Advantages: Good price, works well, keeps my hair feeling soft

Disadvantages: None for me

When it comes to birthdays and Christmas our family have always bought one another lots of 'stocking fillers' so that the recipient has lots of things to open - we're daft like that!

The sorts of things we do buy are shampoo, conditioner, shower gel etc. That way there are lots of presents to open but they are all useful and in my case by the time I have had my birthday on 29th November and then Christmas I am usually stocked up for the year ahead!

Last year I had quite a few sets of matching shampoos and conditioners but also one or two odd ones too and one of these is the one I am about to review.

The name of this particular one is Timotei Henna Copper Radiance Conditioner and it was bought for me because I have auburn hair. I grant you there's a fair bit of grey in it these days but - hey - it just looks like highlights from a distance!

Since this was a gift I have no idea how much was paid for it but I gather that it currently costs about £2.

Anyway the other day I found that I still had some of a Lush shampoo bar left that I have had for ages and decided to use it again so I needed some conditioner to go with it - enter Timotei.

So, in the shower I went and washed my hair with the shampoo bar. I then massaged the conditioner into my hair and left it to do its work whilst I had my shower rinsing it off as I finished my ablutions. It rinsed out of my hair thoroughly.

The conditioner itself is nice and thick and is pearlescent white. It massages well into my hair feeling really nice even at that stage of the proceedings. It smells lovely although I have no idea what the fragrance is I'm afraid. It could be henna I suppose although I don't know what henna smells like!

I then blow dried my hair as usual and as it dried it felt so soft but it was still manageable. I have found that some of these products make my hair soft but so flyaway I can't do a thing with it!

When I had finished drying my hair it was shiny, it smelled lovely and it was really soft and nice to the touch.

It gets better though. I usually find that the initial softness created by washing my hair wears off after 24 hours and although my hair is still clean that real softness has gone. With Timotei it is different that softness lasts for two or three days for me.

The conditioner that I have is in a dark golden brown container (although I think the more recent incarnation is in a bottle of a lighter colour) which stands with the opening end on the shelf. I always like these sort of containers as it is so much easier to get all of the contents out because gravity makes sure the conditioner is at the end where the opening is.

Looking at the picture at the top of this category - the conditioner I have is the one second from the left!

According to the bottle this one is especially for people with 'natural or coloured mid brown to dark brown hair', which is pretty obvious as it is a henna based product and whilst I can't honestly say that I have seen any real difference in the colour of my hair the condition when I use this is exceptional.

To be honest this is an excellent conditioner for what appears to be a good price. I shall certainly try the matching shampoo and conditioner and some point as I have no reason to suppose that I would be anything other than delighted!

Summary: A great conditioner

I too used to use the shampoo many years ao so its good to see its still around; sounds like they have improved upon their conditioner as the original version never really worked well with me.
