Advantages: Cheap, easy to apply. Leaves hair looking clean and smelling fresh

Disadvantages: Doesn't particularly 'strengthen' hair.

I always tend to go for the cheaper brand and when I seen this conditioner half price in Morrisons, I decided it would be worth a try. The bottle is white, has a little picture of herbs on the front and comes in a 300ml sized bottle.

The fresh and strong shampoo says that it is for 'normal' types of hair and claims to 'strengthen' hair and provide freshness. It also says that it is scented with herbs. Although, I honestly can't state whether the conditioner does actually strengthen your hair, it definitely has a subtle fresh herb smell to it, including a soft lavender scent. It smells fresh and most importantly, clean. I would however, recommend using the same brand Timotei shampoo because the scent is quite distinctive and I don't think it would smell right if it was mixed with different scents.

The conditioner itself is very easy to dispense and apply. You simply apply a enerous sized amount through the middle and ends of the hair, massaging it in as you work it through. It spreads easily as it has a creamy consistency and it also washes out easily.

Once you have rinsed your hair, if does feel soft but you won't see the real effects until you have totally dried your hair. Once dry, hair will smell great, feel soft and look shiny and silky. However, as with most conditioners it only stays looking this fresh for the first day. The smell also seems to fade pretty quickly. I would also avoid putting conditioner on your roots as it will leave your hair looking greasy.

I would use this conditioner again but I don't find that it particularly made my hair any 'stronger'. Having said that, I only used it for about a month and a half (until the bottle ran out) so perhaps if you did use it for a longer period of time, you may start to see more effective results. It will leave your hair looking soft and smelling good, which is all I look for in a conditioner.

Summary: A good conditioner with a herb smell
