A sweet smelling shampoo which cleanses well but fails on the volume front

I there's one thing I hate as much as my hair been frizzy and wild, it's when my hair looks flat. I often try new volumising hair products and as I am a big TIGI fan, I thought I try using the Bed Head Styleshots Epic volume shampoo and conditioner. This is review of the shampoo.

      What does the product do?
The shampoo promises to give you hair which is bursting with bounce and volume. It claims that it will take you new heights, defying gravity and make it look incredibly full. These are some big claims!! Obviously as this product is a shampoo, its main purpose is to cleanse the hair removing dirt, grease and hair product. It has been specifically designed for use on those with fine hair.

      Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a hot pink plastic bottle. It has some silver and black bands across it which give a little extra information about the product. It stands on a cloudy flip top lid which is easy to open and close even when your hands are wet and soapy. You can also get a larger similarly designed bottle which has a pump style dispenser which you push down on in order to release the shampoo.

The product won't come cheap as its been created by TIGI. It will cost you around £10 for 250ml of the shampoo and nearly £20 for the larger bottles. It can be bought from a variety of online websites and also from most good hair salons.

      Aroma and Consistency
The best thing about the TIGI products are the fact that they all smell so delicious. This one definitely doesn't let the team down either. It has a strong aroma of fruity strawberries mixed with a delicious creaminess. It may not be to everyone's liking but to me, it smells good enough to eat and isn't sickly or too sugary. The shampoo has a thicker consistency than the average shampoo which is a common theme with this brand.

      Application and Performance
As the product has such a thick consistency, I feel like I need to use lots of it in order to be able to coat my hair properly which is a shame when you consider the price. Once it is worked into the hair however, it starts to foam nicely so it makes you feel like its doing a good job of cleansing the hair. The lovely aroma is evident the whole time which makes the experience an enjoyable one. It doesn't irritate my scalp or cause to feel any discomfort. When it comes to the time to rinse the product out, it comes out quickly and easily.

It isn't very hydrating so once my hair was dry, I did notice it was a little bit tangled and not as soft as it could have been. It didn't have much shine to it either. It wasn't dry or in a bad condition but I don't think it made my hair look any better. It was very clean and all of my hair spray and grease was gone and it stayed gone for around 48 hours which is what I look for in my hair products. As for the volume? I can't say I noticed any difference. It might have given it a bit of volume in the roots but nothing to blow you away. The product has been designed for those with fine hair which mine is definitely not so maybe those with fine hair would have better luck.

      Conclusion
This product smells completely delicious like Strawberry Hubba Bubba bubblegum. It does cleanse the hair well although it doesn't soften or hydrate the hair. I can't say that it added much volume to the hair, if any, so although it's a good shampoo it doesn't keep the promise of defying gravity in my books so I won't be repurchasing this one.
