Advantages: Great smell, price

Disadvantages: it is tested on animals

Energising Orange? It sounds like it should be a flavour of a trendy sports drink right? Well you would be wrong. It is in fact part of Timotei?s range of shampoos. I bought this yesterday as I had run out of shampoo. I tend to by Clariol's Herbal Essences then a different shampoo. I tend to either buy either shampoo for oily hair or fine hair as my hair is shoulder length, blond very fine and gets greasy quite easily.

Timotei was launched in 1983 word Timotei originates from the Swedish name for Timothy Grass - a grass variant that grows in meadows.

The bottle
The bottle is a big one. 400 ml the bottle is a rounded off triangle with an orange top. There are very appetising oranges on the front. The text is both in French and English and it proclaims it is energising orange and the orange is full of natural extracts. It is for fine and lifeless hair. The blurb on the back proclaims

The active power of nature brings you 100% natural beauty.
and
For the first time Timotei has captured a highly concentrated active orange extract. It combines these energising and refreshing properties into a gentle yet highly effective shampoo

Why do shampoos have to energise, moisturise, add nutrients etc. Why can?t they just clean your hair !!

On further inspection of the bottle I learn it is made by Lever Faberge and does not say anything about animal testing. Maybe I should not have bought it as maybe bunnies have had it in their eyes.
It also lists a number of ingredients with funny names. I'm not sure what any of them are.

The price
The price was one of the reasons I bought this product. It was £2.50 for 400 mls a bargain. I like to get nice shampoo but would not spend more than £2.50 on a bottle. I was considering being an absolute cheapskate and buying Tesco's own brand shampoo half a litre for 60p but that was a bit
too cheap!!

Where can it be purchased?
Any
chemist or supermarket

The Smell

The smell is very alluring. I get a nice whiff off oranges. So far so good

The Looks

It does even look like very thick orange juice as it is the same colour. The consistency is ok. Not too runny but no the almost jelly like consistency of Herbal essences.

The actual test.
After jumping into the shower I poured a decent amount into my hands and lathered it up. It lathers very well and soon I was having fun lathering it into my hair. It also rinses well leaving my hair smelling very yummy indeed.

After drying my hair my hair looks very shiny and quite softly although it did tangle a bit
10 hours later n my hair still smells of that nice orange fragrance

I might buy the shampoo again. It does smell wonderful and cleans my hair well however Unilever do test on animals so that's bad news
