Love my sharp cut (Toni & Guy)

Advantages: Well trained, no school work experience staff

Disadvantages: Out of some people price range and a stigma attached to 'snootyness' at T&G

Just got back from having my hair chopped off at Toni and Guys salon. I usually only go to Toni and Guys when they have Stand in appointments available as that way you get a bargain but they don't seem to do them often.

If my hair is longer as it was prior to today I would go to heart of england for a trim as its only £5.50 they don't do a bad job and its not that noticable with long hair.

But today I wanted to go back to having a graduated bob and I feel that when you are having a restyle you need a precision haircut. Toni and Guy sent me a £10 voucher for my birthday and I chose the stylist Rachel to do my hair whom I have met before. As a stylist she is the bottom of the ranks and therefore she is £29 for a cut and blowdry and with my voucher I got a great hair cut for a mere £19.

I went in 5 minutes before my appointment time, was shown to a seat to wait for Rachel, I had booked online for the first time and was relived it had all worked! Rachel came to see me within minutes, she asked what I would like to have done with my hair, gave me advise on how she thought it would look best to give me fine hair some volume.

Then we went over to the hair wash. She washed my hair twice with some nice shampoo and did a firm but relaxing massage, due to my cold and lack of sleep I had tp stop my self from falling asleep!! Then she applied the conditioner and combed it through before rinsing. The hair washing took at least 5 minutes.

She then started the cut, she realised that she had forgot to offer me a drink and did so apologising profusly!! I refused on this occasion but Toni and Guy usually offer filter coffee with a biscuit or Tea and fruit juices.

Rachel finished my cut then explained she would dry it off before cutting further layers in and my fringe at the front, she explained that this way she could see how it would sit on my face rather than it springing up once dry. She dried and straightend my hair, then spend another 10 minutes cutting into my hair to add definition.

I loved my final result, found Rachel pleasent to talk to and I felt pampered and unrushed just when I needed it!!

Summary: I loved my experience today but its not always been this great.
