Advantages: leaves my hair soft and shiny
Disadvantages: scent does not linger on hair
As I have previously said in my reviews, I am not particularly loyal to one brand of shampoo, although I do always like to keep a trusty bottle of head and shoulders should my scalp start to get flaky. Anyway, like a lot of peope, I tend to stock up on shampoos when those buy one get one free offers appear on them in the likes of Tesco, and this Timotei shampoo is a prime example.
Although it is presently priced at just over £2.30 in Tesco, I got two bottles on offer a few months back at 2 for 1, and I am just getting around to using the first one. The one that I picked to start with was Timotei strength and shine with fresh herb and kiwi shampoo. This shampoo comes in a pale green bottle of 400ml, with a darker green lid, and a couple of small pictures of 'herbs' and 'kiwi' at the front of the bottle. The front of the shampoo bottle also states that this is for those with normal hair.
On the reverse of the product, it states that this is a mild shampoo. It also claims that it offers an 'invigorating fragrance of wild herb and kiwi......the revitalising blend of ingredients strengthens hair from root to tip, bringing out a gleaming shine'.
As you squeeze a small amount into the palm of your hand, you can instantly smell a fresh somewhart fruity smell which is very pleasant. The shampoo itself is green in colour, and I found that it lathered up very easily, and washed out without any problems.
A shine of a good shampoo to me, is one that after washing allows you to brush a comb through your hair without it getting tangled, and this timotei shampoo allowed me to brush through without any fuss. Although the fragrance didn't linger on my hair unfortunately, I still found that it left my hair shiny and healthy looking. As for whether or not it strengthens it, well only time will tell, however, I am very impressed with the shine and the softness which has left on my hair.
All in all, I think this is a great shampoo. As I said, whether it really does strengthen your hair will only be vaidated in time, however I have found that it really does leave you hair feeling shiny and soft. It allowed me to brush through my wet hair without any tangles. My only slight criticism is that the lovely fresh scent that you get when you open the lid, does not linger on your hair, unlike some other shampoos. I would however very much recommend this shampoo, particularly when you are getting it on offer, which happens quite regularly at Tesco.
Summary: A great shampoo which is frequently on offer
