I am not a big fan of 2 in 1 shampoos as usually they are nowhere near conditioning enough for my hair and I usually come out of the shower with hair that is knotted and painful to comb out. Timotei Pure is one of the exceptions when it comes to 2 in 1 shampoos and conditioners as it actually cleans my hair but it also moisturises it too.
It will never be able to beat a good shampoo and a nice conditioner but as an alternative it is pretty good and I don't mind taking this to the gym with me or using after swimming when I don't have time to sit with conditioner on my hair for 2 minutes.
This comes out like a runny gel which has a lovely light fragrance and it lathers up nicely and I can give my hair a really good scrub with it.
I mainly use this at the gym when I have been sweating which makes my scalp itch and this is nice and gentle and soothes my scalp straight away.
It washes off easily and doesn't leave any residue in my hair. I usually just tie my hair back after the gym and let it dry naturally and when it is dry my hair feels soft and well conditioned. It is a little bit flyaway but I think that is just because this 2 in 1 is so lightweight. I like the fact that my hair doesn't feel heavy but it does look shiny and when I brush it my hair is manageable.
As I said given the time I would much rather use a separate shampoo and conditioner and then take my time and style my hair but this isn't always practical and I think this 2 in 1 makes a good alternative when I am in a rush.
I also like that this is a natural shampoo and doesn't contain any nasties such as parabens and silicones. It is also really reasonably priced and a 400ml bottle costs me £2.99. The bottle is a little bit big for my gym bag but I just decant it to a travel sized bottle and keep it in my wash bag.
For a 2 in 1 this is one of the best that I have tried.
I have a quick shower every morning, but as I'm usually rushing for work or trying to keep my toddler out of trouble, time is of the essence, and I like to keep it to around a minute (saves water too!) for that reason I tend to use 2 in 1 shampoos often, and don't have a huge amount of brand loyalty, though I do tend to go for the same shampoos if I see them at the right price.
Case in point: Timotei 2 in 1 Pure Shampoo. I pretty much always buy my shampoo in Poundland or in the supermarket when it's on offer, and this Timotei 2 in 1 Pure Shampoo is often in there. This is for a 250ml bottle, which has an RRP of £1.99 so over time it's quite a saving.
Timotei 2 in 1 Pure Shampoo is presented in an off white bottle with a cream lid and the Timotei logo to the front, much different from the green teardrop shaped Timotei bottles I remember as a child! There is a leaf on the front - this is due to the claim that it contains 'Infused with 100% natural organic green tea leaf extract'. It's 'Pure' due to the fact it has ' 0% silicones, parabens and colourants' (ie, it's natural care for your hair).
All I know is that Timotei 2 in 1 Pure Shampoo builds up a good lather from a fairly small amount of shampoo in the palm of your hand - a lovely white creamy lather which is easy to wash long hair in. It has a light scent, mainly just soapy to my nose, which I don't mind as I don't want overly perfumed hair! It rinses off well leaving lovely squeaky clean hair, which is indeed both shampoo clean and conditioner soft and tangle free.
When dried (I generally give it a quick blast with the hairdryer) my hair is soft and shiny and my scalp nice and soft (harsher shampoos give me a dry scalp which can result in flaking) and I put that down to the natural elements in Timotei 2 in 1 Pure Shampoo. It's one of the best 2 in 1 shampoos I've used, and whenever I do see it on offer I get 2 bottles as I get through it quite quickly. It's also great for the gym or for travel because obvously you're only carrying one bottle. I'm not saying it's not worth the RRP - it's a great shampoo - but when you can get it on offer so easily then why not make the saving?
Overall I highly recommend Timotei 2 in 1 Pure Shampoo, it's a great 2 in 1 and well worth buying. Five stars out of five, my hair is happy!
When it comes to shampoo and the likes I'm not really brand loyal. I didn't buy this one anyway my mate did and left it in my bathroom so I have been using it and I was with her when she bought this one in my local Asda store for a pound on offer opposed to it usually costing about £2.99 a bottle.
This comes in a white plastic oblong shaped bottle which is tall and it has a goldy coloured plastic flip top lid to the top of it. On the front of the bottle we are told that it is 'New' Timotei Pure 2 In 1 'Normal To Greasy Hair' Shampoo and that it is 'Infused With Organic Green Tea Leaf' and that it contains no Silicone, Parabens Or Colourants and that it contains only 100% Natural Extracts. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told a bit about the product and how to use it, the weight is stated which is 250ml, ingredients are given and contact details for the manufacturer are clearly stated too. Its a nice looking, high quality and unisex bottle this and its informative enough too.
The Shampoo Itself:
This 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner is a thin runny and clear gel like product with a really gentle and natural fragrance of green tea to it. This isn't a harsh or overpowering fragrance but really gentle, subtle and clean.
A small amount of this lathers up very well indeed and you can rinse, repeat and have a final rinse if required.
This rinses out of the hair well and leaves my hair gently and freshly fragranced. It leaves my hair feeling clean enough though not impeccably so or anything and as a 2 in 1, which I don't usually like it functions well enough! Usually with a 2 in 1 I find myself missing conditioner and my hair is left feeling dry and knotty and straggly ended but I have to be fair to this one although my hair is only left slightly moisturised it is that none the less!
My hair looks clean, has a slight natural sheen to it and it really doesn't upset my sensitive scalp at all and it doesn't leave my hair fake smelling or overloaded with products and for that reason I really do like it rather alot!
Available in all good supermarkets and chemists.
