“ Brand: Tigi Catwalk / Type: Hair care „
I've always been the sort of person who steers clear of hair serums of any kind due to the fact that no matter what brand I have tried, it has always made my hair look greasy and make it flat. After receiving this as a Christmas gift, I thought i'd give it a go because well, it'd be rude not to.
I can honestly say, I'm so glad I did - it helps my hair so much and doesn't make it greasy or flat in the slightest. It gives it a healthy sheen and tames my dry ends which is great since I'm trying to restore the health and ensure the growth of my hair.
You can use this both on wet or dry hair - I use this on my hair just after I've towel dried it since no matter how conditioned my hair is, it is a nightmare to untangle on it's own. All I need to use is a small peanut sized amount rubbed into both hands and gently and evenly spread through mid length to the ends of my hair. This makes it so much easier to get out any knots and tangles and dramatically reduces breakages in my hair as it helps me be more gentle with it.
It also helps with blow drying my hair as it tames the frizzy and fluffy parts of my hair that usually cause me hassle when it comes to straightening it. I haven't often needed to use it on dry hair but it also works when my ends are so dry and I'm having a bad hair day, it gives my hair some life and leaves it feeling silky for hours. Whilst this doesn't actually repair hair - nor does it claim to do so, it certainly does help aid the process of looking after your hair more and reduces the necessity to use force and even brush your hair that often.
The serum itself is clear yet the bottle is a beautiful vivid blue with a fancy filigree type design on the front. The bottle contains 100ml and lasts a very, very long time as you only need a small amount even on much longer hair than my own (Mine is shoulder length). The cap is a flip top that stays attached to the bottle and clips back on afterwards, though be warned if you do not ensure that the lid is on correctly you will end up with a bit of a disaster if it falls on its side, this happened to me and was a nightmare moving my products and cleaning the surrounding bottles and the shelf it was stood on!
you can find this product online or in sallys hair and beauty wholesalers and wherever they sell tigi products. If you know of somewhere that sells the bedhead range, they'll more than likely sell the rockaholic range too. The product varies around £6 per bottle which is fantastic considering how good it is and how long it lasts.
Hair products are something that you can't scrimp on. If you buy cheap products you have to use a lot to get the effect needed whether it be shine or hold. At £10 approx this seems a lot at first for such a small bottle but it is so concentrated that you only need a few drops each time.
As you'll know from my other reviews Tigi is one of my favourite hair care brands. I'm particularly drawn to their bright branding and the attitude and style that comes with each product. The Rockaholic Shine Blaster is no different and is a particularly lovely shade of blue. On first inspection bottle feels like it could withstand a few trips in my handbag which is a must for finishing products like this however the plastic hinge on the lid feels like it may weaken with use.
Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Persea Gratissima (Avacado) Oil, Phenyl Trimethicone, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Dimethiconol, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Aloe Barbadenus Leaf Extract, Cirtus Grandis (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Calendula Officinalus Flower Extract, Vanilla PLanifolia Fruit Extract, Jasminium Officinale (Jasmine) Flower Extract, Parfum (Fragrance), Benzyl Benzoate
There's a few lovely sounding things above that really do 'treat' the hair rather than just providing a cover up solution. Aloe, Jojoba, Avacado oil e.t.c
Personally I like to use 2/3 drops (I have mid length but thick hair) when my hair is mid blow dry. I rub my hands together to heat the oil up then run my fingers through my lengths and ends. If you're unsure how much to use always start with a little and work up. You can always add a small amount to finish your style off if you prefer more shine but if you add too much it will look greasy and need washing out.
I find that this product seals my cuticle and eases frizz as well as making my hair feel much silkier. Fly aways are less of a problem and my hair shines like it never has before.
As I mentioned in my previous review I recently decided to treat myself to some new hair products as Id been neglecting the locks a little bit recently. TIGI is always my first port of call when it comes to anything hair related because their products have been proven to work on my hair time and time again - in fact I dont think Ive ever been let down by one of their products in the past. Anyway with that in mind I treated myself to a Rockaholic gift set a few months back to try out some new products and hopefully give my hair a little boost. One of the products in this set was this 'TIGI Rockaholic Rock Out Shine Blaster' which I had been dying to try for quite some time because I had heard some amazing things about it - it definitely lived up to my expectations and more. Yes its another glowing review for a TIGI product - sorry hehe!!
Price: Around £7 - 100ml bottle. Prices on this range vary greatly though so shop around!!
Stockists: Amazon, CheapSmells, the TIGI site & most hair salons also stock this brand.
Other Info: This product is used to - add shine to your hair & make it much more managable & easier to style. It seals your hairs cuticles to make sure the shine lasts, reduces drying time & prevents future heat damage. This also promises to help mask split ends (although thats only temporary!!) - thats the main reason I bought it to be honest - anything that can make my hair look like it has no split ends is a wonder for me!!
*As far as I can tell this can be used on any hair type/length/colour. Although because it helps add shine & hides split ends people with damaged or dull hair will probably benefit most from using this. But no worries anyone can give this a go - men as well!!*

