Tigi Catwalk is a professional haircare brand designed by hairdressers. Their website states that the brand takes its inspiration from the backstage world of fashion, celebrity and beauty. It brings specialist products and techniques to let you create the latest on-trend looks with speed and ease.
The Your Highness Collection is a range of products to give volume to hair from the roots and therefore give hair body and movement. As someone with very thin and fine hair that I have to wash every day I am always experimenting with different products to give volume and started using this Tigi range a few months ago.
The shampoo comes in a 300ml purple bottle with silver writing on it which looks quite glamorous and sophisticated. the bottle fits easily into a shower rack and has a twist top to open it which is really useful when in the shower as you don't end up having to take the top off (and then usually dropping it!)
The scent of the shampoo is really lovely - a soft and floral scent with hints of lavender which is not too overpowering. The product states that it is sulphate free and contains lavender, wisteria, jasmine and violet.
One of the things I really like about this shampoo is that it lathers really easily and you only need to use a small amount. This is important to me to help me feel that I am getting my hair really clean and I don't have to worry about giving it a second shampoo
With regards to how well the product gives volume I would say that it definitely makes my hair feel like it has a bit more body to it and makes it slightly thicker. It does not produce miracle results (which is shame but then I have never found anything that does) but it does leave my hair feeling soft and manageable and very clean and easy to style. i use it along with the Your Highness conditioner and root boost gel which I will review separately and together I think they work well and compliment each other.
The price of the shampoo is between £7 - £10 (depending on where you purchase it) and it can be bought online from a number of retailers including Look Fantastic and Amazon. A bottle tends to last me at least 6 months as you only need to use a small amount so I think it is good value.
In summary I would say that this is a good shampoo which feels luxurious and works well as an every day shampoo, but sadly it does not perform miracles

The product I am reviewing is by Tigi and is part of the Your Highness Volume Collection. The shampoo claims to cleanse our hair to help create beautiful volume. The shampoo is sulphate free and is infused with Lavender, Wisteria, Jasmine and Violet for a fresh, lightweight finish. The shampoo comes in a tall bottle which is a dark purple colour with some black at the bottom of the bottle. The lid to the bottle is black as well which goes very well with the dark purple. The bottle has a smooth finish to it and on the front it states that the product is part of the Catwalk collection by Tigi. It also states that the product is from the volume collection and is an elevating shampoo to create body and movement in your hair. The bottle has a smooth finish to it gives the bottle a slight shine. On the back of the bottle is some information about the shampoo and how to prep your hair ready to use the product. There is also a Tigi top on the back of the bottle and you can also find a list of ingredients on the back. It states that this product is only sold in professional salons.
The packaging definitely stands out from other brands and looks as though it should be sold in a salon and due to the packaging I think it also looks quite pricey as well. It's not the type of shampoo I would expect to see in Boots and if I did this would stand out against other shampoos. I have very flat hair and always long for volume in it and after doing some research on the Internet this product came up for one of the best volumising shampoos which is why I decided to give it a go. Although I have very flat hair I was hoping that this shampoo would give my hair some volume and bounce when used with the conditioner and other products in this range. As this is a salon brand is also rather pricey I did have high hopes of this product and was expecting it to work rather well. I have coloured hair and I was hoping that the shampoo would also enhance the colour in my hair and make it appear to look slightly brighter as well, although this specific shampoo doesn't claim to do this.

You can purchase this from various different salons and from various places on the internet. I purchased the shampoo from www.gorgeousshop.co.uk. For a bottle of the shampoo (300ml) it is approximately £8.96 which I don't think was too bad. I actually purchase a pack which included the shampoo and conditioner for £17.82. This would normally cost £25.45 so I thought this was reasonable. You will probably find that it's cheaper to purchase the product online rather than from a salon. You can also purchase this range from www.feelunique.com.
