Sorry about the title....I just couldn't resist!

When I'm not using my usual dandruff shampoo I like to try out different brands and hair care products. My choice, to be perfectly honest, is usually based on what is on offer. People who know me are aware that I am a sucker for a bargain and am always scouring the shelves for buy one get one free offers and reduced items. This is how I came across Timotei 2 in 1 shampoo with extracts of cucumber and Aloe Vera (or 'Ey up Vera as my dad calls it!). I probably wouldn't have tried it if it hadn't have been 99p a bottle, but I'm very glad that I did.

~~~~THE SHAMPOO.
It is a frequent use shampoo that is suitable for all hair types. The manufacturer is Elida Faberge, the famous company responsible for household names such as Dove and Persil.
~~~~THE BOTTLE.

I bought the 250ml bottle with an easy to open, non-drip cap. The bottle and cap are a pleasant green colour and the bottle is the right size to grip easily in your hand (very useful for me because I have a tendency for dropping things in the shower).

The non-drip cap is also very handy for me because I am quite messy. The only criticism I have is that the shampoo itself isn't very thick and is quite liquidy in texture. This means that if I put too much in my hand it consequently has a habit of spilling out in the bath. This is only a minor quibble though and doesn't constitute a major flaw!

~~~~INGREDIENTS.
The shampoo contains the following ingredients:
AQUA, SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE, COCAMIDOPROPYL, BETAINE, SODIUM CHLORIDE,
DIMETHICONOL, GUAR HYDROXYPROPYLTRIMONIUM (BLOODY HELL!!) CHLORIDE,
DIMETHICONOL/ SILSEQUIXANE COPOLYMER, TEA DOCECYLBEZENESULFONATE, SODIUM
CITRATE, CITRIC ACID, SODIUM BENZOATE, PPG 9, LAURETH 23, ALOE
BARBADENSIS, PANTHENOL, PARFUM, BENZOPHENONE 4, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, CUCUMIS SATIVUS, PHOSPHORIC ACID.
r>WOW! That was a nightmare for my spellchecker and my brain hurts now! I have no idea what any of that stuff does, but whatever it does, it seems to do its job well. The shampoo is clear and lathers really easily; a little goes a long way, making this product extremely good value for money. It also has a lovely fresh smell making it a pleasure to wash your hair in the morning; it really wakes you up!
~~~~WHAT DO I THINK OF IT?

As with all shampoos the instructions for use are simple; massage into wet hair, rinse thoroughly and repeat if necessary. It only has a mild conditioner so at this stage you can use an extra conditioning product if required. I find that I don't need to do this, but anyone with very dry hair may wish to do so. The bottle also mentions the usual warnings about rinsing the product out of your eyes with warm water if you get any in them. The shampoo seems quite mild, but I wouldn't risk it with all those unidentifiable ingredients it contains!

It's also true that it is suitable for different hair types. I have coloured, treated hair that is quite fine and I am very happy with the results I get. My husband's hair is thick and dark and he is also pleased with the product. My mum also uses it on her permed hair and hasn't seen any ill affects either. So, all in all we have tested it out pretty well on a cross section of hair types.

The best thing about this shampoo is the lovely cooling sensation you get when massaging it into your scalp. My husband was the first one to try out this product and shouted to me to say that the shampoo felt strange and tingly on his head. He said that I must try and see if I felt the same. I tried it and agreed that although it was an odd sensation it was certainly a pleasant one. The best way I can describe it is as invigorating, fresh and tingly. The bottle doesn't lie when it says that with Timotei 2 in 1 shampoo you will experience "extreme freshne
ss" and that it is both refreshing and revitalising.

There's not much more I can say about it than that it works, it smells nice and it leaves your hair feeling clean and fresh. Oh, and it only costs 99p! What more can you ask in a shampoo than that? Good value and a good product. Give it a go and experience that tingling feeling too! Be careful with Vera though....she can be a bit of a devil!!

I don't much like 2-in-1 shampoos and I'm really fussy about what I put on my hair, but I did try this once on holiday and it wasn't bad. I wouldn't use it regularly though as I felt my hair became a tad too dry.
