I have thin hair which can be quite limp and as a result I've tried several thickening and volumising products.
Small talk is applied to towel-dried hair. Pump out a good 10p piece size amount onto your hands (I have mid-length fine hair), rub together, and massage into hair root to tip. The brush through and blow dry.
The product itself is white and quite gloopy and sticky in consistency. The first time you use it you wonder if it is going to make your hair feel crunchy or give you that sticky product build-up feel at the roots. As long as you don't use too much it really doesn't. As with all Tigi products it also smells great. The smell is strong and fruity, which you will be familiar with if you've used Tigi products before. I guess some people might find the smell a little bit sickly. When dry though it leaves a really nice gentle pleasant smell on the hair.
The packaging is nice, although not really travel friendly (I can't figure out how to lock the pump down, so if I'm travelling I always have a fear that it's going to squirt all over my luggage! Because of the consistency of the product, it can dry in the pump, so when you pump out some product you often have to pick out the little hard bit that dried at the end.
When you've dried your hair you're left with a gentle lift and extra body, great for daytime but not a high volume evening look. It doesn't give much in the way of hold, so your hair still has natural movement. It also smooths and de-frizzes, as well as some heat protection.
For someone who suffers with limp hair, I think this is a great product, it certainly works for me!
I hate it when my hair goes flat at the roots and loses its life so I am often trying out new volumising products to help it get some lift. I really love the TIGI products and so I thought I would give Small Talk a go.
What does the product do?
The product is essentially a temporary hair thickener which promises to add volume and body to the hair. It also claims that it separate and define your layers giving your hair beautiful movement and style. In addition, it should give the hair a gorgeous shine and help to control frizziness while also protecting the hair from heat damage.
How do you use the product?
After shampooing and conditioning the hair, you can then apply this product to the hair while it is still damp. You dispense some of the product into your hands and then smooth it through damp hair. The more you use, the bigger the hair. You can then dry and style the hair in the usual way.
Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a cute purpley pink circular tub. It has a bright green dispenser on which you push in order to release the product. The packaging is eye catching and fun, although it doesn't match my bathroom at all! The product will cost you around £10 for 200ml of Small Talk and it can be bought from most good hair dressers and also from a variety of online websites.
Application and Performance
The product smells delicious as you would expect from a TIGI product. It is fruity and like a mixture between blackberry and grapes. The smell is very evident when you are applying the product to the hair and it is quite strong. The product has a thick consistency and it feels quite tacky and sticky when you rub it onto your hands. I did wonder whether I'd be able to get a brush through my hair once it was dry! My hair was actually easy to brush through so it didn't make it all tangled.
Once my hair was dry, it has slightly more volume but nothing too massive. It stayed that way throughout the day and found the volume was enough for the day time but it isn't enough for an evening out. You have to make sure that when you apply the product, you have used it evenly or it might go crunchy in parts and I would never be tempted to use it on dry hair. My hair still has movement and it's quite textured so you can see my layers better. It has a bit of extra shine and it has the faint scent of blackberries left in it.
All in all, this product does give my hair extra volume and movement. It smells fruity and it's easy to use. I like the product and will continue to use it. I probably wouldn't repurchase once it was gone as I think other products do a better job but I don't anticipate this running out anytime soon as you only use a little bit at a time.
I buy hair care products that try and inject a little bit of life into my pathetically limp hair. Sometimes I feel like I must over straighten or dry it as it is often lifeless but with frizzy uncontrollable bits! I bought the Bed Head Small Talk as it promised to do three things: Thickify (apparently it is cool to invent new words these days) Energise and stylise. Catchy eh?
This is an expensive product and I paid around £10.00 for a 200ml bottle from my Salon.
The design of the bottle is very funky, it is a purple ball with a little pump dispenser. There is a tag on it that says, "blah, blah, blah." I'm not sure what this is all about really, but as far as the design of the bottle is concerned, it is a winner. I must say, I have had this bottle for over six months (I do not use it every day) and now the pump is starting to not dispense the remainder of the liquid. The lid screws off though so you can tip it and bang it into your hand to make sure you get the entire expensive product out. Apart from this, the bottle looks great and I like the design of it.
