TRESemme' are a group of stylists and hair care experts who over a period of time has brought top salon quality products to the high street. After 40 years of experience I think they have it sussed when it comes to hair care and this heat defence styling spray did not let me down!

What it claims to do

The majority of people are now aware that styling your hair with anything that radiates heat can cause hair to become weak, damaged and very hard to work with and with straightening irons now becoming the norm for a lot of women and men heat protection spray has become just as popular. This product advertises that it guards against heat and damage. It is supposed to keep your hair shiny and incredibly soft. As well as helping keep whatever hair style you have created in shape and reducing frizz!!!! Phew!!! One busy product!!

Usability

It is VERY easy to use, and has a trigger spray which gives out a 'mist' of the product... so it spreads over a wider section of hair and does not make the hair become heavy or greasy... which can easily happen when you apply to much product. The aim is to spray over the middle and ends of your hair before you blow dry or you can spray on before using straightening irons or curlers. It advises you to spray liberally but because it spreads out so well I have found that you only need 2 or 3 sprays and this gives enough protection if you comb the spray through your hair.

Price and packaging

The packaging itself looks very professional in a black spray trigger bottle. It has the white Tresemme logo at the top and the purple box at the bottom which identifies the product as one that 'smoothes' as well as protects hair. The 300ml bottle is fairly big and should last you a good couple of months depending on how often you use it. I have also noticed that unlike many sprays the nozzle does not leak after it has been sprayed so the bottle does not end up all sticky and messy, as well as not wasting any of the spray! The spray itself is the colour of water... clear... so it does no damage the colour of your hair if you have a lighter hair colour.
From what I have tried to work out it has a smell of lemons... it DOES smell quite chemically, a bit like a strong hairspray but this does ware off once the product has settled on your hair. The product has a life span of 12 months after which the protection will not be as effective as well as the smell becoming that of a no so pleasant one, so do not keep it in the back of the cupboard until next year!
I bought this bottle when it was on offer in boots... buy one get one free for £3.59. so 600ml for that price is fantastic! I thought this was a bargain and could not resist. Prices vary from place to place.

My overall opinion

Although I can not physically see the spray protecting my hair against heat it is the piece of mind which makes heat protection worthwhile. This spray by Tresemme' does keep my hair from drying out when I blow dry it and I notice the difference when I don't use the spray. It does not make my hair stay straight and it does not benefit my actual hair style in any way. The smell is not one I would want to keep on my hair so I am glad this wears off after a while. I think it does what it says and protects your hair at a market leading price! I will definitely continue to use this product.
