Advantages: great results, good price

Shampoo, you could spend your whole life searching for the perfect one but once you find it nothing can compare. Well, as much like a relationship it sounds there are the fun times and the bad times. I have been searching for a great shampoo for ages, I have tried L'Oreal but felt it didn't make my hair as great as I thought it would then I tried the Superdrug henna shampoo but saw no change and I have tried many others but then gave up. It wasn't until one fine day in Boots I noticed a 3 for 2 on Timotei copper radiance. I used to hate Timotei for the fact they were always doing products for blondes as all companies do and forget that Brunettes want to enhance their cheztnutiness or hazelness.
So I bought the shampoo and the conditioner with it. Now, the packaging is very nice. It is a burnt umber coloured lid and the body of the bottle is a ginger/amber mix colour. The bottle is made of plastic and on the front in green which is bold on the contrasting background it says Timotei Sensations then in brown, Copper Radiance. The picture on the front is of a leaf and under, the powdery henna colouring over a flower, very attractive picture and really livens up the bottle. Under this picture is light to dark brown hair which is specified. Now having medium brown hair this was perfect for me.
So, on the back is the amazing fact that 81% of women have perceived highlights. They tell you how to use this but it is pretty much the way most people do use shampoo. Also it states this can be used on natural or coloured brown hair which is good. This shampoo promises to "add richness to all the shades in light brown to dark brown hair". With this much promising I decided I had to just go for it.
First, I wet my hair then put about a 2p piece sized amount of shampoo into the palm of my hand. The shampoo itself is a gorgeous colour, it dazzles in the light and is a metallic ginger shade or I could just say bronze which would make life much easier. I then took the shampoo and lathered it up in my hair. For me usually it takes a second shampoo for it to really lather up but not with Timotei it instantly lathered up even without my hair dripping wet. I rinsed it out then did the same again.
After the wash I wrapped my hair up and then was ready for the real test, the hair dryer. I dried my hair and then at first didn't think much of a difference because I personally am not good at noticing a difference. My sister then said to me the next again day have you done something to your hair it looks different. She noticed the copper highlights and said it looked shinier. I did agree on the fact it looked shinier and healthier. I also had comments from my friends when the sun shone onto my hair saying I had nice red highlights.
If the above comments aren't a success, I don't know what is. I was really pleased about the comments and also happy with the results. The thing is that I use GHD straighteners on my hair a lot and don't want my hair damaged but with this shampoo my hair never looks as bad as some people's hair who I can see the split ends from a mile away. The secret as to why I also don't have that problem will be revealed in a later review. The good thing about this shampoo in particular as well is that I was wanting to buy the Brilliant Brunette shampoo which costs at least £5 a bottle and I am so glad I didn't buy that because it is expensive for regular washing and also I am not sure it might have been as good.
There are a lot of shampoo companies who have jumped on the bandwagon with the colour enhancing shampoo formulas but still Timotei to me is pretty much worth it. I do recommend using the Copper Radiance conditioner with it as they work best together. They are usually on offer in some shop. If it's not Boots it's Superdrug or the local supermarket so, so far I haven't really had to spend too much.
In the bottle there is 300ml which usually lasts me up to 3-4 weeks which is really good. You can buy the shampoo for £1.99 a bottle or sometimes on buy 1 get 1 half price just have a look around.

- 11/06/05 I have used henna shampoos in the past but always found them messy and they didn't make much difference to my hair. Perhaps they have evolved since then!
