Advantages: Everything

Disadvantages: Bottleis a bit clumsy (small nark though!)

On a recent shopping trip to Boots it was only natural that I'd look at the hair care products. It's fair to say such products have taken over in the obsession stakes with me that last year seemed to be with cosmetics! I now have enough cosmetics though to compete with Boots so yep I've moved on to all this stuff!

I say all. That's without exaggeration. My dressing table is straining under the weight of pots and bottles. Drawers and shelves are suffering big time and are rammed to the brim and just when I think no more I see items on the cheap or a deal or something and am seduced all over again by promises of catwalk hair. There is nothing I need and I only have one head and one life and it is all rather silly I do admit lol.

Anyway being familiar with Toni&Guy products when I saw all of the Model.Me products rather less than half price I filled up my basket with pretty much one of everything in the range. I'd never tried Model.Me products before cos I wouldn't pay the usual prices but I am aware how much they usually cost because I have seen them before in Boots and I am also aware of how great Toni&Guy products are! I tried some Toni&Guy shampoo and conditioner once and thought they were really brilliant but couldn't justify £12.00ish for two bottles of the stuff and I'd get through it all in a week! Ok I'm a bit heavy handed I admit!

Just to clarify Model.Me are Toni&Guy products. It's a range within a range type of thing. Where as the usual Toni&Guy products that alot of us are aware of are a bit funky, bright and distinctive this range is rather more grown up and subtle in it's approach. In fact if you didn't look hard and take a second glance at these products you wouldn't even notice they are Toni&Guy as they are that understated.

On their packaging they are of course branded but you need to look for that or you'd miss it. It's amazing how many people I saw walk past this range and look at other ranges, even the big flashy Toni&Guy stand next to these products. People just didn't realise what they were missing out on.

The range revolves around three women. Helena Christensen (model), Jamelia (singer and model, and Erin (model) and it works like this. All three women have a shampoo and conditioner in their honour and from there they each have individual products which seems to be based on their individual needs and hair types. So say for Jamelia she has Afro hair and she styles her hair straight so her products are serums and liquids to style straight and add moisture and give lots of gloss. Erin's range is more about adding shine with her more illuminating products and styling putty type products and Helena's range seems to me to be more about styling and enriching hair and giving hair care a natural approach. All the products, whichever woman's you buy can be mixed and matched with your own products or within the range and all the bottles and pots look the same it's only the cardboard sleeves that look different and of course they can come off and be thrown away!

The Packaging....

150ml white oblong, plastic bottle which is recyclable. Basically the bottom half is where the product is and the top half is the square lid that goes completely over the bottom square thus creating the oblong! Pull the lid off and you have a robust push button dispenser underneath. Around the middle of the bottle I'm told in light lilac and silver writing that it is Toni&Guy Model.Me, 'Helena', Vitamin Protection Spray. 'Care and nurture for your hair with antioxidants'. On the bottom the size is stated as I've listed already. On the back of the bottle I'm given directions for use, warnings and contact details for Model.Me. All very plain and elegant and looks very nice indeed! Over that when you purchase the product there is that cardboard sleeve I mentioned earlier that simply goes over the product. It's lilac in colour and on the front of that there is a photograph of a rather beautiful, Helena. On there in lilac and white writing I'm told what it is and who it is by once again and the size is stated. On the back I'm told a bit about about the product, directions for use, warnings and ingredients. On the base of the sleeve there is a black and white bar-code, contact details for Model.Me are once again given and finally there is a recycle symbol on there.

About The Product...According To Helena....

Naturally beautiful - it's the way I want to look. Backed by the technical expertise of Toni&Guy, my Model.Me range is exclusive collection of my favourite products infused with my delicious unique fragrance. Products that you can trust to care for your hair.

My Vitamin Protection Ppray with Panthenol cares for your hair, whilst reducing dullness and damage. Antioxidants give protection against environmental pollution, free radicals and heat damage, whilst humectants moisturise your hair and create shine. UV filters and intelligent conditioners prevent dryness.

Directions For Use....

Apply thoroughly to hair before using heating styling appliances or braving the elements.

My Experience....

Yet another top class product from Toni&Guy and I salute them! This is pure brilliance on their part and sorry ladies but yet another must have for all women who try to murder their hair with the help of heated appliances! I never knew how much I needed this spray until I'd bought it and used it and now I'm absolutely addicted to it!

