Advantages: not sticky, dont need to use much, great hold

Disadvantages: none

I was looking for a small can of hairspray to keep with me in my bag, in case of an all too inevitable hair emergency. I had previously been using Silvikrin, but it left my hair feeling hard and sort of crunchy (yuk!), so when I spotted a travel-size bottle of Toni and Guy fix-it hairspray I decided to give it a try.

Packaging

This hairspray comes in a white can with bold red writing and a silver coloured lid. The spray nozzle is easy to push down, and has not as yet become clogged. This aerosol is CFC free.

What I thought

The first thing I noticed about this hairspray was the smell. It actually smells nice! Most, in fact I would say all, of the hairsprays I have used in the past have had a strong chemical smell to them, but this one smells quite floral and delicate.

The spray is very fine, and after spraying it onto my hair I noticed that I did not get the little white droplets that have to be brushed through, which I normally get with other sprays.

I was expecting my hair to become hard, but despite spraying quite liberally the first time I used it, I found that where I could definitely tell which parts of my hair had been sprayed and which had not, it did not feel as hard as it normally does. I have since, not been spraying so much, as I find that you do not have to use too much spray for your hair to stay in place.
I have also found with this spray, that it doesn’t leave hair sticky
The spray brushes out, and does not flake, which I was quite impressed with, as there is nothing worse than brushing through your hair after using hairspray, and ending up looking like you have dandruff.

It costs £1.59 for a 50ml bottle from Boots, and I would definitely recommend it.

Summary: Great hairspray