The actual product smells fruity and the consistency is quite runny. It is not greasy and feels quite silky when I run it through my hair.
I have had this bottle for over a year and do not use it that regularly as it makes my hair a bit greasy if I use it all the time. I tend to favour using it when I am going to be styling my hair for a night out. The directions are easy to follow; I simply squirt a small amount into my hand, rub it between my fingers and then massage it into my hair before combing it though. It does not need much of the product as too much will make it greasy.
I like the way my hair feels after using this product, it seems to make it have more body and it is easy to control and manage. The product claims that it will 'thickify;' I guess that the product means volume when it says this and indeed I do feel that the product helps create a more manageable voluptuous look. The other claims; energise and stylise are slightly annoying buzz words; however I do feel that the product does help inject a bit of life into my hair.
I like using the product, but it is not something I can use regularly on a day to day basis as it starts to make my hair feel heavy and a bit greasy after a while. Using it a couple of times a week is enough for me and I never spend too much attention on my hair when I am just getting ready for work.
I will not be rushing out to buy Small Talk again when this bottle is empty; it is something I can live without. There are plenty of other products on the market that can do this job and I would prefer to try something else.
I have thin hair, but a lot of it. Before I discovered this product even on good hair days my barnet could look a little limp. **Enter TIGIs Bed Head Small Talk 3-in-1** Not anymore though! This product is one of the best (if not the best) I have found.
This retails at anywhere between £10-18 for 200ml. I used to pay £18 for this, but then I realised you can get it for a fraction of the price if you look in the right places. You can find it cheaper online, but then you can have the added cost of postage and packaging. I usually buy this from my local hair salon though, so just have a good look round for the best price.
The bottle is quirky and stands out on the shelf. The bottle is purple ball, and the cap is a bright green pump. The packing is different to any I have ever seen, and I think it looks great on my shelf! The packaging is recyclable after you have finished with the product.
The serum is thick and white, with a lovely smell. The fragrance is fresh and fruity, and it will last on your hair, even after styling.
To use, you apply to towel dried hair after a shower or bath. One pump of the serum is plenty. I rub it on the palms on my hands first, and then work into my hair, making sure I get right to the roots.
I would suggest that you experiment with how much you use, you may need more or less depending on the length, style and thickness of your hair. But, beware not use too much at once because it can leave you hair 'crispy' and stuck together, which isn't really the look most people want.
Because you don't need that much, the 200ml bottle will last you a very long time.
This product is a 'thickifier', 'energizer', and 'stylizer' all in one. At first you can't see the effects of the serum, but once your hair is dry you can definitely tell that your hair has more volume and body. I have used before blow drying and styling, and just leaving my hair to dry naturally, and both work great.
The bottle claims that this product 'adds body and volume' 'gives life to limp hair' and that it 'defines separates and controls' you hair. I would agree with these claims, you can certainly tell the difference to your hair after use!
I have curly hair and (if I'm leaving my hair natural) this product will define and separate my curls, to give me more volume, but it keeps control of my hair at the same time. This product also helps eliminate frizz.
This Small Talk product also has built in heat protection, meaning that you don't have to pile millions of different products onto your hair!
You must use this product 12 months after opening it.
In conclusion, this is one of the best hair products I have found. Despite being a little pricey, I love this serum and I would highly recommend to anyone who wants more volumised hair! 5 out of 5 stars from me!
Thank you for reading this review, I hope it was of some use to you!

I have had this product from Tigi for a little while now and I still have mixed feelings about it in fact I have a bit of a love hate relationship with it. On one hand it does when used on wet hair give great results but the smell is horribly sickly sweet like bubble gum and if I use it on dry hair it makes my hair look lank and greasy.
As with most Tigi products the packaging is very cute and funky the bottle is a small pink ball with a green dispenser. The dispenser works well and gives just the right amount of product with each depression. The problem with the dispenser part is two fold though it gunk's up very easily and it is best to give it a wipe after each use to stop this happening. The other is that the dispenser is non locking and this makes it really hard to pack for when you're traveling and you need to put it into something to stop it leaking in your bag is it has done for me on one occasion.