Other Products in the Volume Collection Range:
* Your Highness Conditioner
* Thickening Gel Crème
* Root Boost Spray
* Firm Hold Hairspray
* Weightless Shine Spray

Tigi's tip when using this product is to work through the hair whilst massaging the scalp and then rinse well. I wanted to ensure I got as much volume in my hair as possible so I was going to follow their tip. I stood under the shower and ensured that all my hair was wet before applying the shampoo. The black lid to the shampoo unscrews to reveal a hole in which the shampoo dispenses. Due to the bottle having a smooth finish this can get a little slippery when trying to handle with wet hands. I smelt the shampoo in the bottle before dispensing any and it smelt very fresh. There was a very slight, fresh floral smell to the shampoo but I couldn't quite pick out a certain scent. I squeezed a reasonable sized amount into the palm of my hand. My hair is just above my shoulders and I find that a little shampoo the size of a 2p is more than enough to work my hair into a lather and to give it a good wash. The shampoo came out easily with a gentle squeeze of the bottle. The shampoo itself wasn't too thick but at the same time wasn't too runny. The colour of the shampoo was like blonde metallic colour. I started to rub this into my hair and as I did so the shampoo created a nice lather. I could smell the scent of the shampoo which was a lovely clean, fresh scent; I couldn't really determine a specific scent such as Lavender or Jasmine. After ensuring that my hair had, had a good shampoo I then rinsed it off. Due to the lather it felt as though my hair was being given a really good wash. The lather rinses off easily to reveal lovely, clean hair. Please note in this case I have not applied any conditioner so I can actually record the results of the shampoo alone. I will be reviewing the conditioner shortly after this one.
After wrapping my hair in a towel for a while to soak up any excess moisture I used a wide toothed comb to comb my hair through before drying it. I found that the comb glided easily through my wet hair. There were only a few small tangles in my hair which is what I sometimes get after washing it. I tipped my head upside down so I could blow dry my hair this way to also help to add some volume to my hair. As I dried my hair I could smell the scent of the shampoo slightly which was nice as it gave a lovely fresh and clean feeling to my hair. After drying it I tipped my head back up and ran a brush through it to tidy it up a little. My hair looked really clean and smelt clean and there was a little volume to my hair, how-ever not as much as I had hoped for. This may be because I only used the shampoo and not the conditioner with it as suggested. I styled my hair as normal and I when looking at the results I do think that I had a little more volume than usual in my hair. Due to this slight volume from the shampoo I was expecting even more volume when using the shampoo and conditioner together. My hair felt really light and not weighted down. I normally wash my hair every 2-3 days and even with this shampoo I was able to leave my hair at least 2 days before I had to wash it again. The scent of the product stayed in my hair for at least a day before it disappeared and then I could no longer smell it.

I did have high hopes of this product due to be being made by Tigi which is a salon brand. I did expect the shampoo to be around the price I paid for it due to it being a salon brand and one that you can only purchase in hair salons. I love the packaging for the item and I quite happily have this on show in my bathroom as I think the packaging is unique but also makes the product look good quality and pricey. The consistency of the shampoo is perfect as it's easy to dispense from the bottle and rub into your hair to create a lovely rich lather. You don't really need to use any more than a 2p size amount as I find that this amount creates more than enough lather for my hair which is just above my shoulders. I like that the shampoo is really easy to wash out and leaves my hair feeling clean and fresh. The shampoo definitely gave my hair some extra volume, and I think if I had used the conditioner with this shampoo the results would be better. My hair stayed feeling clean and fresh for at least 2-3 days before I had to wash it again. Although the shampoo is more expensive than brands that you purchase in stores such as Boots you do only need to use a little of the product to get good results. I'm really glad I purchased this product and tried it as it's the best shampoo to give my fine, flat hair a boost of volume but also leaves my hair looking clean and smelling fresh. I would definitely recommend this product to others who need a boost of volume. I would also recommend you purchasing the conditioner to go with this. I have reviewed the shampoo only for this review but as previously mentioned will be reviewing the conditioner shortly.
(review also on ciao)
I am actually a bit gutted with this shampoo because i normally love Tigi hair products, i've been a fan for a long time and i've bought several of their products which hasn't been cheap! They usually give me impressive results, but sadly this one didn't work for me.
Tigi Catwalk is a reasonably new Tigi range, it's certainly one of their latest and the 'Your Highness' products available are this shampoo, the conditioner and a root boost spray. They are very glamorous looking products in sleek and sexy looking midnight blue bottles. I love the 'Catwalk' name too, it gives the impression that the products are even good enough for models to wear.
You use the shampoo in just the same way that you would use any other shampoo in the bath or shower and it apparently helps to use the 'Your Highness' conditioner too, but as i say i've only tried the shampoo so far which is perhaps why i haven't had the best results with it.
My hair has always been quite fine, thin and flat looking so i really wanted this shampoo to do what it says on the bottle and 'elevate' my hair giving it some thickness and volume. But my hair looked the same as it always does after using any other shampoo, so it didn't give me the volume i desired. It did however leave my hair feeling really soft with a nice "hairdresser" smell to it though, it's just a shame it didn't give my hair more bounce.
I can imagine that the Tigi Catwalk Your Higness Root Boost Spray might be the better product to buy for adding volume to my hair, but i'm not sure yet whether i'm going to bother because they are expensive products and i've been put off this particular line of Tigi products a little bit because of the lack of results from the shampoo. If i do ever try it though, i'll be sure to review it.
