Advantages: Save someone else spending 2/3 years growing out disaster

Disadvantages: quite lengthy description

Previously been to Toni & Guy at a different branch for several years, stylist left then I saw an advert at the Wilmslow branch for haircut and colours by qualified trainees, not one to take risks with a trainee, qualified and toni & guy were the plus points, as well as the sign saying you can have what you want done.
Colour done first, lots of time spent on consultation with pleasant supervisor, felt she was listening to what I said. The trainee asked did I want my hair cutting as she only did colours, an abrupt trainee who cut hair came up and I said I would probably have it done but I explained I only needed a trim as growing out shaped back, but liked the length at the front, felt it suited my not size 10 face , she said fine and discussed layers, I said as my hair has to be tied up for work and layers always stick out on me, that I did not want layers higher than the bottom of my ears. She told me it be better if if she cut all the bottom straight in one go, that people kid themselves (her words) that hair felt longer if they could see it at the front,( at least we may feel less butch) I said this was too drastic as there was about 5/6 inches difference, and repeated that I wanted to grow out in stages and about not having short layers. She had bad communiation skills and told me on several occasions I was lucky to be having hair done by toni & guy especially for £15.00, and that most people tipped as whilst they are waiting for their toni & guy training they earned less, but I was still feeeling confident regarding the colour consultation I ignored those saying stop now thoughts in my head. Next thing I know she has cut the back straight, whilst tellling me it was better for me, although I still could not see quite how short and as a result by the time came to cutting the front part of the bob, had no alternative but to sit there and let her cut it one length, I was obviously quite worried and she kept saying wait until you see what I have done with the back, now visibly distressed as what I can see at front looks mighty short and about then the supervisor came over to assess what she had done on the length, I said to the supervisor nicely that I did not want any shorter, the trainee then started layering all over, I repeated about not short layers, and she said don't worry it was not short, when it was dry I was horrified, I had gone from one length hair to a parted layered fringe that was just below eyebrow length and layers through the whole of my hair that were higher than my eyebrows, even worse the front fringe part she had created was cut across to behind my ears so I will now have to wait for my hair to grow from eyebrow length to chin length to even grow out this horrid cut she had decided on, let alone what I had before . Nearly crying, I then stupidly paid her, did not comment when she showed me the even worse back as could not trust myself to scream or assault her, never felt or looked that bad before freinds admitted it was dreadfull and layers were not even and more on one side than the other . Rang Manager few days later and commented on the trainees attitude, not listening despite frequently saying no layers she said pleasantly what could they do about it, I had to say nothing as my layers were over my ears already and I now have a short layered fringe that goes to round to behind my ears unless she could stick it back on their was nothing else I could do but wait 3 years, yes I have researched hair grows 0.5 inches a month, this girl is going to work in a newly opened Knutsford branch when she has done 6 weeks at the T & G academy so be warned, don't go there ever and go with your gut instinct if you feel the stylist is not listening and says she knows that its better for you to get it all cut off at once, even though she agreed she would not. On a positove note the colour was great, pity I only go out now when I have to as so embarassed still some 3 weeks later.

Summary: don't save money, your hair could not look any worse before you came in.