I generally apply this to my hair when it's damp. It can be used on dry hair but the occasions I have tried this it has made my hair look lank. With damp hair I find it is best to apply one squirt of the dispenser which is just the amount the size of a pea and apply this by running it through my hair. I personally avoid my roots as this seems to suit my hair best as the occasion it has gone to my roots it has felt heavy and over processed in this area. The pea size amount is more than plenty for my shoulder length fine hair. I then use a diffuser on my hair drier to dry my hair. It does live up to its claims of giving volume. The volume it gives is nice and bouncy and sleek to look at rather than a 60's style bouffant look. The other nice thing about this is that the hair rather than feeling over styled actually is very soft to the touch and it makes my hair feel well nourished I find after using this my hair is much manageable which makes it more easier to style especially if I am straightening it. This is as it actually makes my hair seem to be straighter and not frizzy or fluffy in anyway.
Tigi also claim that this product helps with split hairs and whilst I don't think this product actually heals them it does make them seem less noticeable.
The smell of this product is something that I really don't like and it is an artificial strawberry to me and it reminds me of the bubble gum I used to have as a child which as someone close to 40 is not an image I would like to portray to people. For this reason I tend to perhaps not use this as often as I would like as I really only wear it with strong perfume that I wear on an evening to try to combat the scent.
Overall and recommendation
I have mixed feelings about this product I love the effect it has on my hair when I use it but the smell is something that just puts me off using it regularly. If I could have the benefits of this product with a different smell I would give it four starts but as the smell and the problems with locking the dispenser annoy me I am only going to give it 3 stars. At around £7.50 for a bottle depending on the retailer and I would advise getting off in the Internet as the bargains are better than in salons it is a good product that last ages.
Water, VP/DMAPA Acrylates Copolymer, Cyclomethicone, Polyquaternium 37, Dimethicone, Dimethiconol, Styrene/Butadiene Copolymer, Parfum (Fragrance), Polysorbate 60, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Cetearyl Alcohol, PPG 1 Trideceth 6, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Helianthus Annuus (Organic Sunflower) Oil, Panthenol (provitamin B5), Bacopa Monniera Extract, Cinnamidopropyl Trimethyl Ammonium Chloride, Butylene Glycol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Acid, Methylisothiazolinone, Methylchloroisothiazolinone
Tigi's bed head range, Small Talk was something my hairdresser recommended to me a few years ago. At first I was suspicious because my head of fine, straight hair can react badly to anything that weighs it down.
At first you get the feeling of dread as you pump out this thick glue-like liquid on to your palms, but, use it sparingly (about one pump of the bottle should be enough for shoulder length hair) on towel dried hair, make sure it is well worked into the air from the ends up to the roots ( in that order to save weighing the roots down) and you're away.
The bottle itself is a really cool design and looks really funky on the dressing table.
I can't say I particularly like the fragrance straight from the bottle, it does have a very sickly sweet aroma. But once your hair has been blow dried, the smell that lingers on your hair is reduced to something much more fruity and pleasant.
Ta advantages of small talk is that it really smooths out your hair, I love how soft it feels afterwards and how bouncy my hair feels.
However, as I entioned earlier, it takes a lot to keep my fine hair from going limp by the end of the day. Unless I follow with a good dose of hairspray, my hair, unfortunately doesn't last until supper time :-) but I hasten to add to this that nothing does with my hair. This product is one of the best I have used so far.
Try it! Even if you have fine hair!
I wouldn't recommend using this productbon dry hair if it's fine like mine is. Any more than you would certain gels and wax though. If you're not careful small talk can leave your hair looking like you've dipped it in the chip fryer!
Ladies with flat hair look no further! This product is AMAZING! I love TIGI products but often battle as to whether or not they're worth the money. I am constantly on a budget but Small Talk is definitely one of my guilty splurges. It. Is. Just. Too. Good!
***HOW DO I USE IT?***
My hair has a life of its own but when it's flat, it is FLAT! I'll use Small Talk on a day when I can't be bothered to find out what my hair decides to do that day, and apply it immediately after towel-drying my hair. I found that it's best to squirt a little of the serum onto your palm first, rub throughout your hands and in between your fingers, and then go to work on your hair. I start at my roots and work my way outwards and try to apply as evenly as possible. As with many hair products, start with a small amount! One of my main problems is I use too much too soon. From experience a little goes a long way! You don't want a greaseball of a head. I only use one and a half pumps for all of my hair, and I have A LOT of hair.