It's simple enough to use. I use it on freshly washed, towel dried and combed/brushed through hair and you can use it a couple of ways. Either spray it liberally all over hair with a few pumps and comb/brush it through or use it section by section say if your letting hair dry naturally and then want to use this with hair straighteners, heated curlers or rollers. Now I have one small niggle and I have to complain about this as it annoys me!

For a product I have to spray on my head why make the bottle square? I only have little hands so to spray as I go is more difficult. It's ok I can of course use it and the product bottle looks great but it isn't as practical as elegant it looks!

So I personally spray it over my head before blow drying and it sprays out very evenly if held at an arms length and on my just below shoulder length hair I only need about 3-4 sprays which really isn't much product at all. When hair is coated with the transparent watery liquid that has a lovely faint, unusual floral smell to it (which really is faint by the way but very fresh) I comb/brush through once again and get to work. The first thing you notice if you touch your hair when it's still wet is how soft hair feels though you can feel a little greasiness to the hair and this worried me seeming as I sprayed it onto my roots which get greasy naturally.

No need to sorry though. Blow dry your hair as you normally do and me I tease my hair straight as I dry. The greasy feeling I previously mentioned seems to evaporate into thin air giving way to smooth soft and supple hair. It's wonderful on every level and if using your hands and/or fingers when styling no stickiness can be felt and this doubles as a fabulous hand treatment lol!

My hair is 80% more sleeker through drying alone. The smell is wonderful and that lasts till it's washed out (which is easy). My hair feels shiny and that's the best way I can describe it to you. If I gently smooth my hand down my locks after using this without looking I'd day I've achieved mirror shine and I'm not wrong. Greasy bits are no more greasy. Dry bits are left feeling incredibly hydrated. Frizz is almost banished through blow drying alone and flyaways and split ends seem to get camouflaged and your left with hair that falls nicely and looks natural.

Hair is beautifully satin shiny and possesses that mirror shine I mentioned and hair is not weighed or dragged down it just all looks naturally beautifully and glossy and more than anything healthy and vibrant and still containing life. After using this people have commented on my shiny, smooth hair and one ex adored the smell of it!

Of course for me blow drying, although the results are very impressive I do personally straighten my hair and again this is another reason this is so wonderful. For me not only does it protect my hair from direct heat and do all the things I've already mentioned already, this works beautifully as a hair straightening product as well and I find minimal effort is required to straighten after using this and therefore less time is required and less electricity is needed. I also have used this with heated curlers and tongs (I possess both) and although this isn't pacifically a hair styling product it does keep the waves and curls your trying to create in tip top condition.

This product is the only one you need on your hair as it does everything in one product. I find by just using this alone I get amazing results so I don't feel the need to slap on serums or hairsprays. Once styled, hair stays styled and radiant and so much so the day after using this hair still looks almost as good as when the style was first created even if you've been up partying all night or sleeping on it. Sure you need to touch it up a bit but really as someone who always washes her hair every day I would be happy not to if need be because the hair still feels soft, healthy, hydrated and smelling incredibly nice.

This is a must have for people with particularly dry hair. I mean it's intelligent enough for anyone really to use but if you are a heated appliance addict like me then this is simply a joy to use. Everything about this is mind blowingly good and as I sit here reviewing this product for you I'm stroking my beautiful sleek and soft barnet now. Recommended? Hell yes! What you waiting for ladies? My hair has never been so soft and healthy as it is now and this seems to help my hair long term as well as my hair feels stronger now after a couple of weeks of using it and I'm definitely getting less shedding of hair and less breakage in general.

I purchased mine for £1.29 a bottle last week but the price is now back up to £2.99. However the usual price is £5.99 a bottle as it just happens this range is on offer at the moment. I purchased mine in Boots but do look about for it particularly on line for bargains and deals! You may have to pay £5.99 for this but me, I shall buy it for that without a doubt even if I keep it as a rescue remedy! I used terrible shampoo and conditioner the other day and this corrected my dried out hair! It's a marvel!

Summary: Amazing treatment spray!

Thanks Genius and M19 x

Well I got some Ghd stuff and although I rate that as well, depending on the products your doing comparison on (of course) this in some cases beats the crap out of ghd stuff, in my opinion. This is better on my hair than the ghd offering in the same vain I can tell you that much lol x
