Advantages: Invigorating clean feeling
Disadvantages: Seriously hurts your eyes, May leave hair tangled
This light, invigorating 2 in 1 shampoo contains extracts of cucumber for its "cool-cleansing properties" and aloe vera for its "soothing power." The shampoo is colourless and has that kind of fragrance that most perfume-free products carry; it smells rather pleasant although my partner's youngest brother describes it as "foul." The product is packaged in a green, slim bottle. The cap is rounded, so you can't balance it upside down to drain out the last tired remnants but the shampoo is sufficiently runny so this isn't a problem. The ingredients list aqua (water) as the main component just like every other shampoo but we've all known for years that shampoo is just expensive watered-down soap. As a little bonus, there's a free 0800 number to call if you have any queries. However, if you need assistance in using shampoo then you may not be ready for this level of personal hygiene. On application, the shampoo works up into a satisfying lather although, after a few moments, it begins to create a tingling sensation on your scalp rather reminiscent of a peppermint anti-dandruff shampoo or possibly acid. Still, it certainly makes your hair and scalp feel remarkably clean - to the extent that you feel as if, up till now, you haven't washed your hair for at least a week. As a note of caution, don't let any shampoo get into your eyes - or, in fact, on your face. I've never known a shampoo to be so painful and lingering on my eyes as this one. After lathering and rinsing, my hair is clean and soft albeit rather tangled. Not a big problem but slightly disappointing as this is a 2 in 1 combined product. The container even states brashly "follow with Timotei conditioner" - rather defeating the purpose of a 2 in 1 product. As with most shampoos, this product will keep your hair happy for around 2 days before you need to wash it again. Overall, this is a pleasant if unexcitin
g product, which keeps my hair clean - about all I look for in a shampoo these days - and the price is reasonable at 45 pence per 100 ml. [Bonus Tip: Any students doing a school project on Elida Faberge (supplier of Timotei) can write to their freepost address (on the shampoo container) for stacks of company information, including their "green" activities.]

- 24/08/01 I take way too long in the shower as it is - my hair reaches all the way down my back - so I'm too lazy to use a seperate shampoo and conditioner. - Fi |
