Advantages: You get a lot for your money when it is on offer

Disadvantages: my hair feels lank and lifeless and dull

After colouring my hair recently I decided to have a change of shampoo and conditioner. I usually use the Alberto Balsam Tea Tree tingle shampoo and conditioner and have done for years.

I had a browse on the Asda website as I have my shopping delivered and they had Tresemme products on offer at 3 for £10. I thought this sounded like quite a good deal even though it was much more expensive than my normal shampoo and conditioner. The main reason I was interested in the deal was down to the size of the bottle you were buying which was 900ml compared to the 400ml bottles I was buying of the other brand. I decided to try the Tresemme colour protection colour revitalize shampoo and conditioner.

I was quite excited about trying a new shampoo for the first time, I don't get out much and I don't change my shampoo very often. I coloured my hair and started using the shampoo on the next wash.
The shampoo is quite thick and has a creamy look to it whereas I have found that although coloured shampoos are usually clear. The smell is quite fresh and certainly not unpleasant but I wouldn't say it was particularly fragrant or as distinctive as the tea tree.

The bottle is huge and when full can be quite tricky to hold and squeeze especially when your hands are wet. The bottle has a flip top so no need to remove the cap but this can be removed if necessary.

Initially I was quite pleased with the shampoo and my hair felt very nice after using it. I have been using the shampoo for around six weeks now and am still only about two thirds of the way down so it is lasting well. I wash my hair on alternate days and don't use any styling products apart from occasionally a bit of hair spray. I can't say that I noticed any change in the colour of my hair or that the shampoo made the colour brighter or more radiant. What I have noticed is that my hair doesn't feel clean any more. What I mean is that after shampooing and before conditioning my hair doesn't have that squeaky clean feeling that I used to get from my tea tree shampoo. I have quite thick hair and it does have a natural way but I feel like this shampoo has taken any natural shine out of my hair. My hair now feels coarse and dull and knots up more easily and even my scalp feels different. I have also noticed that my hair feels dirty more quickly and I certainly couldn't go more than every other day as it feels greasy and uncomfortable after only leaving it for one day.

I have tried using less shampoo and rinsing my hair more thoroughly but still can't get my hair to feel clean and shiny. I haven't coloured my hair again and assume that the entire colour has washed out now anyway.

Needless to say I am desperate to finish this shampoo and get back to my Tea tree so my hair will feel like it has been washed again.

It may be for professionals but they can keep it.

Summary: Not for me