One of the cheapest places for buying the Tigi products is feelunique.com and they actually sell the 'Your Highness' set which includes the shampoo, conditioner & the root boost spray for £20.99. I wish i'd saw this set before i bought just the shampoo separately. The 300ml bottle of the shampoo cost me £8.
A while ago I became quite obsessed with adding volume to my hair. My hair is rather thick and can be quite 'poofy' at times, but once styled it always seems to lie flat to my head. I was looking for something to add a bit of volume to the roots and when I came across a new range of TIGI Catwalk shampoos, this particular one stood out to me with its promises of creating body and movement.
Described as being a 'decadent sulfate-free formula, infused with lavender, wisteria, jasmine and violet' this product promises to properly cleanse the hair to allow flexibility and volume. It is available in two sizes as far as I know, the 300ml which is pictured and the 750ml size which I have (I actually bought this as a duo with the conditioner).
The smaller of the two bottles is black and purple, whilst the larger bottle I have is predominantly black. One of the advantages of the bigger 750ml size is that it also comes with a pump dispenser. I find this means I dispense only the required amount of product and there is less wastage, meaning the product lasts much longer. On the downside the pumps can become clogged up with the shampoo solidifying in the nozzle, so on the odd occasion you will dispense the shampoo along with a horrible lump of hardened product to go with it.
The shampoo itself is a creamy colour (almost a little yellowy) and has a pearly sheen to it. The product has a nice floral fragrance to it and is quite gentle. I have used TIGI hair care products in the past that have had really strong fragrances, and I worried that the combination of florals this contains may make it overpowering, so I was glad when this wasn't the case. The smell is actually barely there, I can smell a hint of lavender in it, but it's also quite sweet smelling at the same time. It's a nice enough fragrance but not one I ever really notice unless I put my nose right up to this.
I find that even a small amount of this shampoo will create a good lather, even on my long hair. I tend to put a lot of product in my hair - serum, hairspray, softening creams, all sorts of nonsense really - and in the past have often felt I needed to shampoo my hair twice in order to leave it feeling clean. With this particular shampoo however, I have never felt the need to wash my hair twice which would indicate that it's a good one for getting rid of product build up.
I must admit when I first started using this product several months ago, although I was hopeful, I don't really think I believed that a shampoo could really add volume to my hair. I have been proven wrong though, as since beginning to use this, there has been a noticeable lift to the roots of my hair and more body in general. I actually switched to another brand for a while (I'll get to that later in the review) and when I started using this one again, I could see with just one wash that there was a much needed oomph to my hair.
I don't find that the scent of this shampoo lingers on my hair at all, but with such a gentle scent I wouldn't expect this. I do feel it leaves my hair looking and feeling clean, but I have noticed that my hair is a little dull and lacklustre with this product which is a bit of a shame really, although easily remedied with a quick blast of shine spray. My hair is quite frizzy usually and some shampoos seem to intensify the problem, but I actually don't find this one does, and my hair is usually quite easy to style after using this.
As mentioned earlier, I did stop using this product for a while. I think I had been using it for around two months when one night I washed my hair and noticed that the front of my scalp along my hairline was covered in huge, ugly flakes. I have a dry scalp anyway, as well as eczema on my scalp, but I'd never had any irritation from using this shampoo before, and like I say I'd been using it for two months, so you'd think if I was going to have a reaction I would have done so before then. I wondered if I had just not washed the product out properly, so tried washing my hair again but found the same thing. I switched to head and shoulders which cleared up the problem straight away, and it was only about six weeks later that I have felt brave enough to try this one again, and I've been back using it for around a week and have had no dryness or flakiness to my scalp since.
TIGI products are available from salons, but not usually shops. I can't remember how much I paid for this, but I do recommend searching around online as prices often vary quite significantly. The following prices are from www.feelunique.com which is a reliable website that I use frequently
300ml - £7.75
750ml - £12.10
On the whole I would probably recommend this shampoo if you are looking for a shampoo to give lift and body to your hair, although for those of you that have a dry or sensitive scalp I would tell you to avoid. I personally will not buy another bottle because of the slight reaction I seemed to have to it, but had this not happened I would be rating it higher.
TIGI Catwalk Your Highness Elevating Shampoo is perfect for body and movement. Properly cleansed and flexible hair is the fabric essential to create beautiful volume. This decadent formula infused with Lavender, Wisteria, Jasmine and Violet imparts a fresh, lightweight finish.
