Advantages: No frizz and feels good.
Disadvantages: Large white boring white bottle.
Shopping one day in Tesco my younger daughter was with me and asked if I had ever tried TRESsemmé. I replied "No, it's too expensive, and not for my age group". "It's really good" she replied, "and that's a great offer". I wasn't tempted but on passing the display on the shelf end, I thought "Why not, it's a bargain!" I love bargains! I bought a Shampoo and a conditioner. I’ve already reviewed the shampoo and love it , so thought I’d review the conditioner.
The Bottle
***********
It is a big, heavy bottle, containing a huge amount of conditioner, 900mls. It is in a white plastic bottle, which is rather plain and not very attractive. The little logo is on the front and the name, with a "Used by Professionals" underneath. My product states Vitamin E and Moisture rich, and is for dry or damaged hair. My hair isn't really dry or damaged but I do have perms and so the hair needs to be pampered, or it will become dry and damaged. On the back of the conditioner is a guide to the conditioning level, and the Moisture Rich was next to deep. Healthy Volume, being the lightest and colour revitalising the deepest level. As always, a list of ingredients and also some tips.
Claims
********
Conditioner
Restores moisture and strength.
Enriched with the same ingredients as above.
Designed for dry, damaged hair.
Our patented professional performance formula dramatically improves hair's condition.
I was really interested in that last claim. DRAMATICALLY! Quite a claim I thought. Would it work? Probably not, but you'll need to read on to find out!
Salon Tips
************
On the conditioner, the tips are to apply after shampooing evenly through hair, concentrating on the ends. (To me that is a contradiction, if it's even it is even, if you are concentrating on the ends they might be getting more!) For optimal manageability, use with TRESemmé shampoo and styling products.
The Contents
***************
The conditioner is white and slightly thicker than the shampoo, not as highly perfumed but a faint expensive perfume exudes as I massage it into my hair (concentrating on my ends of course!) A greasy, feel to the rich contents.
The Experience
*************
After washing my hair twice, I massage in the conditioner. I usually leave the conditioner on whilst I shower and then rinse it off. My hair feels sleek and hydrated, maybe slightly greasy until I towel dry it. I can now see where the expression "Water off a ducks back" comes from as my hair must be just like that! One disadvantage is I take ages in the shower as I love these products!
Disadvantages
*****************
The bottle is large and not everyone wants a big, white bottle on display in their bathroom! They are also heavy when full and quite un-wieldy with wet hands, drop it on your toe, at your peril. It hurts! The conditioner is still half full and weighs 582gr. Another disadvantage is the shampoo is used up quicker than the conditioner, as I usually wash my hair twice, people with longer hair have the opposite problem and run out of conditioner first.
The Results
**************
Clean, shiny hair. Smelling lovely and feeling good. Was there a dramatic difference?
I have to say YES! I have naturally straight hair and have had perms most of my adult life. They can go slightly frizzy at first, but this hasn't happened since using Tresemme, my hair looks much better.
The Cost
***********
At present on sale at £3.85 each or 2 for £5.00, a bargain as I've been using mine for several months, next time I buy it I'll have to see how long it lasts and will update this review.
Other products
****************
I have since bought the mousse, in a black bottle of course, not too large just 30mls and so I am optimising the results. There are also sprays and gels and putty, which I haven't sampled yet.
I really need to change my bathroom to Black and White before I buy any more TRESemmé products! I'll have the white towels, my husband and son can have the black.
Summary: Rich conditioner which really works on my hair.
