Advantages: Good price, Shiny highlights, Smells good

Disadvantages: Not conditioning enough for dry hair on its own, Possibly tested on animals?

This shampoo contains camomile which helps blonde/highlighted hair look lighter and brighter. On the bottle it claims 86% of women have perceived highlights in their hair after product usage (out of 245 women with blonde to light brown hair).

After I used it I did notice highlights in my hair. They may have been there before when I wasn't looking for them but I was pleased with the result. I think it has a cumulative effect in that the more times you use it, the better the effect. I also have found that if you leave it in your hair for a while before rinsing, it gives better results.

It has a nice fragrance, not sure what of, probably camomile but I have no idea what that smells like so I'm only guessing! It's quite a floral perfume.

The consistency is quite runny but not too runny that it falls out of your hand. It is coloured yellow and has pretty glittery sparkles in it. The shampoo gives a good lather and rinses out well. My hair is quite dry so I couldn't use it alone as I think my hair would be quite knotty if I did. I used the complementing conditioner in the range which untangles hair really well and leaves it smooth.

Timotei is made by Lever Faberge and has a freephone helpline 0800 085 2861. I think they have been known to test on animals so it may not be suitable for those who wish to purchase a cruelty-free product.

This product has been out for a while now so for all you people out there with blonde or highlighted hair I recommend you give it a go. Alternatively, you could try Sunsilk Lumi Camomilla, a new shampoo out from the same company which has EXACTLY the same ingredients, looks the same, gives the same result and has EXACTLY the same claims on the bottle as Timotei. The only difference is Timotei is cheaper. The choice is yours!

Timotei is widely available in supermarkets, Superdrug, Boots and chemists. The shampoo comes in a 200ml and 400ml bottle and the conditio
ner in a 300ml bottle. Prices range from about 99p to £2.49 depending on where you shop. Its best to shop around as it can often be found on buy-one-get-one-free offers.
