Advantages: Nice scent leaves hair shiny
Disadvantages: Relatively expensive product
Following my review of the Toni & Guy Daily Style Shampoo I am following with a review of Toni & Guy Daily Style Conditioner as I bought both products together during a shopping spree in Boots.
***Packing***
The Toni & Guy Daily Style Conditioner comes in a red plastic 250ml bottle. The bottle has a white plastic pump dispenser and lid. On the front of the bottle the Toni & Guy branding is written in large white font therefore it is highly apparent the bottle markets itself as being a "salon" brand.
Like the shampoo from this range the pump dispenser only dispenses a small amount of product. This is great for minimising wastage but needs around 10 presses of the pump to dispense a satisfactory amount of conditioner which when you are in a rush is slightly annoying.
The packaging states the product is for "your daily quick fix of moisture to optimise your hairs condition, detangle, nourish, and smooth for tresses that really shine". This does not state what type of hair the product is for but is described as "light" therefore from this I would assume that like the shampoo it is for those with normal/ greasy hair which do not need as much moisture and deep conditioning as those with drier hair.
Like the shampoo bottle from the same range from Toni & Guy the conditioner bottle is quite stylish and it does look good in the bathroom.
***Price***
A 250ml bottle costs £4.99. This is an average price if compared to other "salon" brands but more expensive than many other conditioners on the market. You would expect because of the higher price the Toni & Guy Conditioner has superior results however in my opinion it doesn't and the results are simply average.
However in my opinion this is an overpriced product if you compare it to conditioners from the TRESemme range which are £4.00 (at a maximum) for 900ml and have far superior results.
***Application***
The bottle states "smooth on wet hair, comb through, leave for 2 minutes, rinse".
The conditioner when dispensed from the bottle is a white colour gel. Like the shampoo it is quite thick in consistency. It applies very easily to hair and unlike the shampoo the conditioner spreads easily through hair so you do not need to use as much of the product. A 250ml bottle of the conditioner from Toni & Guy would probably last me around 4-5 weeks where the shampoo only lasted 3 weeks.
The conditioner has a scent very similar to the shampoo from the Toni & Guy range. It has a light fruity scent which is not at all overpowering. It is more of a "fruity" scent but in my opnion has slight hints of apricot and peach.
The conditioner is rinsed from hair very easily which is surprising as it feels quite greasy when first applied to hair. Once I finished rinsing my hair felt very light and clean and it did not feel like the conditioner had left a greasy coating to the hair.
***Results***
After blow drying my hair I liked the fact my hair had a lovely light clean scent and as expected my hair smelt like when I have visited a hair salon. Running my hands through my hair my hair felt extremely clean and light and soft and I was extremely pleased that my hair did not have a sticky coating to it or that my hair was covered in a residue.
My hair looked shiny and soft therefore in good condition but it did not have a really glossy shiny look to it which other conditioners leave it with.
The product was particularly good for when I created curls in my hair as it left my hair feeling light and not weighed down by product. As a result I use this product when I curl my hair as it means that my hair looks shiny but the curls do not "drop" and the style lasts longer. So for those that want to style their hair and retain volume this product allows you to do this effective.
My hair did feel shiny and clean throughout the day and unlike many conditioners it did not leave my hair feeling overly greasy or lank in the evening. I was content with results of the conditioner but not overly enthusiastic and was left with the feeling that for the money I could have bought a much more effective product so was left feeling slightly disappointed and that I had wasted my money. I would recommend this conditioner for those with normal to greasy hair but not for those with dry hair as I feel that it would not condition the hair enough and not give it the added moisture that it needed.
***Overall***
This is simply an OK product. I was not dissatisfied with the Toni & Guy Daily Style Conditioner but I was also not blown away by it and left thinking it was a great product. It left my hair feeling conditioned and shiny, without leaving any residue or sticky but my hair has been left shinier and in better condition after using other cheaper conditioners.
For £4.99 for a 250ml bottle I feel that this is over priced for the average results that are achieved and your money would be better spent on a different conditioners
Summary: A daily use salon quality conditioner from Toni & Guy, a bit overpriced
