Advantages: Nice smell, cheap, big bottle

Disadvantages: Made my hair dull and lifeless

Introduction
----------------
I try not to use a hair-dryer or straighteners on my hair too much as my hair is extremely dry and doing both makes it even more so. But more recently I've been blow-drying my hair straight, so decided to buy a product to help protect it from the heat. I chose Tresemme Heat Defence Styling Spray, the reason I chose this one is that the bottle looked big and it was the cheapest I could find so I thought it was really good value. I've not used many Tresemme products before but it seems quite a popular brand, plus as Ricardo says, it's used by professionals so it must be good!

Price and Packaging
------------------------
The spray costs £3.59, and for that you get a big bottle of 300ml! The bottle is black and has a spray nozzle on the top. The logo is on the front and application instructions are on the back. The design isn't very jazzy or particularly attractive, it looks quite cheap actually.

The Claim
------------
This product claims to:
'Help prevent hair becoming brittle and dull'
'Contain a heat activated complex to help protect hair when drying and straightening'
'Reduce frizz, add shine'

How to Apply
----------------
On the back, it gives you these application unstructions: 'Spray evenly through damp hair. Use a brush to pull hair straight and blow dry from roots to end. For a really smooth finish, use a hair-dryer with a concentrator nozzle.'

The Application
-------------------
The first time I used this, I applied the spray as it advised, I sprayed it as evenly as I could (not that easy when you have long hair to determine an even application). The smell was quite nice, kind of a sweet smell. I then blasted my hair with a hair-dryer while running my fingers through my hair. When my hair was dry, I ran straighteners through it. My hair looked good at this point, although not much different to how it would normally look. It didn't look any shinier as I was hoping it would :( This was in the morning so I then went to work. My hair stayed the same all day and didn't lose any of it's shape which I was pleased about. However, my hair did look a little more dull than usual. The product is meant to stop that happening not make it worse! The next day, my hair felt lank, greasy and felt heavily coated in product. It was also even more dull, although still straight!

Overall Impression
-----------------------
This product didn't suit my hair at all and made it feel greasy, which is really strange considering I have dry hair! I don't think I used too much product so doubt that was the problem. It's hard to see if it protected my hair at all because I didn't continue using it after trying it 2 or 3 times and not getting anywhere.

Summary: Don't bother with this, there are many better products
