I like the TIGI products as they are usually of a good quality and always smell delicious. I have my favourites my I always like to try new ones and the S-Factor Diamond Dreams Shampoo by TIGI.
What does the product do?
The product is a shampoo so it promises to cleanse the hair leaving it fresh and free from impurities, grease and hair products. It claims that it will leave your hair shining with health using the inclusion of champagne, cashmere and pearls in the mixture. It promises to hydrate the hair and to protect it from damaging free radicals. The shampoo claims that it will leave your hair with a multi dimensional shimmer which gives a richness and depth to your hair while also protecting and conditioning it.
Packaging and Price
The shampoo comes contained within a plastic bottle which has a big s on the front and some extra information on the back of the bottle. It has a flip top lid and which it can stand, and it is easy to open and close. The shampoo will cost you around £9 for 250ml of the product and it can be bought from most good hair salons and also from a range of online websites.
Application and Performance
The shampoo smells completely delicious. The fragrance is that of blackberry lychee and it is so gorgeously fruity that it almost smells good enough to eat. The shampoo has a slightly thicker consistency than what you would normally expect from a shampoo but it is still easy to work with. I use slightly more of this during each application that I normally would due to the consistency. The shampoo smells strongly as you massage it into your hair and it is a real treat to use. It doesn't lather as much as other shampoos that I've used as it is free from the chemical foaming ingredients but it still feels like it is doing a good job. It doesn't irritate my scalp or cause me to experience any discomforts. It is easy to rinse the product out of the hair.
My hair is easy to brush through after use and once my hair is dry then it is still tangle free. It does make my hair quite silky and soft, and it leaves my hair fresh and clean. Even if I have used a lot of hair product during the day, it seemed to get it all out. It does add a bit of shine to my hair but not as much as I was hoping for or expecting. One positive is the delicious smell that lingers in my hair long after I have dried and styled my hair to the point where people have commented on it. I can't comment on whether it has protected my hair from free radicals but it seems to be in a good condition.
All in all, this is a good shampoo which cleanses the hair and leaves it fresh and free from tangles. It gives the hair a bit of a shine and a burst of moisture. It doesn't really stand out too much from the supermarket shampoos so I'm not sure if it's worth the hefty price tag but the delicious aroma may just convince me that this one is worth buying again.
I was given a s-factor diamond dreams shampoo and conditioner set for Christmas last year. I regularly use shampoos and conditioners by TIGI but had never used this particular set, although it came highly recommended to me. The shampoo and conditioners came in large rounded square bottles (that's the best that I can describe the shape - they are quite irregular!), that stand on their base, which is where the product is squeezed from. My set looks similar to the above although the front is covered with a large pink 'S'.
I have 250ml bottles that retail at around £10 each. The shampoo and conditioner are also available in salon sized 750ml bottles which are around £15-£20 (so, if you like the shampoo it is definitely worth opting for the larger size price-wise).
The shampoo is 'infused with Diamonds, Champagne, Cashmere and Pearls' so rather luxurious sounding! These are ingredients that I was really suprised to see in a shampoo and remain confused as to what their benefits are to your hair or in what quantities they are 'infused' (I should imagine very, very low!). However, a girl like to feel pampered and, with that ingredients list, this surely achieves that. The shampoo is quite thick and creamy with a fresh, pleasant smell (although I find it hard to describe or pick out any defining scent). It is quite hard to work this in to a lather and I find that I need to add quite a lot of water to my hair and a fair amount of shampoo to achieve a decent clean. Whilst lathering, there is a lovely smell and this is retained on your hair after rinsing and for a good day or so after washing. It rinses well from your hair and leaves it feeling clean and soft (I use in conjunction with the conditioner so this probably helps towards the softness).
I think you do get quite a lot of washes from the bottle (I have long, thick hair so if you have shorter/thinner hair, you'll probably get even more) so I would definitely buy this again. I really love the unique scent and how cared for this leaves my hair looking and feeling. I'm not impressed by the extravagant list of ingredients and this does not play any part in how I feel about the shampoo, regardless of the ingredients this is a lovely shampoo and one that I would definitely recommend.
