Advantages: Clear shampoo, cool packaging, inexpensive, nice smell
Disadvantages: Knotty hair, smell doesn't stick, no change in volume
Admittedly, I come from asia (as you can see from my profile picture, I am in fact, asian) where hair products are --- wonderful. only way to say it -- and have therefore involuntary become a haircare snob.
I'm going to have to say that I don't like this product.
The PACKAGING is lovely. It screams salon, professional, buy me. It comes in this sleek black bottle and stands out from pantene, clarol, all the rest the same way an Apple Mac stands out from a Windows PC (bit of a techie- apologies).
The product, however, DOES NOT WORK. It doesn't give me the silky smooth hair I want! Now I don't use this with the conditioner because the day i went to buy this i didn't have enough cash and I thought -ya, i can live without. Besides, I have really oily hair so I skip the conditioner on most days anyway.
I noticed no difference in the volume of my hair and after using this product my hair fell out loads more!
The ADVANTAGES of this product is that makes my hair feel seriously clean after using it (it just does, I can't really explain but it does for my friends too) and the shampoo is clear, which is a good sign because according to a magazine I once read (i read too many I don't remember which) creamy looking shampoos have too much chemicals and will weigh down your hair.
the DISADVANTAGES, however, are my falling out hair, the knottiness I would not have if only i stuck to creamy japanese shampoos, the lack of volume and the knottiness again! I brush through my hair with my fingers after washing, wait till it dries and then use a proper brush but with this shampoo it goes knotty at superspeed my hair is never not knotty!
Sounds kind of superficial but is major problem. My crush loves to run his hand through my hair and comment on its (artificial- thanks again creamy japanese shampoos) smooth/softness.
Also, the smell, although nice, does not stick to my hair. I don't understand my hair practically ADHERES to shampooo smells! But tresemme smells don't stick to my hair.
So yes, this is an average shampoo that does not weigh down hair but it could be soo much better!
Summary: nothing to see here!