***WHY IT IS SO GOOD?***
One thing I absolutely adore about this product is the smell. It is fruity and delicious and what's great is the smell lasts, even after your hair is blow-dried and styled. The serum itself is white and gooey and smells delectably fruity and scrumptious.
Once I've dried my hair after using Small Talk, it has noticeably more volume and definitely looks thicker, but in a controlled way. My hair also maintains its volume after I've styled with my blow-dryer and GHD's, and sort-of bounces. I'm not claiming Cheryl Cole bouncy hair, but still fantastic for a high street product. I can even tie my hair back, but once I release it the volume is maintained.
Small Talk also helps to protect your hair against the heat of your styling tools, which I always think is an added bonus, considering you can get heat-protecting products but that's all they do. Small Talk does so much more!
***WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT?***
I can find very little at fault with Small Talk. The only snag I will mention is if you use too much - DON'T USE TOO MUCH! As with so many hair products your hair will just end up greasy and completely defeat the whole point in using it in the first place. I'm always surprised at how little I actually have to use. It's fantastic because it lasts such a long time!
Small Talk is typical TIGI, with a brightly-coloured, funky purple plastic bottle and bright green squirter. I love not having to fiddle about when your hands are greasy, so the squirter is great, instead of having an awkward cap.
As with all TIGI products Small Talk is on the pricey side. I get mine ages ago from my local salon but it was around the £10 mark. I've had a little hunt around online and the price for the standard 200ml bottle seems to vary between about £8 - £18! (Please don't pay £18 for this, if you do you're getting ripped off!)
- Fantastic for volumising flat hair
- Smells divine
- A little goes a long way!
Bedhead by TIGI are an extremely well known and fashionable brand at the moment. They do other product ranges such as Catwalk and 'green' products however Bedhead is my personal favourite. They do a varying range of products that cater for all hair types, lengths and colours and although they are a little pricey, the quality of their hair products is excellent which for me, fully justifies the price.
Where can you buy it?
This is one of many great products amongst the TIGI Bedhead range which can be bought from the majority of hairdressers, the TIGI website or sites such as Amazon and eBay for around £7.
You will find this product packaged in a 200ml spherical shaped purple bottle with a green dispenser which has its name 'Small Talk' and what it will do to your hair on the side.
What does it claim to do?
TIGI will tell you that this product is a thickifier, energizer and a stylizer. So when you purchase it you are basically getting three products for the price of one! It claims to control frizz and give you volume and hold.
How do apply...
For the best results I would advise you to use this product on towel dried, combed hair. You only need to press the pump once, which will give you enough product to distribute all over your hair in the amount of a five pence piece. It appears quite gooey and glue like and it is white in colour. It smells divine, likes fresh fruits... Good enough to eat, honestly! When you apply it, be sure not to start at the roots and too much product may leave your roots greasy. I usually start mid way down my hair, concentrate on the ends and use the excess on my roots afterwards. Make sure you have a towel handy as it can get quite sticky if you don't wipe it off! Now, just dry your hair as normal.
You can also use it on dry hair as a styler and I apply it similar to a wax but you only need a tiny bit because otherwise it will just go hard and it wont look nice at all. I'd say it is much better to use on wet hair and if you're looking for a dry hair wax product have a look at the Rockaholic range by TIGI, or if you're wanting to stick to Bedhead check out 'Manipulator'.
What are the results?
When I use this product on my hair, it appears much bouncier and as it is very long, it stops it from feeling weighed down. It gives me volume at the roots and makes it feel much thicker and fuller without feeling heavy.
If you apply if to your hair and don't dry it properly, it can leave you with hard sections where the product has dried by itself. This is because the product is very thick but it can be easily avoided by distributing it evenly and doing it with care. Also, if you forget to wipe your hands after it can become very sticky!
Overall, I'd recommend this product to anyone who is trying to tame their hair or is just looking for some extra volume and lift. For me it deserves 5 stars as not only does it deliver excellent results, it'll look great on your dressing table!
