Timotei - Pure
I think many of us have seen lots of things in the press about parabens and products like laureth sulfate, informing us that they are not always good for people with sensitive skin. As such I have been paying a little bit more attention to the ingredients of the products I have been buying. I was in the £1 shop the other day and I spotted a bottle of Timotei on the shelf, at the top it stated "NEW 0% silicones, parabens and colourants." So I decided to give it a try.
The bottle is pretty much the same as the image above, a clear plastic bottle with a striking gold cap. The cap oddly is green on the top, I think this is to match in with the Timotei colour scheme, however to be honest it looks more like they have pieced two lids aside! To use you simply press down on the small indent on the lid and the opposite side of the lid raises to reveal a small rectangular hole. The label to the bottle is white with a mix of gold and green logo and letterings which adds to the pure look of the product. It informs me that this particular shampoo is for normal to greasy hair and that it contains organic green tea leaf.
The bottle is advertised as being eco friendly and it says that it is entirely recyclable.
The shampoo is a clear gel and has a really nice fresh scent that reminds me of a very faint tea tree smell, although I can see non on the ingredients so it must be from the green tea. The gel is of a really nice consistency, it is thick enough that it does not run straight off my hand when squeezed into my palm but then not too thick so that it was difficult to remove from the bottle.
The shampoo lathered up really nicely onto my hair, I really did not need much. My hair is ¾ of the way down my back so I normally need a very generous amount of product, however with this I only needed a small bit around a 10p piece in size.
The product rinsed off really easily and left my hair with a lovely squeak to it, there was no residue left and it smelt really nice. The only issue I did find was that my hair did get a little tangled after rinsing, however once I had used a conditioner it was fine.

SIZE & PRICE ....
The bottle I purchased was a 250ml bottle, however a quick search on the internet shows that it is also available in 400ml. Price for my purchase was obviously a £1 from the £1 store, however it appears to retail around £2.99 - £3.99 for the larger bottle.
I am around half way through the bottle now and I am really liking this shampoo, it's not as natural as it could be but it certainly has not caused me any issues, my hair has come up squeaky clean when I used it and continues to smell very nice the following day. I do not want to sound like a bottle snob, if there is even such a thing but I really liked the bottle on this product, I find sometimes with a lot of different products in the bathroom and so many different colours going on the bottles can just look awful in certain bathroom colour schemes. I think with the clear bottle with a white label, this will look lovely in any bathroom setting.
Overall I have really liked this product, I will definitely be purchasing it in the future. It has not improved the greasy roots, but it has certainly got rid of any build up I had at my roots.
I would happily give this product 4 out of 5 star's, I only taking one star away because my hair does need a large amount of conditioner to remove the tangles.
Summary: Does exactly what it says on the bottle.
