dying/heat treatments etc and used the TIGI 'oatmeal and honey' shampoo and conditioner to repair it. After the condition of my hair improved I found the 'oatmeal and honey' products to be too heavy for my hair (shame as they smelled scrummy). I felt that I still needed a moisture surge so the 'moisture maniac' was the product for me. I have no dry ends and its keeping my hair healthy.
I love TIGI products but this has got to be my all time favourite.
I wrote about the TIGI moisture maniac shampoo I've been using a while back, and thought it was about time I wrote about the matching conditioner which I've also been using.
I bought this product because my hair was looking and feeling quite dried out after the heat of the summer, and the fact I dye my hair and regularly straighten it hasn't helped things. I wanted something that would help restore the moisture to my hair.
Like the shampoo, this product is available in three different sized bottles. I purchased the 750ml salon size which has a pump dispenser, opposed to the other sizes which I think have a pull-up nozzle. The bottle is an orange colour and the bright bottle looks quite young and funky. The only problem I have found is that the nozzles of these bottles can often become a little bit clogged up, but other than that I'm happy with the packaging.
The conditioner is a pale peachy colour and has a similar fruity scent to the matching shampoo, but I would say the conditioners scent is slightly more muted and creamier.
I found the conditioner to be a good consistency, and is neither too thick nor too runny. Having long, thick hair which tangles easily, I need something that will be strong enough to smooth and de-tangle without being so heavy that it will weigh my hair down, and I found this was just the right consistency.
The product smoothes through the hair easily and you don't have to leave it in the hair for any length of time for it to work, so perfect if you're short on time and want to wash and go. They do say though for a more intensive conditioning experience, you can leave this on your hair for 3-5 minutes.
Once rinsed my hair instantly feels smoother and de-tangled. I can't say that this gets rid of all tangles as I sometimes still find the odd one once my hair is dry, however it still feels conditioned and on the whole is smooth and soft.
As for adding moisture, I have found that since using this in conjunction with the shampoo, my hair has felt much less dried out, and looks more moisturised, especially at the ends. As a result of being moisturised my hair also looks shinier and healthier.
I bought this from www.feelunique.com as part of a 'Tween Duo' with the shampoo where it cost £17.95 for the 750ml bottle. It is also available in 400ml and 250ml sizes. As TIGI is a salon brand you can buy it from many salons, but wont find it in shops like Boots. I'd recommend searching online if possible as it can often be found cheapest there.
Overall I found this to be a good conditioner for dried out hair and would definitely use it again.
I had the pleasure of using the Moisture manic shampoo a few months ago, when I was testing out new products in order to give my feedback to clients who came into the salon.
Out of the wide Tigi range I have tried and tested over fifty different products in the last few months and the one that has made a massive impact on me and my hair is the Tigi Moisture maniac shampoo and conditioner.
With this review I am going to tell you all about the Tigi moisture maniac conditioner that can be used along side the shampoo to give your hair the indulgence it deserves.
THE MOISTURE MANIAC CONDITIONER
The conditioner is designed to be used along side the moisture maniac shampoo, but I have found it can be used with any other leading brand shampoos and still provide you with amazing results.
The conditioner reinforces your hairs natural moisture and provides it with a spectacular shine and softness.
I would personally say this was better suited to hair that has been overstressed by the application of colours, bleach and repeated hair straightening. I have really long hair that has been dyed brown after having bleach highlights for as long as I can remember. So as you can imagine it is very dry and lacks shine.
This conditioner has a unique blend of organic herbs and flowers and these really come through in the peachy smell that indulges you once the bottle is opened, not only that these special ingredients help rejuvenate my dull hair leaving it very sleek and shiny.
This is applied to pre - washed wet hair, to apply it smooth a small amount into your hairs mid lengths and ends, gently massage this into your hair and rinse as normal. If you want an intensive treatment leave this on for five minutes before rinsing the conditioner out. Then style as normal.
This will instantly make you hair much more manageable, I can now get my fingers through it without losing any hair while I am washing it, this also makes it much easier to comb and style afterwards and I no longer need to use specialised styling products to achieve nice shiny results on my very dry and brittle hair.
The conditioner is a pale orange / peach colour that comes in a thick cream, which makes it very easy to apply while you are in the shower, with the unique push pull top the conditioner is dispensed easily with out wasting any product.
You can buy this in two different sizes the first being the 250ml size which comes with a push pull cap or a 750 ml larger size which comes with a pump, which is a much better designed bottle but it is on the expensive side.
As this conditioner has a built in Moisture Complex, which contains ingredients such as Green Tea, Sea Kelp and Chamomile. It instantly revives dull and lifeless hair, increases shine and makes is silky soft to touch.
I really can not rate this moisture maniac any higher, it certainly does what it says on the bottle and has boosted my hairs colour and condition no end. As a hairdresser I have to say this is one of the best conditioners I have ever tried on my dull and damaged hair.
WHERE TO BUY THE SHAMPOO
As I have said you can buy this in two different sizes.
250ml bottles at £6.45 and 750ml bottles at £ 9.45. Some places will also sell the salon litre bottles, but this will be down to the retailer, as not all of them are willing to sell the salon sizes.
You can buy this conditioner and the shampoo from any TIGI registered hair salon, or you can buy it online at a slightly cheaper price from places such as Ebay.co.uk and Amazon.co.uk.
If you have hair which I call overstressed, such as chemically treated, highlighted, dry, brittle, and over straightened hair then this is the conditioner for you. It will instantly add shine and soften your hair not only in texture but also in appearance, making it look a lot healthier.
Don't get me wrong this is not a miracle conditioner that will repair dry damaged hair that have been ruined by heat and chemical exposure, the only way for this do become healthy again is to cut the dead hair off.
If this is not an option for you then you need to try this as it helps make the most damaged hair type's look and feel great, it also helps manage the difficult hair until it grows out.
For the price many my think it is expensive, yes it is a little bit pricy but worth it in the long run as it prevents any further damage and stops the breakage of hair.
Tigi Moisture Maniac conditioner matches the shampoo in this particular range, like the shampoo it is a silent winner stacked there on the shelves in your local salon along with all the other tigi goodies and doesn't immediately jump out at you as a potential purchase.
However, don't let that fool you, this is one of the best ranges that Tigi produce by a long shot, it smells divine like many of the other products they do but leaves your hair looking feeling and smelling amazing.
Tigi products don't come cheap but they are very concentrated and do last for absolutely ages. This conditioner is no exception, it is very thick and very rich and a little really does go a long way.
Quite often you're tempted to go for the most colourful looking Tigi product and this I think looks a bit sad sat there on the shelf! but don't let that fool you, this really is one of the best ranges they do.
