Advantages: Are listened to so get exactly what you want., Lots of attention and pampering, no rush.
Disadvantages: A little pricy but worth it
I first went to Toni and Guy last year and i so wish i had decided to go there years ago. I have had so many disasters with so many different hairdressers that it was nice to go somewhere where someone actually listened to what you wanted and did what you said. I had a meeting with the girl that was colouring my hair first and discussed what i wanted and what colours/treatments etc would be best for my hair. She did a colour test too just to make sure thier was no allergic reaction and that my hair didn't turn green!!! She then went on to colour my hair taking a great deal of care and attention over it. After my colour was done i had my hair cut. The lady that was doing the cut spent 5 mins with me discussing exactly what i wanted and hoe best to acheive the look that i would like. All in all i spent about 3 hours in there being totally pampered and came out with the hair cut and colour that i have wanted for so long. the colours have lasted for ages, twice as long as any other hairdresser i have been to. It may be a little pricy depending on what you are having done but you cannot say you do not get value for money. I spent ages in there, loads of attention, i was listened to and i came out feeling a million dollars.

- 14/10/02 I've had varied experiences with them: a very good cut in Nott'm about 7 years ago where the hairdresser listened to what I wanted, and a not so good cut in Golders Green about 5 years ago where they hardly took anything off and charged me £40! However, I do think that generally speaking if you want to be able to rely on a certain standard and skill, i.e. don't want a dated cut from a small salon that is behind the times or mostly has older customers, it would be safe to go to T&G. That's the value of chains, I suppose. |

- 14/10/02 I have walked in and out of Toni and Guy very quickly as they wanted over £20 to cut my daughters hair she was 2 at the time. I didn't realise they were that pricey either. I think you should have said a bit more about the prices compared with other hairdressers in your op. I am glad you had a good experience with them though because at those prices you should. |