As you would have seen from my other reviews I love Bed Head and have tried several of the products. I bought this last month after my cousin who is a hairdresser recommended it. I have recently changed my hair from a full fringe with short layers, to just a straightforward side parting and I am growing my fringe out. The only problem with having longer parted hair is that it can look flat and get weighted down. I was looking for something hat would give it volume at the roots and this didn't disappoint.
The product comes in a purple bottle with a lime green dispenser. You get 200ml and this costs about £7.50 on amazon or ebay. The prodcut describes itself as a 3 in 1 and Tigi say that it contains;
- Panthenol (Vitamin B-5) - Conditions & moisturises hair
- Cyclomethicone - Conditions hair & adds shine
- Alkyl Benzoate - Conditions hair & adds shine
- Jojoba Oil - Adds shine & manageability and smoothes hairs cuticle
- Sunflower Seed Oil - Natural emulsifier
- VP/DMAPA Acrylate - Thermal protectant
- Bacopa Monniera Extract - Environmental protectant
It also states on the back that it gives volumised hair and controls frizz.
To use this product you have to work a small amount through damp hair before styling. The first thing you notice when you dispense this is the lovely fruity smell, which Tigi describe as blueberries. The product is a white cream you only need about one pump for mid length hair. It is recommended for all hair types and can be used with any of the shampoos in the Bed Head range.
I noticed after using this that my hair had more life at the roots. It also has a good 'hold' factor and I found that my hair didn't go flat throughout the day. This has now become a firm favourite of mine. You only need to use a small amount judging by what I have used so far I would think this would last me about 6 months so it is good value.
Until a few months ago I never really bothered with expensive hair care products. In my opinion I spend enough on my make-up so another expense was something I really didnt need! But just before New Year I had my hair cut & re-styled and I made the decision to start making more of an effort on my locks and in my eyes that meant spending a little bit extra on the products I use on it and on the recommendation of my hairdresser I decided to check out the TIGI range. I only meant to buy 1 or 2 items but half my bathroom is now covered in Bed Head bottles the latest addition being this 'TIGI - Bed Head Small Talk' which I have to admit I mainly bought because I was attracted to the bottle. Thankfully it has turned out to be a brilliant product so I didnt waste all that money on some pretty packaging!
Price: I paid around £7.50 - prices vary greatly on all TIGI products so shop around before you buy!
Stockists: Amazon, TIGI website & most hair salons stock this brand.
Other Info: This product is supposed to be kind of like a 3in1 it promises to - add body and volume, give life to your limp hair & defines, seperates & controls.
*This product is said to work just as brilliantly on all hair types and lengths so it doesnt matter if you have short hair, thin, thick, coloured, dry anyone is able to use this and it is said to work just as well regardless. I personally have quite long and coloured hair and it works wonders on mine so Id recommend it for people with hair like mine. It does wonders for split ends!!*

As I mentioned the first thing that attracted me to this product was the packaging as, as with all the TIGI range it is colourful and very unique. The bottom of the packaging is a large purple ball shape and the top is a small, bright green pump which you use to get the product out - much better than a normal bottle as it means you dont waste any at all when you use this. The top can be screwed off to see how much product you have left - I think you can take this to be re-filled in some places - but even though the bottom is coloured you can still see exactly how much product you have left. All around the purple part is all the information you could possibly need - ingredients, shelf life (12m), directions for use etc so any questions you may have should be answered on the bottle. I love this bottle as its eye-catching and it looks great on my bathroom shelf - even if it is starting to look like the best part of a hair salon! LOL.