The packaging is always the first thing that attracts me to products from this brand and this one was no exception - the Rockaholic range is slightly different because its less girly and more edgy than others, but that is by no means a bad thing. In fact it makes this one in particular appeal to both sexes - its a bit more masculine so even the manliest man could have this in their bathroom without shame LOL. This comes in a 100ml plastic bottle that is blue in colour - through which you can clearly see the product so you can always see exactly how much of the serum you have left, always a bonus in my opinion. On the front and back of the bottle is all the information on the product - a small ingredient list, directions for use, shelf life etc - there is also an address and email address you can write to should you have any other questions on the product. At the top of the bottle is a flip off lid which reveals a small nozzle underneath where the product comes out of - thats where my one very small issue with this product comes in. The lid isnt as secure as I would like, it flips open quite a lot. Its not a major problem for me because I dont use this on the go but if your buying this for travelling with it will be a massive issue as its very likely to leak! Other than that though the packaging is effective enough and its eye catching!

Normally I would add an ingredients list at this point in the review but try as I might I cannot find a full list ANYWHERE on the WWW.! I would say if you have an allergy to any product that is normally used in hair products to contact the brands customer service department and ask for the list. That saves any disappointment when using this product.
Using this is very simple (even though the TIGI insructions make it sound very difficult LOL) once you have washed your hair as normal get a few drops of this serum onto your hands and then work through your hair - I find a VERY small amount on the roots is enough and then apply more to the areas with the worst split ends - although that will vary from person to person. Using too much of this on your roots though will makes your hair look very greasy and not shiny - not the look your going for really so less is certainly more. Literally 2 drops of this on my hands is more than enough for maximum results on my hair (and I have very long hair) so one bottle will last a really long time - regardless of hair length. Even though this is quite a watery serum it still feels very silky and smooth from the second you apply it to your hair - the consistency is a little hard to get the hang of but once you do a few drops go a very long way and give the best results. And it will make the bottle last years so it helps justify the price!!

Now the smell is always worth mentioning in the case of TIGI products but the scent of this one is something I couldnt wait to write about. Simply because it is GORGEOUS! and definitely my favourite of any haircare product Ive ever used. When I bought this I had no idea what to expect scent wise but I was very pleasantly surprised. It is the girliest toffee apple, candy floss scent Ive ever smelt - which is right up my alley. Its sweet and girly without being too overpowering and best of all it stays in my hair for many days after Ive applied it - better than smelling like stake fag ash anyway. The smell isnt unisex by any means though so smell wise its not a man friendly product but for girls who love sweet yet fresh scents this will be your dream come true - but its subtle enough for even those who arent into sweet/sickly scents. The best from the range so far!!
For me this product does literally everything it claims. Normally my hair takes around 30 mins to dry fully (even when using a hairdryer) but when Ive applied this the time is at least halved and somehow my hair looks better at the end of it. I find when using a hairdryer it takes a lot of the natural shine and bounce out of my hair - and makes the split ends stand out more but when using this serum the exact opposite is true. My hair is much shinier which in turn makes it look healthier and it makes it look much smoother as well - it really is like having your hair done professionally when using this. But best of all for me it actually does help hide the appearance of split ends. Its been quite a while since my last hair cut so my split ends are starting to show up quite badly but when using this they look more smoother out and are easier to straighten so it really does temporarily hide the problem - obviously there are no long term effects but who's looking to the long term?! Simply this is a brilliant product one that I will now use every time I wash my hair and will continue to buy and use for as long as TIGI make it. My only issue is the dodgy lid but thats not enough for me to knock a star off - its still a 5* product for me - one that I highly recommend to others as well.
