When I style my hair I generally like to use a hair mousse because I find the mousse is easier to style my hair than the hair gels. Decided to buy this one because it says Boost- It on the can, thought it would maybe give my hair a little more volume since my hair is quite long at the moment. This hair mousse I spotted on offer a while ago while out shopping. It comes in a red can which has a removable lid. The name is clearly on the front and so can be easily spotted on a shelf. The can I have is quite a small one. I liked the size of the can because I was going away for the weekend and thought it would be less bulky in my wash bag. It is very easy to use by just shaking the can and then pressing the nozzle to release the mousse onto the fingertips. The directions tell me to spray it onto the palm of the hands but I always like to spray a mousse onto my fingertips, I find it much easier that way to apply it to my hair and something I have always tended to do. You also don't need to spray too much of the mousse onto the fingertips to give a good volume, a little does go a very long way with this one. The mousse is white in colour, has a soft texture and sprays a good soft bubble onto the fingertips. This mousse has an amazing fragrance to it and smells of a nice perfume scent. It is quite a strong fragrance but it isn't too overpowering but it is a beautiful scent. I absolutely love the smell of this mousse. The instructions is once on the fingertips it is to be worked into damp hair, starting mid length and working along the hair to the ends. I generally begin at the root of my hair and work my way along the hair until I reach the length I want the root to cover. I find applying it to the root gives me a little lift this area. This mousse doesn't feel sticky or tacky on the hair, it is very easy to style it with the hair drier and I find my brush doesn't get all tangled around my hair. the mousse feels soft and easily manageable for my long hair. It gives my roots a really good lift and helps to give my hair some volume. I tend to not have to hold my hair drier too long in the area I am styling, so my arms don't ache so much while I am blow drying my hair because it doesn't take long for the mousse to dry. I find the mousse doesn't feel sticky or tacky after my hair has dried. It feels quite the opposite and feels smooth and soft. My roots although have been lifted, don't feel rock hard or uncomfortable. The rest of my hair can flow easily without it feeling stiff etc. my hair has movement and sways in the way I like my hair to sway and looks natural as if I am not wearing a hair mousse. Which does give a more natural look and not a look were the hair appears a mousse has been applied. This mousse works really well for giving a nice shine to the area the mousse has been applied too. It gives a really nice natural hold I expect from a well know brand. I cannot remember how much I paid for this mousse at the time but I think it was priced at around £3 for a 50ml can but like I said earlier in my review I did buy it on special offer and I bought it from Boots. I think it is super value for this price and I would pay the full asking price too. It is a good quality mousse. This size can is a good size to fit inside an overnight bag for taking on holiday or an overnight stay. Takes little space in the bag and weighs next to nothing. I think it is suitable for both long and short hair, is fabulous for styling and does give a boost to the hair. A good choice of name Boost- It from Toni & Guy in my opinion. I will buy it again in the future because it does exactly what it claims to do for styling the hair. I highly do recommend this mousse to anyone looking to buying a good mousse with a very nice fragrance which does also smell really nice on the hair after it has dried and also this fragrance does last for a very long time. Highly recommend it if you are looking for a mousse which gives a good root lift and is kind to the hair and gives it a natural look. I give this mousse 5 stars. Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been of some help.
My hair is very thick and actually wanted to buy a mousse to keep my hair at the current volume as it often deflates after being in contact with wind. I have tried a fair few other products and found that they left my hair looking greasy and my hair would often end up sticking to eachother. This would often result in me having to wash my hair all over again or some intensive combing. -.- I found that the mousse was quite effective in keeping my hair at the current volume, however I couldn't get away from the stickiness and the greasy effect it left on my hair. Also, the mousse stuck to my hands after applying it to my hair and left an unpleasant smell. This wouldn't be convenient if you were in a rush. The container is very large and this is very good value for money, however as I used the mousse once, I found that the nozzle had broken. I could not use the mousse any longer; this wasn't much of a disappointment. However, the mousse did last quite long. Seeing as I bought the mousse on a "3 for £10" offer, I did not feel cheated for the amount of money I spent and felt the price was reasonable for the amount of money other hair products cost.
I have very fine fly away hair that gets greasy and heavy with just the smallest amount of products. For years I have tried numerous high street and salon products that promise me Cheryl Cole like volume and lustre. On nearly all counts I have disappointed by the products. They have either just made my hair hard and crispy, or overloaded it at the roots will little or no effect. Some have produced some volume straight after drying for it to only deflate within a hour. Then I was given a freebie of Toni & Guy Boost It Mousse - and wow, my life is complete! The mousse comes in a large hairspay size container and is dispensed from a little nozzle from the side of the top. Give the tube a shake and dispense away, the mouse is highly pressurised and comes out in a controllable burst as opposed to flying out too quickly. This means you are in control of the amount of product you want and minimise wastage. The mousse itself has a nice aroma, nothing overpowering or chemically and is very light and not at all sticky, compared to alot of other volumising products. I have below shoulder length hair and I use about the amount of half a tennis ball. Apply the mousse to the roots and part of the shaft of your hair and then give it a comb through to evenly dispense throughout the crown. Blow dry your hair paying particular attention to the roots and you should see the results I do. I achieve on every wash volume, smoothness and still manage to maintain softness to my hair. There is no brittleness or stickiness to contend with - it is just super. The volume last really well, not just flattening out as soon as you do your hair, and brushes out easily in the evening leaving no residue or flakes in your hair. You will pay anything from £2.50 - £3.50 dependent on offers and where you purchase it from. Each can I have lasts me a good 3-4 months and I am an every other day hair washer. Really good value for money from a high street product. I would strongly recommend this product to anyone with fine hair wishing to just get that little bit of longer lasting lift in their hair. Team it with the right shampoo, conditioner and hair spray and you are looking at super locks for ever!