I dont normally add ingredients to my reviews but in the case of Bed Head products I think it is important because the ingredients are directly related to the effects it has on your hair. So the important ingredients in this (and their features) are -
- Panthenol (Vitamin B-5) - Conditions & moisturizes hair
- Cyclomethicone - Conditions hair & adds shine
- Alkyl Benzoate - Conditions hair & adds shine
- Jojoba Oil - Adds shine & manageability and smoothes hair'scuticle
- Sunflower Seed Oil - Natural emulsifier
- VP/DMAPA Acrylate - Thermal protectant
- Bacopa Monniera Extract - Environmental protectant
So basically this one does have literally everything your hair needs to look and feel better and the best thing is this one actually helps improve the condition of your hair long term rather than just immediate results. It helps condition and add shine to your hair short term but helps protect it against heat, bad weather and other environmental factors long term so this is just what Im looking for - I only need one product to do everything my hair needs.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
To use this is actually very simple. You simply push the pump down - I personally think one pump is more than enough for me and I have very long hair - and then you simply apply the 'desired' amount into your hair try and make sure you distribute the evenly all over your hair mainly concentrating on the ends as in my case those are the parts that need the most attention. This product is really creamy and thick so that means you dont need to use loads to get the best results - in fact less is more in this case because a 5p sized amount will cover all of your hair and it wont become greasy or need washing more often and you will get better effects by just using a small amount and then the bottle will last much longer so in a way that does justify the price. Also DONT apply this to dry hair it wont work and you will end up with greasy locks so its not worth even trying, apply this to wet hair and then style as normal and you should get the best results. This even helps my hair dry quicker which when Im in a rush is a god send and hopefully once youve done that you should be left with gorgeous looking and feeling hair - long and short term.
Now the smell of Bed Head products is always something that factors in my decision when buying them because they always smell amazing. On amazon the scent of this is described as Blueberry but I have to totally disagree - that isnt a bad thing because I think in reality this smells much nicer than people will expect. This does have a fruity/berry edge to it but it smells much more like toffee or caramel in my opinion which makes it so much nicer as that fragrance is right up my street. Even though it is a sugary sweet scent it isnt too strong or overpowering so I dont think anyone will hate it as it isnt offensive to the senses at all. Once Ive applied this the smell lasts all day which is odd considering I use heat appliances on it afterwards mixed with the fact that Im also a smoker - no fragrance lasts on my hair normally so Im very happy to say this one does. It lasts all day long and I get lovely whafts of this all day so smell wise its much better than I expected. One for everyone - even if sugary fragrances arent normally your thing.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Im even happier to report that the effects are better than the scent. Short term this is fantastic for me - it gives my hair a real lift and added shine wihtout making it look greasy in the slightest. It helps make my hair look and feel really healthy and gives the illusion that its in really good condition and makes it feel it as well which is something a lot of products just cant live up to - my hair isnt the best at all and this makes it look as if Ive had to professionally styled. After using this my hair is more managable and easy to style and actually helps with straightening as this makes it appear straighter and makes it stay that way without any frizz for much longer than usual which again is something most products just cant achieve. Long term effects are even better because this is actually helping heal my hair - the split ends dont seem as visible and it doesnt feel as straw like as it did before so I guess it really does help protect your hair from pretty much anything that usually harms it. This is working wonders on my hair so far and as I said Ive only been using this for about a month now so imagine how brilliant the results will be when Ive been using this for a year! I cant recommend this highly enough and if your going to try just one TIGI product I have to say make it this one as it does everything it promises and makes your hair look and feel so much better - especially if it isnt in the best condition to start with. Definitely buy a bottle of this - I dont think anyone would regret it!

What is it?
3 in 1 Hair Thickener by Tigi Bed Head called 'Small Talk'
Fab!! This product really works and is a pleasure to use. If you want fuller, thicker hair then this is a great alternative to mousse. The consistency of the product is like a very thick, whitish serum. . . looks like runny glue I think! But smells gorgeous! Very fruity.
Small Talk is described on the bottle as a 'Thickifier,' 'Energizer' and 'Stylizer'. Anyone can use this product, no matter what your hair type, and I found that the best way to use this product was to first wash my hair as normal, towel dry, gently comb out any knots and then pump out a few drops of Small Talk onto my hand. Then, I rubbed the product lightly all over my palms and dispersed the product through my hair with my fingers so that my hair was nicely coated.
Then I combed through my hair again so that every inch of my hair was covered. I wouldn't advise pumping the product onto your brush first and then combing through as your brush will get a lot of product build up!
After I had dried and styled my hair as normal, my hair looked much fuller and felt really thick ! And not heavy either. There was lots of body too.
There is no reason why you can't use this product on dry hair, but would suggest only using it the way you would use a serum in this state, otherwise it gets a little greasy.
Small Talk comes in a really funky, distinctive,Purple bottle (plastic) and you despense the product from the green pump on the top!
Where can I get this?
