“ Brand: Tigi / Type: Hair Shampoo / Working for: curly hair / Product line: Tigi Bed Head Styleshots „
As mentioned in the previous review, my hair is very frizzy and being neither straight nor curly, it is some wavy mess inbetween. It feels as if I spend the majority of my life straightening and blow drying my hair because if I leave it to dry naturally, it resembles a very messy birds nest. This is why I decided to buy the Bedhead Styleshots Hi Def Curls Shampoo and Conditioner.
What does the product do?
As the product is a shampoo, it's main aim is to cleanse your hair to leave it free from any impurities, grease or products. The shampoo promises to be 'ultra moisturising' and when hair is hydrated then it isn't frizzy. It claims to contain a shot of 'curl booster' which will leave your curls defined, softer, tamed and easy to manage.
How do you use the product?
The product should be used in the same way as you would use your usual shampoo. It is to be applied generously to damp hair and it should be massaged into the roots, length and ends of the hair. It is then to be rinsed out thoroughly and then followed up with a good conditioner. It should then be dried and styled in the usual way. I just left my hair to dry naturally.
Packaging and Price
The product is packaging in exactly the same way as the conditioner. It comes contained within pretty, shiny purple plastic bottle which has a pump dispenser on the top on which you push down on in order to release the product. It also comes contained within a smaller bottle which has a flip top lid on which it can stand and this is also purple. The large 750ml bottle will cost around £20 and the smaller bottle will cost around £10. The shampoo can be bought from most good hairdressers and from a variety of online websites.
The shampoo has been given the same scent as the conditioner which is a combination of lemon tart and rhubard. It has the same sweetness as the conditioner, and again it is quite sickly, and it is just as strong. If you don't like the aroma of the conditioner, then you won't like this either. The product has a slightly thicker consistency than you would expect from a normal shampoo and you need to apply quite a few pumps of the product in order to feel like it's doing a good job. The shampoo does lather but not a lot but it still feels like it's coating and cleansing the hair well. It feels completely comfortable on the scalp and it hasn't caused me any irritations. It is easily rinsed out of the hair and it doesn't take long for it all to be washed out.
The aroma of the shampoo lingers in the hair long after it has dried so if you don't like the fragrance, there's no point in buying this one. My hair does feel really clean after use and all hair spray etc has been removed. It looks really fresh after use and it feels soft and bouncy. The frizziness is reduced and my waves are much more defined although this could be partly contributed to the conditioner. It is easier to manage and it isn't weighed down. It keeps my hair clean enough for me to only wash it every other day which is a real time saver for me.
All in all, this is a nice moisturising shampoo which when used along side the matching conditoner reduces the frizz in my hair and defines my waves. My hair is really clean and fresh after use and it feel soft and bouncy. Again, it makes you smell like a lemon tart which won't be to everyones liking but the results of the product make it worth while.
