Advantages: Near a Starbucks

Disadvantages: EVERYTHING

I have used Toni & Guy salons on and off now for over 20 years. I have lived all over the U.K. and the U.S.A. and when in doubt and I have needed follicular help in a strange city I have always relied on Toni & Guy. I began having my hair permed when I was 16 back in the 80's when you wanted a Carol Decker or Kate Bush look. This style I kept for 29 years. In 2005 conscious that the romantic curly look was gone I did something drastic. I donated my waist length Kate Bush hair to Locks for Love. Although I know some sick children are now sporting my beloved hair I missed it. I grew it for 3 years and despite been told by people and the glossy magazines that perms were out I went into Toni & Guy of Wilmslow and arranged for a perm. Now I do not know whether or not it is because perms are out and have been for some years that stylists no longer know how to perm or that I was just
unlucky but I did not look like Kate anymore. I thought Bless Him , ( of the nervous youngster in charge of the neutraliser solution)I 'll go home and in 3 days when it is safe to wash I'll work my magic scrunch technique and I 'll be on the Kareoke singing China in your Hand. What I got was,if I worked very hard and did lots of back combing a female Russel Brand with generous pear shape proportions and not many men throwing themselves at me. Today I decided to well not complain but ask for advice on how to get my desired look. It started promising with the 'CHEMICAL SPECIALIST' inviting me into the salon for a look. Excited I rushed down paid for parking and entered Toni & Guy's. A two pronged attack followed, the brightly coloured haired manager, a few seconds older than the stylist, thought I ( a connoiseur of perm solutions) needed educating. Apparently L'Oreal was to blame, the length of my hair was to blame, the layers in my hair was to blame, when I pointed out these were put in the same time as the perm , they were excused. So too were all the Toni & Guy salons who have previously permed my hair where it lasted more than 12 weeks. Then to add insult to injury it was intimated I was trying it on for a free service. A red faced CHEMICAL STYLIST EXPERT showed me the door . So if like me you want a perm DO NOT go to the Wilmslow salon. I have had successful experiences at the Leeds, Macclesfield and Austin Texas salons. So if you are in these areas and need a hairdresser I would recommend these.

Summary: Use another branch of Toni & Guy