Lots of hair dressers stock Tigi now. But you can get this product online too. Prices vary depending on where you can get this. I would love to see this product in a local boots or superdrug some day!
I am a big fan of the products in the Tigi range and Small Talk did not let me down. Small Talk boasts that it is a 3-in-1 product and it does not disappoint.
Usually on hair products there will be some form of directions to follow (ie, apply to damp hair and comb through) however there are no directions/instructions on the bottle. I played about with it and found it can be used at several different stages when styling your hair. You can use it after washing, when your hair is wet, applying before blow drying straight. You can also apply to dry hair as it acts like a serum would, smoothing any fly away hairs and de-frizzing. It is also really good for curly styles if applied when wet and then scrunched into the hair.
There are only two negative aspects of Small Talk that I have found. The first is that if you use to much of the product it does cause the hair to look greasy (the plus side of this is that you only need to use a little bit of the product so the 200ml bottle lasts for AGES!!). The second is the pump style dispenser, which is fine to use but if you want to take the product on holiday with you (when your hair is most likely to be in need of product) there is no lid so its likely to go everywhere and is a bit of a pain to pack.
On the whole 2 small negative points for a brilliant product. Very cost effective (I have had my current bottle for about 9months!) oh and it smells gorgeous, I think like bubblegum! Would definitely recommend this product to anyone who likes to use serum on their hair, as it acts like a de-frizzer in the same way yet also adds volume! Will be buying some more when mine runs out xx
Small talk has to be one of my favourite Bed Head products. I used to work helping out at a local salon and during my breaks I couldn't resist sniffing their products because they smelt so nice. Small Talk is big attitude in a little bottle. It gives your hair a great boost and although the texture isn't that great, I loved how much thicker my hair looked after blow drying. The fusion of the berry scent is so divine and it is a product I take round with me whenever I'm away from home. This little bottle may be quite expensive but it will last you. It is far better to spend a little bit extra on this product when it has lasted me at least 6months. All it takes is a small amount each time you blow dry your hair and the results are truly great. A few sentences back, I did say that the texture wasn't so great, which I still believe is true. It comes across quite sticky and gloopy but apart from that, I have no hesitation in saying that this is one of my favourite products and I highly recommend it.
I have been using this product for years now and I can honestly say that it is one of the best styling products I have ever used. I first came across it when I had my hair styled at quite a pricey salon.
Firstly, the packaging looks great. I love the round bottle and the green pump, it makes for a very interesting and eye catching contrast. The bottle is quite compact so it is easy to take away with you on holiday or weekends away. You can also lock the pump by pressing it all the way down and twisting it, this is very handy to make sure you're clothes don't get covered in it whilst in your suitcase.
The bottle is 200mls. It can be a bit pricey but you can get it for a lot cheaper than what you would pay for it in a salon by searching online. There are many many sites that stock it.
You only need a very small amount and it really does go a long way. I have had my current bottle for about a year and a half and I am just beginning to reach the bottom.
It leaves your hair feeling soft, silky and shiny. Great to use before blow drying, and the smell is divine.
Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
I would also recommend checking out some of the other products from the same range.
I bought this product about two years ago after the hairdresser used it on my hair after a cut and blow dry. I use it after every time I've washed my hair (which is every other day) and even now - two years on, I still have a quarter of the bottle left. You cant say fairer than that!
Its listed on the bottle as being a stylizer, thickener and energiser. To
me, to be honest, that sounds like hairdresser jargon. For me, I use it
after I've straightened my hair to give me some lift and body at the roots
and keep the length smooth and sleek. You don't need to use much, which is why it lasts forever, and its really keeps the frizz at bay. Plus it has an almost bubblegum fragrance which is amazing.
When I bought this it cost me about £8, but prices may have gone up since then. It may seem quite expensive compared to other brands, but seeing as its lasted so long it has worked out well worth the money. Besides, I believe that TJ Hughes are currently stocking a lot of the Tigi range so it may work out cheaper in there.
I haven't gotten to the bottom of the bottle yet - so I don't know if the
pump on it will mean that there will be wastage that you cant get to in the bottom, but I don't really mind even if that is the case. For as long as
its lasted I really wont complain and I will definitely replenish as soon
as I need to!!
